Are the mod authors not all providing the mod folder in the archive? Seems counter productive to upload just a dll and put the instruction in the description.
Nope, in fact putting the mod folder in the archive was quite rare. At least at the time I made the video which is when I was downloading the majority of the mods I used. I'd go as far to say 90% were read the description. And some of those didn't even do that so you had to make an educated guess. I don't know if it's changed since then but I doubt it.
I don't know too much about the full ins and outs of modding as in creating ect... For this one it was a case of reading the instructions on the website where all the mods are. Obviously that can be reasonably overwhelming when you first start so some experience does help. Which is why I made the video to help explain to my viewers who are new to it. The best way to learn i've found is just by playing around and trying. Follow tutorials both on youtube and websites and try and take your time to understand each step. The more you do it the more it will make sense as to what needs to go where and why. So what I did for this for example was once I had followed all the instructions and got it all working. I deleted everything and tried again from memory and that way it stuck and I knew what to do. The most common mistake people make is not following each step fully and jumping ahead. This game is actually quite a good one to start with because everything mostly just needs placing in the right folders to work.
Man not sure what I did wrong but after installing the Melon loader and the BepInEx the game just pops up with some weird window.. looks like a command prompt window says a bunch of stuff then.. it says in yellow something like "vanilla something detected"? It goes so quickly it's impossible to read. Maybe I'll just do a fresh install.
Yeah i'd try that, not come across that issue before. Either with my own game or from somone else. So not really sure about it, or what is causing it. Sorry I can't be more help, hopefully if you are still struggling someone will read this who can help 🙂
For some reason whel i loaded my save using the better save system mod my store was there. but no shelves, tills, or storage shelves and backstock.Even starting a new game seems to be bugged out as its stuck on wait for first customer. Nevermind turns out it was more freezers and 5 tier shelfs that were causing the issue and deleting them has fixed it sucks but not as much as restarting would have lol
The same thing happend to me after the last game update. It was to do with the shelving I used a mod called furniture fixer and it sorted it. You have to run it, save and quit and then go back in and everything popped back in.
This is a great tutorial but i have a question. Where do you put your .cfg files? (the notepad file where you can change etc. how quick your cashier scan something) it doesnt seem to work when i put them into the mlloader mod file, the mod itself works perfectly fine though.
For MelonLoader mods, place it in the user data folder within the MelonLoader folder. Also for BepInEx mods, place it in the config folder within BepInEx.
Since we don't manage these mods with a program and have to manually download them, is there a way to easily see when mods we have, have an update available?
So there are two ways of checking. The first is looking on the updated tab on nexus mods which shows the mods that have been recently updated. The second way is better and easier for your specific mods. When on the supermarket simulator section of nexus mods. Go onto your profile in the top right corner and click my mods and click download history. You can sort them by latest update and also see when you last downloaded it. So if the updated date is later than your download. It most likely means there is an update available.
For some reason the link for the bepin doesn't actually show the mod. Also can't find it on the search function of the website, maybe it was deleted for some reason.
Just tried it, for some reason it occasionally gets flagged as adult content. Not sure why but happens from time to time. So if you are not signed in it won't show up. If you sign in and then click the link it will work just fine. Just tested it myself
i have a query .. does this game detect mods or files and ban your account and you have to start with new game as starting 🙃 and how to identify if its a melon loader or a plugin file ?
No the mods are perfectly fine to use with no issues. And work with an existing game just fine as well so no need to start a new one. As for identifying whether or not it's a melonloader or plugin file. It will usually say on the mod page at the top or if not. In the mod description the author will usually reference it somewhere. Sometimes it doesn't say at all, in these circumstances place it in one and if it doesn't work try it in the other. Other than it being annoying to move the file from one place to another it won't harm the process in any way. Hope this helps 🙂

Glad to hear it, there is a Mod called unrestricted placement which goes in the plugins folder. I'm not sure if it still works or not but that used to allow me to place things wherever I wanted. Like in my series on youtube, I even had things outside.
Well if you did exactly as shown there is no reason it shouldn't be working. Which mods are you using? If it's still not working maybe try removing the BepInEx and melonloader folders and trying again from the start incase they didn't initialise correctly.
It depends on the mods you use. 99% not really no. In fact towards the end of my series playthrough I was adding and removing them quite a bit as game updates replaced the need for a few. However any furniture ones such as pallets for example although they don't affect the save, obviously if you remove it the stock that is on it would have nowhere to go. The only time it affected the save in any way was the update back in June. And all the furniture mods broke but I was able to get it back working again.

