I went to Carlisle! Carlisle is probably the best Volvo/import meet you've never heard of. Many Volvo faithful here in the US know about it, but for our international friends it might be a bit of a mystery. I tried to give you a just a small flavor of what this awesome car meet is all about by check out some fun stuff and some amazing cars, especially some glorious Volvos.
2 apologies: 1) unbeknownst to me my mic broke and the audio in this video sucks. That is being rectified in future videos. And 2) half of my footage did not transfer from the SD card in the GoPro due to a battery change mid day that corrupted many of the files. This is what I could salvage and I think it came out pretty well despite only having half of what I shot.
Regardless, I hope you enjoy this video and hop to capture all 3 days, with equipment in tact, next year!

Where did you get a red one? I am dying to need a car some day, so I can buy a Volvo S80! I have never seen a red one!
One of my neighbors has a S80 V8 and I'm so jealous. I thought about knocking on the door to see if they wanna sell it 😂
If you live in the US you can get them for a bargain. There are a couple for sale in Minnesota for 7k-9k.

Looks a bit like the Vallåkra meet, but in the US.
By the way the engine code for the Yamha / Volvo V8 is B8444S.

at 10:02 that was cool. I know you probably dont care but in Sweden there is a type of car called a-traktor you can drive from age 15 and the meanwhile there are new rules today, the old rules made people chop up volvos in to pickups to make them legal to drive. So there are probably more Volvo 740 & 940 pickups than normal versions in Sweden. You can look them up everywhere if your interested to see one. They only exist in Sweden!
Awesome content....really cool that Volvo won the exhaust challenge too...long time fan of Volvo...not sure if you've done any reviews on the Amazon 122S? But a HUGE lover of Wagons and their is NOOOO car manufacture that represents wagons like Volvo.

Yup! Carlisle, PA. I believe the dates in 2019 are around May 19th. Look at their website and check out Carlisle Import Nationals.

The S80s are cool. They even offer a Dynamic suspension (Sport package) I prefer the turbocharged T6 over the V8. About the same performance as the V8 but with a tune it surpasses the V8.
I have an XC90 V8 I would do an S80, but I like being able to tow my boat. The Yamaha V8 sounds awesome, mine is bone stock.

Just watched your vid on your V70R.
You will NEVER persuade me to buy a Volvo EVER!
Got one, had 'em for years. I'm a retired cop and he UK cops drove them for 30 years.
I'm an old man now at 64 going on 24 and had S60s, V70s and an S80. D5s and T5s so I get the wonderful growl!
Best is the D5 but don't think you have it over the pond. That's a shame cos it's unbelievably economical. Monitored D5 brim to brim fuel use for donkey's years and regularly get 45-55 mpg without trying. Geartronic 6 speed too! Heavy car.
Best I've had is 69 mpg. Couldn't believe it so I did exactly the same route and got 68. It's easy in a Volvo.
The main reason for a Volvo on anyone's drive should be safety/build quality/awd. I'd prefer was but good ones are becoming rare here which took me to think of buying an old one to restore.
Might make sense.

Haha oh I understood the wrap itself, but why on an Opel Calibra!? That made no sense. Especially since those weren't a car imported to the US. Maybe it was just the "foreign car meets all America wrap?" Either way it was great. And the wood wrap is weird. I love weird. It was well done too. Looked like real wood!

Yea i have the V8 S80 here in California but there rare. The most common S80 is the non turbo inline6 which is terrible
parts for the R models here in sweden are expensive compared to your american volvo parts i own volvo 850R 1997 with 550hp and S70R 1997 with 450hp all parts are original and genuine :D
My s60 is still beautiful inside.

Connor Piper if the s60 never got the v8 then how dose it happen that i see them every once in a while, idk about the us but here in sweden its not that uncommon to see them!
Unless they somehow swapped them, but the V8 did not exist until 2007. Also the V8 is a larger engine and probably not possible to fit inside the S60.
I am guessing you are seeing S80s and thinking they are a S60.
Also, if you search for S60 V8 you do not get one example of the 4.4L V8 stock fitted to a S60, Wikipedia and Volvo Newsroom both agree.
Unless you are thinking about the S60 Supercar, which was not even similar to the production S60.
i own a S60 my self so yeeeh naah, ive looked up some of the plates and it says Volvo S60 V8 when i look em up tho :D
I mean, Volvo has only made one non-inline engine and it was the V8, so I doubt that things could get mislabeled. The S60 was never designed for the V8, and was never manufactured with a V-style engine.
Confused by the straight pipe comment, do you not need to have catalytic converters in the USA? Must be glorious having lax emissions regs unlike the UK!
Ugh I had two 2001 Volvo V70 T5's and wish everyday that I could have them back. Well, my second one. The first one was sorta shit, honestly.
So at that meeting there is lots of the best cars in the world

So I don’t think you know much above Volvos this is my first video I watched and will be my last but at the end before you get in the car on your left looks like a T5R they only made 2500 of them. So next time instead of filming regular brats and xc go check out the good Volvos
