I discovered your videos yesterday and watched quite a few. To say the least I couldn’t sleep last night and had to get up and search for a book I could use. You have got my creative juices flowing and will start one today. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us. You are an amazing artist please keep sharing with all of us.

Lorri I'm watching ALL your videos. I love your teaching method. You make so much sense to me...I have to go get a bunch of supplies now. I live in a small town way up north in The Pas Manitoba Canada. It snowed again today so I'm making deli sheets with what I have. I'm roughing up one side of parchment paper with sand paper. lol
kelly.....i am so glad you have found 'our village'! i am having so much fun with the videos.....glad you are too....san francisco bay area....no snow here darling! roughin' up the parchment paper...great idea! see you on the table...

oh my goodness susan....there are over 250 of my videos....so....go grab a cuppa and settle in! lol....thank you so much for the comment susan....see you o n the table!!!
I love this so much. I kept thinking as I watched it that the red-haired focal point behind the pop-up is like a metaphor for you peering out of your own work. Which of course is how art SHOULD be (in my own opinion), with the artist somehow visible in some subtle way. Anyway, thank you a million times for your knowledge and talent, and your generosity in sharing it with us. ❤️
So... mine turned out a success, it isn't perfect but it was so much fun and all my pieces came together like they were made for each other! I enjoyed this process so very much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I love your process! It is magical. You are a reverse archaeologist. Your foundational garments remind me of making broth for a delicious soup. It might become unrecognizable but the goodness is still in there.
and that is the perfect description tca! thank you...it is just like making a yummy soup! what ya got in the kitchen? toss it in! yay.....see you on the table tca!
I know you started adding the amazon links a few videos back. What an EXCELLENT quick resource! I am sharing the whole list of them with our 10-member round robin altered book club that starts meeting NEXT WEEK!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for introducing us to the Stabilos, I got mine today from Amazon, the leads were all broken, but I got them. Love them...
Another masterpiece! I will really be giving this project a try. the pages really pop with intrigue. in all its uniqueness. and your focal points are awesome!
well....thank you agp! i love the pop-ups in the books....i love the interactivity that they create....more interest in the books....i hope you enjoy this project....go create, go play, go have fun!!!
I love watching these videos and your use of terminology is attractive. Underpants is a good way to explain what you mean. Thanks for your time and expertise
oh del.....thank you so much! youtube did not like me saying 'underpants' but....they are used to me now...lol...i love to create these videos....i wish i could make one everyday...but...yeah.....other thngs need to be done too...go create, go play, go have fun!!!
Well, I started an altered book!!! However, I ended up painting on almost all of the new pages. So now its mostly just a bunch of pictures I painted. (I painted a lot of trees too. I don't know why *shrugs shoulders*) I'll try to upload a video at some point. Thank you again for showing me how to do this. I had no idea where to start until I came across your page.
I have been binge watching your channel for days and days. Somewhere in there I kept seeing flashes of this pop-up but I could never find the tutorial until today! This week I was in the car and the truck in front of me had an I.d. Number high up on the back. It was 8064 and I thought of you and your stabillo! Ha! Ps. Im trying to join your FB group. No luck. Im sure it has something t do with underpants! Ha!
8046 lic. number...wowza! i would love that! lol... go to facebook type in the search Our UA-cam Village ta da....there are 3 questions for you to answer for admin since it is a closed group...let me know if that works....and yes...keep your underpants on minka!!!
I don't care for some of the art you make, but your processes are so intriguing I had to subscribe. I make junk journals and I get some good ideas from you. You just might make a mixed media artist out of me! You are amassing;u creative.
wow peggy....this comment means so much to me!!! thank you!!! thank you so much for taking the time to stay in touch...i am here for inspiration only peggy!!! so again...thank you! go create, go play, go have fun!!!!
Fun page! I have done some gluebooks with magazine images. I use a cotton cloth to burnish the magazine pages down and try to prevent wrinkles. Works pretty well. Do it from the middle out.🤓
Thanks for sharing this. I can't wait to try it. I got a vintage book at a thrift shop, it's a children's book. I feel bad to cut & glue it. I will force myself because you have made this look so fun. I find your work endlessly fascinating ,& I've been binge watching your videos today. Thanks for sharing your expertise ! :)
