Until now, we all said Judith is in heaven, playing with Charlie. Now we can truly say that as Burt Reynolds, who voiced Charlie, has joined Judith Barsi and Dom Deluise in heaven today on September 6, 2018.
Rest in peace, Burt Reynolds. Charlie, Itchy, and Anne Marie are together forever :')
モモアリア MomoAria Yeah, but Vic Tayback and Charles Nelson Reilly (the voices of Carface and Killer) died also.
I'll miss Charlie 😢 aka Burt Reynolds
Burt Reynolds was also in some beach volleyball movie
Dark Horse I know I wish I would’ve met him 😔 Burt was a great guy

I know "Love Survives" was in honor of Judith Barsi, but it would have been nice if they would have added "In Loving memory of..." at the end of the credits.
Agreed with you
Exactly what I was looking for!!!
Yeah, thanks Don!! 😒 Not. 👎🏼
They animated Anne-Marie based on Judith's movements and mannerisms. It's slight but hidden tribute
I know 😔 she was such a sweet girl. I wish her dad didn’t kill her and over her being an actress you’ve got to be kidding me.
I can't imagine how Don and the rest of the cast and crew must've felt when they heard the news about Judith. "Love Survives" was a fitting tribute to her indeed.
The whole cast was so devastated. Don Bluth had to walk out of the studio for a day. Love Survives was written by the rest of the cast and they hired outside songwriters to make the song. I knew this because I have a relative who worked in Hollywood in the 80s and 90s.
Also, the final scenes of this movie were sad because those lines were her last recorded lines. Judith Barsi's voice lines were done first due to child labor laws at the time. When Burt Reynolds was doing that scene, it was months after she died. You can hear Burt Reynolds's voice crack a couple of times in that scene so he was legitimately saying goodbye to her. R.I.P Judith Barsi. You did not deserve this.
@@sethcaudle2700 OMG
Can imagine it
Don Bluth changed the character design of Anne-Marie to make her more like Judith as a tribute.
@@1973Washu That's right. He based Anne-Maries's design and mannerisms on Judith to both honor her memory and cope with losing her.
Can't help thinking of Maria saying the first line of Love Survives:"Now I know you're safe here in my heart, you will always be with me, we'll never be apart" to Judith when they got to the gates of heaven in 1988.
The song was dedicated to the memory of Judith
*R.I.P to most of the film's cast:*

That poor girl was killed by her own father. everytime I watch this movie and land before time I think about that girl. R.I.P.
gladly he is rotting in hell while she has a better life above
Her father deserves to go to Hell for killing her
Seems like the whole world had gone crazy.
What's worse is that the slimy coward killed himself after killing Judith and her mother.
@@justsomeguy4206 To avoid trial himself
He scuttled his entire family tree

(the entire Barsi Family is declared extinct following Agi's Passing)
Don't worry.. Judith Barsi is up in heaven playing with Charlie :')
Yes she is
You know the irony is that she has been in Heaven for so long now, at this point whenever someone says RIP or feels sorry for her, she is probably up there saying, "People really I'm fine now, what happened was a long time ago. I've been having a happy afterlife ever since., yep yep yep"
MonitaLeaf12 shes up in heaven with charlie, but sasha la fleur is with them too, and itchy, they're all long dead now, because of natural aging
MonitaLeaf12 wait she died
Butsarebig76 she died ?
Gee this movie had drinking, smoking, gambling and murder, and yet they created this beautiful song for a little girl who was shot and killed by her own father.
Judith Barsi, may she be happy reuniting with Charlie up in heaven, yep, yep, yep.
@Alexandros Martinez And now, Burt Reynolds.
Well, at least the sequel, TV series, and Christmas special omitted all that shit and became child-friendly and light-hearted
When you say Charlie, you mean the voice actor Burt Reynolds who passed on 2 years ago. But yeah, he was a good actor rest his soul All dogs go to heaven was the only movie I knew he was in when I watched it a few years ago.
Her father was consumed by insanity and despair, and when he did what he did to his wife and child before ending himself, as such had he slain himself in pride and despair and murdered his wife and child to ease his own death.
@@benjamintracey6685 And that is exactly why I think we should just do away with the criminally insane! They are nothing but a danger to all and clearly are beyond help, so why keep them around?
That was it. That was the last of little Judith. I wish she got the happy ending Anne-Marie did.
If only..... :'( That poor girl.... :(
That poor little angel
She was such a sweet and innocent soul. ❤
This song reminds me of my grandmother who passed away due to cancer. She was the one who first showed me this movie. The ending of this movie reminds me of when I had to say my last goodbyes to her. Now she's in heaven too.
Level 5001
Gotta love the voice of the angel when she starts yelling at Carface lmfao XD
Linzi Kipling i agree
Sorry, but I prefer Ernest Borgnine and Bebe Neuwirth’s voices as Carface Carruthers and the Whippet Angel.
Send Carface to Hell!
The snide "shut up" before that was fun too.
Will Robinson ..........
Ok?
Judith didn't deserve to be killed. I think they should still keep making movies like these.
Now we won’t know how she would look as an adult
Poor little Judi she shouldn't of suffered like she did.
This film makes me think happy thoughts about her enjoying heaven with Charlie, Itchy and Ducky. The fan film I'm making with my friends and family is dedicated to her memory and has love survives in it for her.
She was amazing at staying strong about her life at home during her acting performances. Although she finally broke down in a audition, she was still strong.
Rest in peace Judith Yep, Yep, Yep.
Random gal Vange Amen. That idiot Jozsef Barsi was jealous, offensive, zany, selfish, evil, fiendish, brutal, arrogant, ruthless, sneaky, intelligent, judgmental, opportunistic, zesty, sadistic, egotistical, fearful, boorish, abusive, rude, short-tempered and irresponsible.