Have you booted the game up and come all the way out? Sometimes it needs a restart for them to show up. Otherwise that's the correct place, are you running any mods in may be conflicting with? And is the file fully extracted?
You mean when you download them? If so they would probably still be in your downloads just unpacked. Most of the files you download will be .dll files or folders
You shouldn't have to but since the last game update some mods don't work as intended all of the time. Which mod was it that you installed? It could be that you need to alter the config file first? Is it purely money you are wanting to change?
for some odd reason only the melon loader mods work like no max order limit, but mods like refill storage that are bepinex dont seem to work. please help
Specifically the refill all mod stopped working on Tuesday with the latest update. So the mod will need an update to come out to work. Store delivery also had the tick option to toggle it on and off break. However it still does delivery off items to storage. I would try a few other BepInEx mods to see if they work.
@@tpgamingx12 wait, I think I know what I did wrong. I think I forgot to copy everything into the game. I think I just put the folder in the game without copying
I wouldn't have thought it matters where it has been bought from since you are just adding things into the files. My suggestion would be to retrace your steps and make sure everything is going into the right folders. Sometimes it's easy to make a mistake moving things between the different folders.
It's usually something simple just overlooked, have you fully extracted the mods. And placed the .dll file only in the relevant place. So plugins for BepInEx and mods for melonloader
nothing worked and the stock manager gave me a browser save and i have no idea where to put it so that doesnt work either. kinda annoyed bc now idek what to delete without breaking the game
That may well be because of the latest game update. Some mods are either not working at the moment or are clashing with things. Which mods did you try?
@@tpgamingx12 in the end, the mods were working, but unfortunately, I was unable to click on any product to check anyone out. I have since deleted all mods, and tried to reinstall the mods that I wanted, including the BP and melon loaders, but I’m not able to get the melon loaderto give me the folder that I’m expecting to see. I’ll grab a full list of the mods when I’m back at my PC.
I am getting to 2:34 and the Bep Ex Melon Loader is not adding the mods folder (when it did the first time I loaded) even after starting the game as he directs. Not sure what do do.
I've just checked and for some reason it's being displayed as containing adult content. (No idea why 😂). You will need an account anyway to download the mods. Once you have one you can go to site preferences and allow adult content to be showed and then you will see it. My guess is it is possibly being updated and that was the mod authors way of hiding it from search or it's been done by accident. Alternatively you can google it and github should come up and you can also download it from there.
It will generally tell you on the mod page when you download it. Either in the description of the mod or you can check the requirements. But usually it will say place in BepInEx plugins or place in MelonLoader
I guess what I'm confused about is the melon loader, the one I downloaded has alot of items in its folder so when I take it into supermarket simulator it doesn't seem to work- is there a trick?
You could try deleting the files and putting them in again fresh to the game folder. Also you could try adding the folders manually if it still won't work. So look at the ones I have and put them in yourself. Other than that, on Nexus mods there are quite a few posts, it's possible someone else has the same issue and has found a solution. Hope that helps.

Hey again TPGaming, I went out and bought a Windows gaming laptop today. I was playing SMS on a Mac via NVIDIA GeForce NOW a few days ago. For some reason, and I tried to follow along really closely while extracting the mod files (without using Winrar), but it seems to not be working. Do I really need to buy Winrar to extract mods for a game? Lol I don't know what else the issue would be.
It's a free download if you think that may be the issue. Or there are other extractors as well. When you extract are you getting the .dll file from the mods?

It would be the exact same method you see in this video. Once you have set up for modding, just download the richer customers mod like I do the other mods. That mod is a BepInEx mod, so the extracted .dll file goes in the BepInEx plugins folder as shown in the video.
Yeah that's fine then. Are the mods definitely in their correct folders, so the BepInEx mods are in plugins and the different MelonLoader mods are in the mod folder of MelonLoader?
Mods in melon loader seem to have many issues they just don’t work at the moment. Many people are having issues using melon loader mods after doing everything correct including having all the right requirements.. they don’t work when putting them in the correct mod folder
Are they ones that have not updated? I've removed a few mods after the last game update. But I still have some melonloader mods working just fine. Such as refill storage, permaday, pause restockers and stock manager. And pallet mod is back now too.
Sounds like they possibly haven't been renamed. If you go into the texture replacer and look at the product names check to see what they are called. Books are products 12 - 23

