All Angles: Capuozzo and Padovani Combine For Epic Italy Try In Cardiff | 2022 Guinness Six Nations

- Italy secured their first Guinness Six Nations victory since 2015 with a stunning last-gasp 22-21 triumph over Wales in Cardiff, in the opening match on Super Saturday.
Wales had looked on course to secure the win thanks to second-half tries from Dewi Lake and Josh Adams, only for Edoardo Padovani to crash over with one minute left on the clock.
But while it was Padovani who finished off the try, it was the work of Ange Capuozzo that made it. The young full-back collected the ball in his own half before breaking the line, beating several tacklers and passing inside for Padovani to go over and secure a dramatic win.
Imagine after 78 minutes of tough game, starting a run from inside your own half, jumping about 9 opponents, arriving on the edge of the try and still have the clear head to achieve the bigger goal for the whole squad by looking for a better placed teammate... Ange Capuozzo is amazing!
at the 70 min after Wales cameback and took the lead and a few bad Italian moves I thought they were completely out of gas. Then this happened !
I can’t imagine anything about his hardworking
Mi riferisco a Capuozzo. Grandissimo.
If you look closely you see the medic on the sideline screaming and pointing towards Capuozzo's supporting player
@@tymone3544 Definitely! And so therefore, Man of The Match: the Medic!
Padovani too did a great job by running alongside him. He was the only one who saw the opportunity from his own half.
Very happy for the Italians!
From Toulouse, France.
must be loving seeing your new fullback pull stuff like this off!
@@carrot5610 jaminet and capuozzo...
Capuozzooooo.
Amazing try! Capuozzo, what a player! ...and Josh Adams, incredible sportsmanship!
Lo spirito del rugby ...
Less so from wales number 20 for the off the ball push just prior to the final pass…
That was a classy and right thing to do from Adams.
fantastic ! hope italy gain confidence and become a strong team ! respect from France !
how can you describe rugby? the only real sport left. a victory of the underdog against a strong opponent, and the chivalry of the opponent and crowd ? this is rugby .
thank you "six nations" for putting up with our decades old efforts to deserve to be here. this makes it all worth it.
Rugby and grand tour cycling are the greatest and toughest sports...
Could've gone for glory himself but passed inside for the sake of his team. The Scotland captain did exactly the opposite on the same day and got smashed out into touch. Mature and intelligent play by the young Italian.
So wonderful to see Italy winning - sincere congratulations and may there be more to come
Rugby and the Six Nations is no fun when Italy lose all the time.
Congratulations Italy 🇮🇹 after 7 years they beat Wales and Great sportsmanship for Welsh Josh Adam gave his player of the match medal to Ange capuozzo. I hope Italy Rugby good in future from USA 🇺🇸
There’s something so satisfying about seeing one of those “it’ll take something special to win the game” moments actually ending in something special.
I am a welsh man young man derserve the win Cymru am byth 🏴🏴🏴
Nice job Italy 🤩
From France
I have rewatched so many times this try. No doubt, one of the best in his tournament. Capuozzo was altruist with this try assist, some players wouldn't have passed the ball to a teammate (i.e. Monty Ioane or Hogg).
Capuozzo displayed a great awareness indeed - great decision too for passing the ball to Padovani. Congrats to Italy from Australia. 🙌
Of course this is his decision alone, but he has been trained, and plays in France.
You say it. I'm a bit disappoint for that play of Ioane, it was a possibly great try.
But I also understand that the boy is maybe a bit frustrated cause the team does not enhance his characteristic speed and there is not many possibilities for him to run.
@@uberboiz 🙌 GRAZIE 😄😄
What a great push by Wales No.20, which assists Padovani to the try. Good work Italy.
very cynical. deserves a suspension for the following games IMHO.
he needed that boost to catch up with Cappi to be in place for the pass
Yes I agree , but he could easily have fallen over and then a penalty try anyway. Best try of the 6 Nations by far, so happy for Italy and also Ferrari 1-2 in F1.
Monumental from all angles. One of my new favourite players now is Josh Adams. Fantastic achievement from Italy, they were always in that game and showed their value.
Onore agli Azzurri... Abbiamo anche una buona Under-20..
Speriamo bene per il futuro 🇮🇹🇮🇹
I think the pass to the winger was the most skilful part. Incredible play.
Kicking the ball away again. Why this obsession with box kicks especially in the final minute of a game. Ridiculous. That said from a Welshman congratulations Italy ❤️
Fair point, sometimes fundamentals can be drilled into a team’s heads, definitely better to keep possession for a couple minutes then risk what ended up happening.
Very good point. Anyway Wales is always a great team with an incredible tradition. I mean guys, you are just 3 million people and you are always kicking a... against teams which can count on a much bigger amount of players. If you had as many players as England you would probably beat New Zealand 3 out of four times. Greatest respect and admiration from Italy.
I wonder how many times Italian fans have watched this? I'm Scottish and already I'm in double figures. As a skinny guy myself I love seeing a 70kg guy carving it up.
A lot... Really... We've been waiting for 36 long matches..
Amazing run ; as agile as a jack rabbit - wonderful to watch. Great result for Italy and well deserved. 👍
That final in and away...beautiful
Brilliant.....just brilliant! A touch of the Sid Goings. Forza Italia.
Best try of the whole competition.
From Lyon, France.
I'm watching it over and over 💪🇮🇹💙
Anche io ....
Wonderful! He rips through the defence and just as he approaches the line he passes to ensure the win!
Capuozzo’s break is brilliant but Padovani’s support run is superb. He also resisted an illegal charge from a Welsh player that understood his danger and was right there, in the perfect place, at the perfect time, running the perfect line to bring the try right under the post. Amazing Rugby here.
Una gran victoria de los Azzurri. Enhorabuena!!
What a score !
Congratulations Italy!
What's with this obsession about the English? Is it possibly envy that England are the only northern hemisphere team to win the World Cup?🥳
🤣🤣🤣