i don't know where you are stephanie...but....it has been raining here in the phoenix, arizona area all day...the perfect day to binge watch creative videos...i am so glad you chose mine! and...i 'save' many books but altering them...they are grateful to have a new story to tell!!! lol....see you on the table stephanie!!!
Another beautiful piece of art LorrieMarie. My books are coming together nicely. I’m just wondering about the beautiful, whimsical faces you use as focal points. I have heard you mention it but I didn’t write it down. Please let me know? Keep teaching and saying underpants 😊 also, I find your commentary so soothing......and the tummy grumbles 💕💕💕💕💕
oh those blasted tummy grumbles!!! lol...but who wants to stop playing to eat??? lol...these faces are from a magazine...Haute Dolls...no longer in print...darn it! keep looking and thank you for joining me on the table!!!
oh my goodness lynnette...thank you for taking me along with you during your quarantine! how did you find 'us'? binge away! 'we' have over 400 videos so you may want to sign up for another 14 day quarantine! lol...just sayin'....lol.....see you on the table lynnette!
LorriMarie..I'm just loving everything you are doing!! Thank you so much for showing us all your fab techniques. I just discovered you on Monday and have been watching your videos when ever I have a chance and am loving them. I want to know...where are you getting all these amazing faces and pics , they are just gorgeous! What are your favorite magazines to clip/tear from?
I just made my first pop-up on a two spread. Wow! You make it look so easy lol. This one is rather crude but I had fun following your instructions. I learned a lot from this one - I'm calling it my practice project. I'm reluctant to send you a pic but maybe I will after I finish embellishing it :)
oh del.....i would love to see it....i always say....make a 'take two'....we learn so much with the first one, right? i am so glad you tried this....it is not any easy one....but oh so delightful....so del....go create, go play, go have fun!!!
Another question, from that pop up video, where did you find those great images? The girl and the face??? Great pics! I've been looking for magazines with oddities and cool images to use. Bought some beauty mags for pretty women, but nothing like I've seen you use.....
dearest fonda....there is a doll magazine that is no longer in print... Haute Dolls....some of the magazines can be found...some are great....some are not so great...i had cut all mine up before i found out that they are no longer in print...darn it! so....happy hunting fonda! see you on the table...
Thanks for the 3 ways. Do you have more than 3 demos for different types /styles for pop ups? I don’t know which to try first, probably the picket one....it looks easiest! One baby step at a time....lol🤩
Hi! Where did you get the white “squeegee” you used in this video? (The link in the email you responded to didn’t work.) This is SO cool!I am still making my way through all your videos! (Binge, binge, binge!) I want that squeegee! ❤️
so sorry the link did not work...it is a wallpaper tool....i am sure any hardware store will carry them...go create, go play, go have fun crafty addict!
laura susan....we must 'speak art'...ha ha! i am so glad you are on the table with us! i think this is your first time leaving a comment....thank you so much for taking the time to do that! go create, go play, go have fun!
Just found your channel. Such a fun, inspiring project! I already tried your crumpled receipts technique so looking forward to making a pop up. Are there any specific magazines you could recommend for collage elements?
i use alot of art magazines, craft, haute dolls, juxtapoz, hi-fructose and somerset.....nothing is safe i am afraid....lol....i am so glad you found 'us'! see yo on the table....
I just recently discovered you!! I love your videos! This one is awesome!! You mention that the pop up could be a door! I want to do that but not sure how to fold that????
Hi LorriMarie love to you from the UK I think your fab I like to be you when I grow up 😀. You always find such great focal points I'm wondering if you buy lots of interesting magazines? Thanks for the inspiration.
i never buy new magazines....used book stores or library book sales....or....lots are gifted to me....that is the best! lol...may i never grow up!!! see you on the table phillipa...
i have not sonja...are they wonderful? i am such a stabilo fan! i see by the next comment that you are getting a stabilo too....life changing my friend...enjoy! we are heading home tonight...so...see you on the table sonja!
I just stumbled across your videos and now I am addicted. I start one if your projects then see another video and hop off in that bunny trail. You are so quirky and fun. Thank you! Ps. Is there a “beginning” video that introduces your story? I’m getting a little lost with some on your references. ❤️❤️❤️
ooooooh jerre...let me know what references are confusing...lol...i really do not have a beginning story...i just wing it! lol...thank you for joining us! see you on the table jerre!
May I suggest that instead of using spit on your finger for blending the stabilo, have a damp sponge nearby for moistening instead. You don't want to get stabilo in your mouth!
great question connie....are they to have a purpose other than being art? hmmmmm.....they become an art sculpture and i sell them practically as fast as i can make them...so what is their purpose? to create!!! yay for art! thank you for taking the time to leave a comment connie! see you on the table..