When you extracted Tobeys BepInExXmelonloader. Did you copy the contents to the main game folder. So that they were all separate in there not in a folder together?
Hello I have a question! I’m been following your tutorial and I’m having an issue. When I download the Tobey mod and and boot up the game to initiate the folders in the MLL LOADER. The mods file never populates. Actually nothing populates. So have no area to put my mod -- again this is after initiating the game like you said but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong ?
That's very strange then, from what you have said that's all the correct way to do it. Two ideas I have would be to remove all the files and try again. Or manually add a mods folder and see if that works.
Are you still running some mods? Generally any shelving or fridge ones are causing the issues. Also i've had issues when unpacking new checkouts with no mods running think it's a new update bug.
That's alright then, if it ever doesn't say probably the best thing to do is just try. It won't do any harm it will either work or it won't. Glad you got it sorted 🙂
Yeah, I believe there is now a mod manager available on nexus mods which allows you to enable and disable them from it. But I haven't tried it yet. Up to now i've just removed them from the folder if I don't want to run them.
so sorry to be a pain but ive downloaded smart pocket boxes ive extracted and added into bepinex plugins but i cant seem to get it to work. any ideas please?
That's alright. I've not had any issues personally. I do remember when I first started using it. Needing to click right on the product photo on the shelf and if I was slightly off it wasn't registering.
Which mod is it? If it's not labeled properly sometimes you just have to make an educated guess. And if that's not possible you put it in one and if doesn't work, place it in the other.

So..this is impossible to download mods for mac? I bought the game on steam before finding out it's only supported by windows currently. So I play it via NVIDIA GeForce NOW. Is there any way to download mods and put them in the game via NVIDIA GeForce NOW on a mac?
I would't have thought so because the way you mod this game is actually adding them to the downloaded game folder. So without access to that. I don't see how it can be done.

From me, grind i'm afraid. Have a couple of shelves per item to make sure there is plenty of stock and build it up. I have mine in a semi logical order. Fridge, toiletries/cleaning and dried goods. I downloaded a refill in one go mod today, costs a fortune. But after a few days I gradually managed to get a full store room.
Agreed that would be really useful. Even mine isn't exactly how i'd like it. Some things are out of place. Although the restockers use it mainly now and they don't mind haha.
Just checked looks like they are having website issues at the moment. They are trying to fix it ASAP. So i'd check again later or tomorrow and it should be fine 🤞
It says the launcher for the mods (bepinex and melonlauncher) are "adult content" and i dont have an account for nexus. Any work arounds? Edit: another issue is i went to github to install the mod launchers and now the launchers wont launcher. cant explain it simpler than that. nothing will load, its just the base game.
As far as nexus mods the only way you can download from there is to have an account. It's free to have one though. So the only workaround would be to use github. As for the launches, are you meaning they won't initialise. Example, the melonloader mod folder has not appeared after a game boot cycle? Otherwise they don't affect the game in any way unless you have mods actually running. Alone the launches do not affect the base game at all.
For some mods yes, others you need BepInEx. But if you download the Tobeys BepInEx X MelonLoader pack. You get both of them combined in one download all set up and ready to use. There is a link in the description
This was actually the most straightforward video I found, thanks so much. I would just like to know, I’m trying to get the store delivery mod to work and I’ve installed it just like you, but it just doesn’t show at all. Anyone else having this issue? My other two mods work fine x
I've not had any issues myself. You could try removing it. And putting it back in. If still nothing, you could try putting it in manually incase anything didn't copy across with the BepInEx folder. So if you open the BepInEx folder in the mod itself that I said to copy and paste in the main file. You will see plugins and config. If you go into each of those and copy the file. And place them in the BepInEx folder located in the game folder. In the main BepInEx folder located game folder you should see plugins, so the plugin file will go in there. And you should see config, so the config goes in there. Otherwise there was someone in the comments who made one of the mods. It's not their mod but they may be able to help since they know a bit more about how it all works. I hope that helps 🙂
So if it's a melonloader mod. Inside the melonloader folder in the game folder you'll see another folder called mods. Place them in there. For BepInEx all mods go inside the plugins folder within BepInEx

I don't have the folder 'mods' in melon loader and nothing seems to work
Did you place it all in the main game folder? And then did you boot the game up and quit out?

@@tpgamingx12 fixed it, when I first extrakted them they had they're own folder inside the main one,but I moved them out of that. Now its ok

Have you booted the game up and come all the way out? Sometimes it needs a restart for them to show up.
Otherwise that's the correct place, are you running any mods in may be conflicting with?
And is the file fully extracted?

You mean when you download them? If so they would probably still be in your downloads just unpacked. Most of the files you download will be .dll files or folders

You shouldn't have to but since the last game update some mods don't work as intended all of the time.
Which mod was it that you installed? It could be that you need to alter the config file first?
Is it purely money you are wanting to change?
for some odd reason only the melon loader mods work like no max order limit, but mods like refill storage that are bepinex dont seem to work. please help
i have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times and still no luck :(
Specifically the refill all mod stopped working on Tuesday with the latest update. So the mod will need an update to come out to work.
Store delivery also had the tick option to toggle it on and off break. However it still does delivery off items to storage.
I would try a few other BepInEx mods to see if they work.