That's still a hard thing to digest. She was only 10! Her and her mother were innocent! Little Miss Judith at least got to finish her lines for this her...final film...

They should of put “In Memory of Judith Barsi” somewhere in the credits. I see a lot of movies that honor a cast member who suddenly died during production somewhere in the end credits.
Yeah they really should have
Well, she didn't actually die during this film, but I think the song is a lovely tribute for her.
Totally agree!!! In Poltergeist 3 they wrote "this film is dedicated to Heather O'Rourke (1975-1988)", they should have do the same with Judith!

Oh my goodness…. I’ve watched this movie as a tyke, 3-4 years old… one of my very first love songs I’ve ever heard, knowing the history of the young actress of Anne Marie (my favorite character in the movie)…. ….Hearing that love survives first chorus theme will bring me right to tears as an adult at 37, 2023 of how angelic, beautiful and nostalgic this song is…. 😭
Not only a love song… but as a kid, the song to me was incredibly angelic and spiritually moving. Today, I know there is a God and feel he really touch Freddie and Irene Cara singing this song.
My belly moves like crazy listening to it. My Holy Spirit in my tummy is pleased listening to this big time!
Of course it's too devastating when a loved one dies, but hearing Charlie admitting the music shouldn't sound dead always reminds me that death can and will occur to everyone. It's a part of life.
Indeed
Charlie admitting the music shouldn't sound dead is one of the two reasons, and the extra scene during the credits showing Carface coming into Heaven is the other reason.
I came back here after my own dog recently passed away at 15 years and 3 months old. Of course I cried after her passing, but I managed to get over it after taking my time to adjust. I'm still sad she's gone, but I came to watch this clip as a reminder that there's no need to waste time grieving.❤ I'll make the most of taking care of my current rabbit.
Charlie Barkin: Hey, I know we're all dead up here, but so's the music, how about heating it up?
Vera: Honey, you know it! *upbeat gospel music plays*
Charlie Barkin: That's nice, that's nice.
Carface Carruthers: Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh, I'll get that gator, if it's the last thing I do!
Annabelle: Touch that clock, & you can never come back.
Carface Carruthers: Shut up.
Annabelle: *chases him* I said, touch that clock, & you can never come back!
Charlie Barkin: He'll be back.
Yep, he truly did come back :D
Risë Hickey i like that too
I like how the movie ended with sequel bait as the sequel came 7 years later but with Charlie, Itchy and Carface in 1995 San Francisco instead of back to New Orleans and this time Charlie (voiced by Charlie Sheen instead of Burt Reynolds) becomes a guardian angel to a little boy and falls in love with a female dog named Sasha and decides to live back on Earth while Itchy (who just got into heaven despite him leaving in the 1930's and he should have been with Charlie not long after Charlie's death) decides to be in heaven while Carface sold his soul to the devil and then a TV show and a Christmas Carol came afterwards missing up the continuity that the first film as well as the sequel had.

All Dogs Go to Heaven is in New Orleans, not NYC.
Poor little Judith. She was such a sweet and innocent soul 🩷. Not forgotten ever alongside the main voice leads that passed on 🤍.
Perfectly summed up! What’s worse is that she had a horrible monster of a father who abused her and her mom. She would’ve lived longer and hadn’t suffered like she did if it weren’t for her so-called “dad” abusing them both.

