- Highlights of the last few minutes of the Illinois-Michigan football game in Ann Arbor in 1993. Illinois made a stunning comeback to beat the Wolverines on a TD from Johnny Johnson to Jim Klein. Simeon Rice also shows up with a key forced fumble. (Sorry for the poor quality - I know it's not the greatest but it's better than nothing.)
Johnson’s evasion and pass are simply astonishing
I was at that one, what a heartbreaker for us. I remember 3 games where we didn't beat Illinois at home. That one, the year b4 where we tied, and we lost one in 1999. Ill's a wierd team.
We were watching on TV from Champaign and going nuts over the upset win. That's when my friend Ben popped up on the screen bear-hugging Lou Tepper (see 4:45 mark). Totally surreal.
I worked at the old plastipak factory in downtown Champaign. When I was leaving I could see fireworks 🎆 coming from the south of town near the UI campus. It all made sense later that Saturday night.
As big a state Illinois is surprised they have not been good
First Michigan for me in the Big house. Homecoming. When Wheatley injured his shoulder and Powers came in I knew it was over.
I saw Minnesota beat #1 Michigan 16-0 in 1977 at old Memorial Stadium it was a beautiful thing
What a sad ending for michigan against illinois
Michigan was a 26 point favorite in this game. I read the line from the back page of the sports section in the USA TODAY. I told a classmate that line is insane Illinois will win that game OUTRIGHT, he says Im insane I say put your money where your mouth is he gave odds of 200-1 I said give me 10 bucks on it. Thus making my payout 2k, I was taking his lunch money for the rest of 2 years and always knocked his books of the table to make him pay up. LOL what a great game,

I was at this game... Homecoming in Ann Arbor, October 23rd,1993.
I was at the game and it was a big disappointment for such a great homecoming game for Michigan.
Whatever happened to Johnny Johnson?
UA-cam TV
holy cow, i had completely blocked that game out of my mind, frosh at Mich at all at the time. but now it all comes back. Ricky. Prayer throw to a little geneva kid with no catches on the day. Michigan d-backs finding a way not to make a play. Lou effing Tepper. Wow.
Johnson had his flashes that's for sure.
no that game was at home against Michigan State IIRC - I was there watching it live - I'm thinking Mid-late 80s
what have you guys done recently
@FlameOfAnduril Hey, Illinois has beaten Michigan twice in a row. That's not something that's happened for a while.
I especially loved the Illini win over Michigan from last year. The game turned on the Illinois goal line...
It was 8 touchdowns actually, still the NCAA record.
LOL old Juice couldn't finish us off last season. See you in Ann Arbor.
Wait till next year- Juice and the Illini will annihilate Big Blue 52-0. I just hope Juice, Benn, and Dufrene stay for next year.
Simeon is washed up though. Did you see him in the UFL last year? he was terrible.
He needs to retire.
mmm... sucking.. hey yo man.. see ya in the fall.... ; P
idk.. recruited better? not sayin alot, but we're desperate! XD