The mods folder won’t appear even after launching the game and closing it
I'm not sure why, as long as the folder has been properly extracted and copied into the game folder. It should work

I wouldn't have thought it matters where it has been bought from since you are just adding things into the files. My suggestion would be to retrace your steps and make sure everything is going into the right folders. Sometimes it's easy to make a mistake moving things between the different folders.
Idk if/what I’m doing wrong or if this video is outdated or something but I cannot get a single mod to work despite following this to the letter 😢
It's usually something simple just overlooked, have you fully extracted the mods. And placed the .dll file only in the relevant place. So plugins for BepInEx and mods for melonloader
nothing worked and the stock manager gave me a browser save and i have no idea where to put it so that doesnt work either. kinda annoyed bc now idek what to delete

I stand corrected. Some are working, some are not.
That may well be because of the latest game update. Some mods are either not working at the moment or are clashing with things. Which mods did you try?
@@tpgamingx12 in the end, the mods were working, but unfortunately, I was unable to click on any product to check anyone out. I have since deleted all mods, and tried to reinstall the mods that I wanted, including the BP and melon loaders, but I’m not able to get the melon loaderto give me the folder that I’m expecting to see. I’ll grab a full list of the mods when I’m back at my PC.
I am getting to 2:34 and the Bep Ex Melon Loader is not adding the mods folder (when it did the first time I loaded) even after starting the game as he directs. Not sure what do do.
Did you remove all of the files associated with them before trying to put them back? And did you make sure all the files were extracted properly?
My mods seems to be extracting into just a note (DLL file?) instead of the app you are getting in the video, what am I doing wrong?
I'm not sure why they are extracting that way. It's possibly a setting on your pc or extractor that needs to change.

I've just checked and for some reason it's being displayed as containing adult content. (No idea why 😂). You will need an account anyway to download the mods. Once you have one you can go to site preferences and allow adult content to be showed and then you will see it. My guess is it is possibly being updated and that was the mod authors way of hiding it from search or it's been done by accident.
Alternatively you can google it and github should come up and you can also download it from there.
How do i tell the difference between a Melonloader file and a BepInEx file?? i'm so confused
It will generally tell you on the mod page when you download it. Either in the description of the mod or you can check the requirements. But usually it will say place in BepInEx plugins or place in MelonLoader
I guess what I'm confused about is the melon loader, the one I downloaded has alot of items in its folder so when I take it into supermarket simulator it doesn't seem to work- is there a trick?
What items does it have in it's folder?

You could try deleting the files and putting them in again fresh to the game folder.
Also you could try adding the folders manually if it still won't work. So look at the ones I have and put them in yourself.
Other than that, on Nexus mods there are quite a few posts, it's possible someone else has the same issue and has found a solution.

I'm not really sure what to suggest having not come across this problem myself. There was someone in the comments of my Trying must have mods video. Their name is @ElderonAnalas. They seemed reasonably up to speed with the modding in this game. Maybe they can help.

The mods are for pc, I wouldn't imagine there are any mods for any mobile supermarket sim game.

Hey again TPGaming, I went out and bought a Windows gaming laptop today. I was playing SMS on a Mac via NVIDIA GeForce NOW a few days ago. For some reason, and I tried to follow along really closely while extracting the mod files (without using Winrar), but it seems to not be working. Do I really need to buy Winrar to extract mods for a game? Lol I don't know what else the issue would be.
It's a free download if you think that may be the issue. Or there are other extractors as well. When you extract are you getting the .dll file from the mods?

It will be available on nexus mods, if you search for it there it should be available to download.

It would be the exact same method you see in this video. Once you have set up for modding, just download the richer customers mod like I do the other mods. That mod is a BepInEx mod, so the extracted .dll file goes in the BepInEx plugins folder as shown in the video.

Sounds like you have done everything right so far. Are the files you are placing just the .dll files?

Yeah that's fine then. Are the mods definitely in their correct folders, so the BepInEx mods are in plugins and the different MelonLoader mods are in the mod folder of MelonLoader?
Mods in melon loader seem to have many issues they just don’t work at the moment. Many people are having issues using melon loader mods after doing everything correct including having all the right requirements.. they don’t work when putting them in the correct mod folder
Are they ones that have not updated? I've removed a few mods after the last game update. But I still have some melonloader mods working just fine. Such as refill storage, permaday, pause restockers and stock manager. And pallet mod is back now too.
Not sure if you have but I got games instead of books mod on nexus I put it in folder but tje licence says books still.
I used to have a version of it before when I had all the products. But not ran it since the update.
Is it just the names that are wrong?

