I'm so glad my wife didn't attempt to make me give up skateboarding! It's part of my being! Forest Gump isn't real, but you are, and you are really out there accomplishing A goal! So much respect and admiration!
I was one of the dudes that suggested you wear a vest. Not for one second would I be offended if you chose not too man. You dont need to explain yourself to anyone and thanks for the kind words about doing whats true to you. As a 37 year old with a family everyone thinks I am an absolute mad man for learning how to skate in my 30’s. But its been one of the best things I have ever done for my soul!! Stay safe man and so stoked for your journey!! 🤘
With all of the division in our country, it is cool to see how willing people are to help and connect with one another. No politics, no agendas... just people helping people. Amazing to see!
That’s a good lesson for everyone. Go and live. You’re the one who has to wake up to the life you created everyday. So live the life that makes the sun shone upon your face everyday. A life un-lived is no life at all. Be safe brutha. And most importantly have fun.
Love how you say there's a high dryness, high wind fire advisory, and the guy at 9:15 throws a hot lit cigarette right into the brush. People that litter cigarettes are some of the worst people.
Chad you deserve so many more subscribers after 50 tricks 50 states and now this. Truly inspirational. No other UA-camr doing this kind of thing right now. You are the man!
Found this channel a week ago. I've been hooked ever since.... What an epic quest... I remember riding my board countless miles in a day. Not even sure how far.... Ive always been curious what my skater leg odometer mileage is .... This journey warms my heart.... Hope you remain safe and you find success... So awesome
Chad, save the wheels! You could auction them off or something to raise money. I'm sure some folks would love to have those. Or even for yourself to save.
Va. Beach is excited for your arrival and the Jackalope festival. Swing by 17th St. Surf shop at the Oceanfront and locals ❤ Pungo Board House, bring your board, PBH has a killer ramp.
Mad respect my dude. randomly found your channel a couple of days ago, on a rainy depressing day. i've really enjoyed u're journey & content so far. it just has something really smoothing and also calming flair to it. something special you got there! greetings from germany
@ChadCaruso I currently live in San Diego & my car was recently stolen back in December and the stigma of not being able to drive to my destinations such as work & school has been a drag. Watching your documentation lately of your skate accross America has been incredibly inspiring & helping me realize I don’t need a car to be happy & succeed. You motivated me to start wanting to skate all over San Diego county again & to openly welcome the challenge of staying motivated :) Please don’t give up!! You’re doing something really amazing here ❤
I'm so sorry that happened to you! California has absolutely ZERO protection for their communities! HOWEVER they protect criminals like they're royalty!! I hope things get better there ❤
I'm really surprised a wheel company didn't sponsor you. You basically gave them a real world durability test. Board and trucks too. A skate shop sponsoring you would have been a good investment too.
Even though it's more dangerous without the hi-viz vest, I appreciate your bravery for just going out and doing the things you want to do in life. So many people, including myself, are just too scared to do the things they want. Been watching everyday of this trip, and it gives me courage to eventually do my own long solo trip. Keep up the good work brother.
I just binged the first 3 weeks of this trip. you're still several days away from being anywhere I could drive to, so I donated to the gofundme. this is super inspiring, not just for skateboarding, but for living your life to the fullest. I think the positive affects of this could reach further than you can imagine. I also really hope you hit that 100k subs mark, I would like to see a kickflip on the 9.5 :)
5:17 "Do what you love to do in this life, no matter what just go for it" BEST ADVICE EVER. There are religions, philosophies and fortunes based on making this advice complicated or on trying to explain it. I've came back to this video several times. This message is STRONG and it resonates with me. Thank you Chad.
I dont even skateboard but just watching you go through this journey is just awesome. Everyday im waiting to see your video, love your purpose. Stay safe out there, all the interactions have been great.
Saw your journey on IG about a week ago. Just checked your channel more and can’t believe you were at my local park in Bristol, VT! Excited to keep following your journey, really enjoying each video. Stay safe out there.
I totally get where you are coming from on the high visibility vest. I am scared for your safety but hearing you talk about it I feel the same way in my life often times so I completely get it.
I don’t agree with your reasoning to not wear a vest but I totally understand it as a skateboarder on my own journey. I will support this trip no matter what. You’re a legend for this Chad
Yeah.. I don't really get it. It's not like a helmet that's actually heavy and uncomfortable. A vest is very light. Idk. I still support him as well but am kinda worried knowing that so many people even that one truck driver had recommended him to wear one and he's not going to :| Oh well.
He should be wearing wayyy more performance clothes than black cotton shirts. Really doesnt seem like the outfit for travelling 3k miles by foot essentially
Well…do you think if we see a sign that says “no skateboarding” that we shoulda kinda follow that? Not that high-vis is a rule/bylaw but same deal. He could’ve had helmet, full pads and vest and GoPro on the helmet and this and that and this. He’s doing just fine. Skateboarding is about fun and freedom. 👍✌️
@@memorysometimers3067 It's not about "not following rules" though. It's just so damn simple to put on a cheap, lightweight vest that CAN prevent accidents. If you can take simple, easy measures to protect yourself that don't even limit comfort, then why not do it? By your logic, the same would apply to other scenarios like safe sex. Why wear a condom if there's a small % chance it won't work? I and everyone sane says - cause there's still a huge % of chance wearing it WILL WORK.
Love the laid back chat and the way you treat everyone as a friend Chad. I'm an older geezer but loving the daily update and blown away by 50 miles plus you manage. With you on not wearing yellow health and safety vests..that's not skateboarding..croftee
You really made alot of peoples day. Seeing you and thinking you're in need and so being kind hearted people that they are they stop. Stop where ever they are headed just for you. That still shows that there is kind people out in this world.
What u said in the middle of the video about wearing a vest I feel the same way. I'm very cautious but if something happens to me that was destiny & meant to be. I couldnt have changed the outcome if I wanted to. I was skating 5miles to work like I always do & everyone said not to it's dangerous. I ended up getting hit by a car while on the corner waiting for a car to pass so I can cross at the crosswalk. There was nothing I could've done to avoid that. Sometimes ur luck just runs out sadly. Keep pushing hard ur so inspiring. I hope to do the same trip next yr
I agree about not wanting to wear a hi-vis vest. Some people will see that and be drawn to it like a moth to a flame and end up putting you at more risk. Good luck with this journey !
Man this was an incredible achievement to even make it this far, I know the water thing is an issue if you want to drink lots of it with the weight, but I think you should have drank way more water during this, even if you didnt feel dehydrated, it's so hardcore drink the amounts you were per day with this kind of heat and physical activity. Props for making it this far even I'm on the Playlist for the rest of the trip. Such a huge undertaking and you actually did it.
