Absolutely correct. I am 61 and during my life I have practised Judo, Kung Fu and Tai Chi. When I was a young boy (13 - 18) and very competitive, Judo competition suited me better. Then as a young man (25 to 35) living in tough neighbourhoods in London the Kung Fu suited me better to control my anger but still be able to defend myself. Later on, from 35, through internal practices of Kung Fu it lead me to Tai Chi. However, in starting to learn Tai Chi I had to let go and unlearn almost everything I had learned from Judo and Kung Fu. It's rare to see young people practising Tai Chi, although the Chen style seems more adaptable to younger people due to it's explosive fajin movements. Other Tai Chi styles like Yang, Wu, Hao and Sun definitely seem to appeal more to people over 40. Some people start Tai Chi as young as 17, these are often people not just searching for a martial art discipline but also people trying to discover themselves and opening their interests to other philosophies or ways of life. There are aspects of Tai Chi that can provide many different benefits to the practitioner, depending on what they need or what they want to experience. I love the way this master speaks, I don't speak or understand Chinese, but his voice is extremely calming and relaxing to listen to, you can see that he has disciplined himself yet still remains soft and gentle as a person.
@@ShuJianVerein @Mark Donovan Yes he speaks in a simple, straight forward and calm manner and i believe it's the benefit of practicing taiji that made him speak that way. The way a person carry himself can tell volumes about what the person personality.