you set me up with 12 people in ct. for a workshop and i will pack my bags gail! woot woot! have fun with the pop-up page my friend...see you on the table...
OMGoodness...lol. I enjoy watching you and allll your videos are wonderfully unique. But this one, while I do love it, is just creepy....lololol I will try this in a book as soon as I have a chance but ohhh I cNt imagine what comments I will receive...lolol (Mary Harris)
Maybe is a silly question but I really wanna know: do you add some water to the mod podge or do you use it direct from the bottle? It's wrong to add water to it? Thank you :)
that is not a silly question at all victoria! i do not dilute the glue at all....i use it straight from the bottle...i buy it by the gallon! lol.....see you on the table victoria!
thank you so much cholmesing....the squeegie is like for applying wallpaper...nothing fancy...here is the link to amazon if that helps... amzn.to/2KNAvBF see you on the table...
oh my gosh....i love this pop up technique....i have been itching to make another one...i have to wait for the next book tho....i just have one page left in the book i am playing with now....see you on the table joan...
We’re do u get your focal point the large pictures like this? I can’t find anything!!! I absolutely love love watching u on here!! I wish I lived in Cali I’d be taking your classes!
well lisa....my focal points...lol....no magazine is safe around me! lol...fashion magazines, art magazines....i buy magazines at library book sales....hi-fructose, juxtapoz, somerset....any art magazine really....you will start finding them in the darnedest place lisa...hang in there! see you on the table lisa...
Ok lol I’ve been looking for magazines can’t find crap lol maybe Illinois don’t know how to be crafty! They sue love raising taxes lol I’ve been looking for anything and all stores have are golf sports kids teen mag etc nothing colorful maybe I’ll try Barnes and noble they should have lots of good magazines I hope lol thank u love watching your videos I watch like 23 hrs a day lol I know get a life I love your work!
so lisa...while you are at barnes and noble....look for the october art journaling....by stampington (somerset)...you will find a few pages of one of my books in there...wowza, right? in fact...cut it up and use it in your altered book....you will find way too many choices in that book store....but remember...library book sales are pretty awesome too!!! see you on the table lisa...
do you live where it is hot and humid? i do not have much of a problem here...it is high and dry....some people rub a waxed candle on their pages, some rub waxed paper on the pages...i have dusted mine with baby powder in the humid, hot months and that is enough to keep the pages from sticking...i hope some of these tips help.....i know it is frustrating....see you on the table maria!
lol....this is one of my older videos sis....i have learned so much about the filming and editing since then....i even film right side up now...lol....thank you for your support sis!!!! see you on the table...
hey there linda....any art books i can get my hands on! lol.....hi-fructose, juxtapoz, haute dolls, somerset....they are quality magazines and the pages are nice and thick...yay! thank you for taking the time to ask...see you on the table...
i am a bit of a scavenger jayc...coffee table books, magazines, anything i can get my hands on at library book sales or second hand book stores....these larger faces are from a 'haute doll' magazine which is no longer in print...so there you have it....good luck on your hunt! see you on the tabe jayc....
Would a charcoal pencil give the same effect as the stabilo? Or would that transfer to other pages and fingers? Awesome video as always. PS - how about underlayer? 😜
well hello trupti.....nothing is like a stabilo i am afraid...sorry....charcoal pencil will work in a pinch i suppose...and then it will need to be sealed.... funny you should ask about the #underpants....i have been getting away with it for a few weeks...got dinged today....never give up....never surrender...see you on the table....
When you put saliva on your paper towel and wipe the face, it reminded me of my mum on our way into church making sure all our faces were clean with her saliva on her hanky....lol
i go to library sales and to used book stores.....the 'eerie' ones come from the hi-fructose, juxtapoz and haute dolls....the whimsical ones come from somerset magazines.....you will have fun digging through old magazines staci....finding that perfect focal point! see you on the table!
yes i have just started not to long discovered your channel so i have done this pop-up one and the hidden area at the back of the book, going to try the double tag next. I love your focal points but the magazines i get here in Barbados dont have as nice ones but i will make what i have work lol
You have so many doable ideas !!! I love your work. I ordered from Amazon Smile....( I help raise money for the agency who cares for my son).....then I realized you get monetized for using your link.....so I went back and ordered so you would get credit . I do not know how to give you credit AND use Amazon Smile....