Sounds like they possibly haven't been renamed. If you go into the texture replacer and look at the product names check to see what they are called. Books are products 12 - 23

Hello I have a question! I’m been following your tutorial and I’m having an issue. When I download the Tobey mod and and boot up the game to initiate the folders in the MLL LOADER. The mods file never populates. Actually nothing populates. So have no area to put my mod -- again this is after initiating the game like you said but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong ?

That's very strange then, from what you have said that's all the correct way to do it.
Two ideas I have would be to remove all the files and try again.
Or manually add a mods folder and see if that works.

It's most likely to do with the latest game patch. A few of the mods are currently incompatible

Are you still running some mods? Generally any shelving or fridge ones are causing the issues.
Also i've had issues when unpacking new checkouts with no mods running think it's a new update bug.

That's alright then, if it ever doesn't say probably the best thing to do is just try. It won't do any harm it will either work or it won't.

Yeah, I believe there is now a mod manager available on nexus mods which allows you to enable and disable them from it. But I haven't tried it yet. Up to now i've just removed them from the folder if I don't want to run them.

That's alright. I've not had any issues personally. I do remember when I first started using it. Needing to click right on the product photo on the shelf and if I was slightly off it wasn't registering.

I can't say for sure because I have not tried it. Some mods might work, but ones that utilise full game features would not.
The prologue is a very old version of the game so I highly doubt it.
So what do I put the mod in if it says it’s for both melon loader and Bepinex?
Which mod is it?
If it's not labeled properly sometimes you just have to make an educated guess.
And if that's not possible you put it in one and if doesn't work, place it in the other.

I believe EZ delivery is a melonloader mod. So put it in the mod folder of MelonLoader 🙂

So..this is impossible to download mods for mac? I bought the game on steam before finding out it's only supported by windows currently. So I play it via NVIDIA GeForce NOW. Is there any way to download mods and put them in the game via NVIDIA GeForce NOW on a mac?
I would't have thought so because the way you mod this game is actually adding them to the downloaded game folder. So without access to that. I don't see how it can be done.

From me, grind i'm afraid. Have a couple of shelves per item to make sure there is plenty of stock and build it up.
I have mine in a semi logical order. Fridge, toiletries/cleaning and dried goods.
I downloaded a refill in one go mod today, costs a fortune. But after a few days I gradually managed to get a full store room.
@tpgamingx12 I started off all organised and in 2 days I've messed it all up. This game is so addictive.

Agreed that would be really useful. Even mine isn't exactly how i'd like it. Some things are out of place. Although the restockers use it mainly now and they don't mind haha.
i also ran into a problem, so melon mods work just fine but bepinex mods dont work? like theyre not even enabled or in the game at all
Some of them require a game boot cycle to initialise but if they are in the right folder i've not had any issue with them.

It says the launcher for the mods (bepinex and melonlauncher) are "adult content" and i dont have an account for nexus. Any work arounds?
Edit: another issue is i went to github to install the mod launchers and now the launchers wont launcher. cant explain it simpler than that. nothing will load, its just the base game.
As far as nexus mods the only way you can download from there is to have an account. It's free to have one though. So the only workaround would be to use github. As for the launches, are you meaning they won't initialise. Example, the melonloader mod folder has not appeared after a game boot cycle? Otherwise they don't affect the game in any way unless you have mods actually running. Alone the launches do not affect the base game at all.

I would just like to know, I’m trying to get the store delivery mod to work and I’ve installed it just like you, but it just doesn’t show at all. Anyone else having this issue? My other two mods work fine x
I've not had any issues myself. You could try removing it. And putting it back in.
If still nothing, you could try putting it in manually incase anything didn't copy across with the BepInEx folder.
So if you open the BepInEx folder in the mod itself that I said to copy and paste in the main file. You will see plugins and config. If you go into each of those and copy the file. And place them in the BepInEx folder located in the game folder.
In the main BepInEx folder located game folder you should see plugins, so the plugin file will go in there.
And you should see config, so the config goes in there.
Otherwise there was someone in the comments who made one of the mods. It's not their mod but they may be able to help since they know a bit more about how it all works.

I had same issue with this one, I had to find the file with cogs on it and manually move it to the location.

So if it's a melonloader mod. Inside the melonloader folder in the game folder you'll see another folder called mods. Place them in there.
For BepInEx all mods go inside the plugins folder within BepInEx