Someone told me that this movie had a "in memory of Judith Barsi" in the credits but I must have missed it. Anyone know what the time signature is for the memorial. I heard that the song "Love Survives" was also dedicated to her but that wasn't noted in the credits either. Ideas anyone? I wish they would make a movie out of her life to shake some sense into people, especially in the film industry regarding children in crisis. No one should have given up when there were so many who knew of her desperate home life! They could have saved her. Her father had made threats like this to his first family so you'd have thought people, especially those in power, in the media, would have taken all this into consideration, seen a pattern with the drinking and things he said. They may have cut her film career short but her life would have been longer!

Why didn't Don Bluth make end credits like this after the 80's? The artwork was so amazing. :)
+CrimsonNineTail I agree this end credit style first started in the original Land before Time and it really is a nice flow for the end credits it's not rushed like now these days.
+Michael Lake How do you figured they're rushed? And besides, better rushed than long like Rock-a-Doodle.
+jacoblgames what I ment was it just the other company's style not to stop and really give they credits nice back ground animation except Pixar who some films have the famous blooper real at the end

Now I was born in 1990 and I saw this at 8 years old, I did not know about Judith Barasi so I did not know that she was dead for years, I just used to listen to Love survives thinking "what a lovely song" I looked up all dogs go to heaven online to see if the girl doing Anne Marie's voice was also doing the singing and it said that it was Judith's final role and I red about her on Wikipedia.
I was born on September 23rd, 1997. I'm also born in the 1990s era.
She never even got to watch her movie 😥 R.I.P judith barsi
In one of the scenes of this movie, Anne Marie walks in when Charlie is saying that he is using her and is gonna dump her when he's done using her.. So sad because she was supporting her family financially when she played this role so I am sure she felt like she was only as good as her next role. Judith had such a sad life... its so sad.
Wow. Never even thought of that 😔 that part is so sad... I always cry but now it's even more sad
Charlie is said to have "the brain of a con man, but the heart of a marshmallow." Having been on the streets from a young age, Charlie has developed his "gift of gab" in order to survive the harsh streets.
At first, he is clever, fun-loving, naughty, lively, charming, somewhat money-hungry, a risk-taker, and quite the party animal.
His character develops throughout the first film into a more honorable and heroic one due to the fact of his guilty consciousness of stealing and deception towards Anne-Marie.
In the first film, he starts off roguish, somewhat hotheaded, and baleful (but not as malicious as Carface) and is not well known for doing much good deeds, but because he is a dog (since dogs are naturally good and loyal like what Annabelle said before), he was allowed access to heaven. But he doesn't mean harm as he has been shown to have a very caring, compassionate side in the first place, and compared to Carface, Charlie was more of a pleaser and was proven to be quite popular amongst the other dogs, an example of when Charlie returned to the casino after getting away from the pound, it is hinted by the other casino goers that Charlie ran the casino better than Carface, giving everyone what they wanted and gained more popularity and success than Carface after running his own newly-built casino. Also, spending the day with Anne-Marie made him begin to warm up a lot more, even going far as to sacrifice his own life for hers. Towards the end of the first film, with the sacrifice of his life made, he returns to Anne-Marie with his last farewells with a personality fully channeled and developed into the heart of a father mostly due to his great care for her.
In the first film, all Charlie originally cared about was Anne-Marie being his money maker, with her amazing gift to talk to animals, only wanting to use her much like Carface did. However, being the con artist he was, he wanted to gain her trust first by appearing like a Robin Hood figure in her eyes, stating he rescued her from Carface and only gambles to "give money to the poor". Unlike Carface, he was more than willing to give her anything she wanted and to keep her happy as long as he got what he wanted out of her.
However, the more time Charlie spent with her, the more caring he became of her, affectionately calling her "squeaker.""
Near the end of the film, he willingly sacrificed his life to save her from the burning casino ship. By the time they exchanged goodbyes, their union is as strong as a father-daughter's relationship. He even promised her they would meet again someday. As Charlie is a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix, he could not help but treat Anne-Marie the way he was bred to, which is love and protect her with his life. This is probably because his breed was to guard flocks of sheep and other livestock from getting hurt from predators. This specific duty came to him when he bonded with Anne-Marie, which is why he became fiercely loving of her like a dog-owner companionship.
Vic Tayback also passed away but died in 1990