One of the best try I have ever seen, bravo les Italiens.
ANGE CAPUOZZO NUMBER ONE!!! ORGOGLIO ITALIANO!!!!
allenato in Francia comunque.
Cracking little player that Capuozzo and the vision and selflessness at the end. Well done Italy, completely deserved and much needed.
Bravissimo italia!
such a fantastic run, and the vision to spot to opportunity is excellent by capuozzo. it makes sense when looking at the actions during and the players on that side of the pitch for wales. faletau is the furthest out with adams on his inside at the kick. they drift to the right and adams is the first tackle missed. from there he only has to beat one back with a step (21, who i think is sheedy), and the rest are slower, tired out forwards that he can run past only needing to pass to padovani to eliminate any chance of being wrapped up by the last defender . exhaustion, lack of expectation and poor positioning cost wales there.
Could someone forward this clip to Stuart Hogg please, as an example of how a professional international rugby player executes a 2 on I scoring opportunity under pressure.
Still makes me smile. Epic skills and awareness. Forza italia - from an Englishman!
best try of the tournament, and when you consider the timing of it, the opposition, the place, and the occasion, it's possibly the best try of all time.
Steady on
@@oldoddjobs yeah, you're right
South Africa vs. Japan 2015, more important
Pace e Amore 💐👏👏👏
Nice to have skilful fast players again Instead of just muscle bound mountains.
Sono d'accordo.
Brilliant! Well done Italy
...when I saw that live I basically could not believe my eyes....!!! Such a great moment for Italian rugby...!!!
Bravo les Italiens
Brilliant try and moment. Good for the whole championship and I hope Italy kick on from this.
Try of the championship, well done Italy , great to see them win , this is why they should stay in 6nations never mind South Africa
Fair play to them... Great to see☺
Grazie ragazzi per questa vittoria!
Beautiful rugby, teamwork, absolute perfection. So happy to see Italy show such class, and a well deserved win.
Viva Italia❤️❤️❤️
Mitico Capuozzo!!!!!!❤🇮🇹
Best try of the 6 Nations 2022 Season
Magnificent try, delighted for Italy, sorry for Wales,
That was really well done, fair play!
The best try of 2022🍾
I'm Welsh but a win is a win
Well done Italy !
He avoided Welsh players just the way I avoid my problems 😆😆😆
After the penalty shootouts at Euro2020 final, final 4x100 relay at Olympics, this try has soon became my new black in terms of "lets play it again and again and again..."
This is up there with Elliot Dalys try from 2017. I could watch this alllll day 😅
Grazie a tutti! W L'ITALIA 🇮🇹💪🏻
Wales kicked possession away and Capuozzo capitalised
Best run of the tournament imho
Sono italiana ed amo la Francia. Capuozzo: mio idolo!🇮🇹🥂🇨🇵
That's probably try of the tournament there, what a fucking step hahaha
Even the medic start to run! Great 😂🤣
And point out the runner on the inside. It was a crucial pass to make the winning conversion an easy kick.

Try of the year 22
I was delighted with this result for the Italians. Especially now as the football team failed to qualify for the World Cup in back to back finals.
Beautiful
Big , Big Italy

Amazing try but why did the Welsh kick away possession with 90 seconds left to play?
maybe to score the 4th try and earn the bonus point!
Try of the championship
Ange Capuozzo is the Paolo Rossi of rugby.
Grande Italia ,ma grande Capuozzo sangue Napoletano
Was it really necessary for 20 Wales to push 14 Italy like that? Possible dirty play? In any event, it looks like the push actually helped since 14 got further away from 20 as it happened. Well done, Italy. For once the underdog is top dog.
please don't tell them. I think that that was the final touch which gave us the best chance for the try.
beautiful try. Vomoss Savoy Blue
The best are the faces of wales's fan! Nothing against them but the faces say it all!
You are 6 points ahead with less than 2 minutes left in the game do you....
1. Keep the ball in hand and play down the clock
or
2. Kick away possession
-_-
Welsh 9: Yes
Well boyo bach I think you kick it away isn't it?
Wow 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹

What a fantastic try, amazing. Shame the Welsh guys fell asleep.
Ange Capuozzo steps
Josh Adams YAA UHH
just to point out how sly was number 20 welsh who tried to push down Padovani as him realized what was going to happen...
Just a question for all...Why at minutes 78' the Number 9 of Wales kick? Other two rucks and kick out...game finished. I Think that has been superficiality of the kicker. What do you Think?
