Folk-rocking in the best sense of the term. After the Shadows album, I was one Billboard writer who put it in my annual Top 10 at the end of 1982. A colleague there came to me after lunch the first time he heard "Blackberry Wine." He'd been tuned to Vanderbilt Univ. radio. He said, "You won't believe what I just heard. I think Gordon Lightfoot has some of the Stones backing him on this record called 'Blackberry Wine.'" I told him it was nothing new, that he'd gone electric by 1967.
Found Blackberry wine at the bottleshop and had to get it, because of this song. It's delightful.
SAME
Thanks to this song for making me find Blackberry wine. It's delicious and findable in the Pacific Northwest.
Of all the songs I've ever heard Gordon do, this is my favorite.

I can go for a glass right now to Gordons’ singing❤
From one of the finest albums he ever released...which is saying a lot.