Which of course is how art SHOULD be (in my own opinion), with the artist somehow visible in some subtle way. Anyway, thank you a million times for your knowledge and talent, and your generosity in sharing it with us. ❤️

You don't want to get stabilo in your mouth!
been suggested Regina...great idea! start out with good habits...right?
Thankyou so much, your work is so inspiring
thank you heather! go create, go play, go have fun!!!
my Stabilo and transfer foil are on the way from Amazon!!

What are the purpose of these books if you can't write in them .

LorriMarie Jenkins thank u and I sure will look for the magazine. Thank u for all your help I’m waiting till payday to join patrons thanks again
LorriMarie I wanted to ask you - How do you preserve pages, so the mod podge does not sticks together?
do you live where it is hot and humid? i do not have much of a problem here...it is high and dry....some people rub a waxed candle on their pages, some rub waxed paper on the pages...i have dusted mine with baby powder in the humid, hot months and that is enough to keep the pages from sticking...i hope some of these tips help.....i know it is frustrating....see you on the table maria!
Thank you. I live in the second floor, when the sun hit the roof all day it does get very hot. I will try the baby powder-
this is great! had a lot of fun with this! tfs xo
lol....this is one of my older videos sis....i have learned so much about the filming and editing since then....i even film right side up now...lol....thank you for your support sis!!!! see you on the table...

Lorrie Marie where do you get your delicious olde 📚 books
Great question! Library sales, thrift stores...and once folks know that you are looking for these yummy books, many are gifted.
See you on the table!
Lorrimarie- where do you get your wonderful big images to use in your projects? They look "sturdy and clear and colorful.
hey there linda....any art books i can get my hands on! lol.....hi-fructose, juxtapoz, haute dolls, somerset....they are quality magazines and the pages are nice and thick...yay! thank you for taking the time to ask...see you on the table...
Can you tell me were do you get your images from as I love some of your faces etc, great videos
i am a bit of a scavenger jayc...coffee table books, magazines, anything i can get my hands on at library book sales or second hand book stores....these larger faces are from a 'haute doll' magazine which is no longer in print...so there you have it....good luck on your hunt! see you on the tabe jayc....
I made this yesterday! It is AWESOME!
send me a photo of your piece....i cannot wait to see it!!!!!
When you put saliva on your paper towel and wipe the face, it reminded me of my mum on our way into church making sure all our faces were clean with her saliva on her hanky....lol
my sons would have to agree with you...many a 'spit shine' face in their past! loving hearing from you julianne!
I know u get asked this a lot, I’m sure. But where are u getting all your cool graphics used in your projects?
i go to library sales and to used book stores.....the 'eerie' ones come from the hi-fructose, juxtapoz and haute dolls....the whimsical ones come from somerset magazines.....you will have fun digging through old magazines staci....finding that perfect focal point! see you on the table!
Since I am watching these out of order, Is this the center of the altered book?
not actually the center...but it certainly could be the center....i just put these darned pop ups where ever there is space! see you on the table!

You have so many doable ideas !!! I love your work. I ordered from Amazon Smile....( I help raise money for the agency who cares for my son).....then I realized you get monetized for using your link.....so I went back and ordered so you would get credit .
