    Damn No Malice straight up talks like a preacher. "Hip hop is the only genre that eats its babies." Mad respect for him.

    Thanks for doing this piece CNN. I'm still amazed every time I hear No Malice speak at just how committed he is to the Lord. I pray that he is able to keep sharing his story and God uses it to change lives.
    Pusha is one of the best MC's ever. While I don't always agree with his message, I respect his skill and hustle. He makes rapping look easy

  • @mackalcime9263
    @mackalcime9263 10 років тому +64

    Another part that was dope is when the interviewer told Pusha, that "you understand that without the drug dealing you wouldn't have all this" and Pusha said, "no if I wasn't a great rapper, I wouldn't have all this" which is absolutely true. There are so much gangster/drug rappers that will never reach the legendary status that the Clipse has reached

      Personally I disagree with him but I do think it's refreshing to see him specifically consider his words. He didn't let the reporter put him in a box. He at least isn't being hypocritical in saying that drugs made him what he is.

    • @mackalcime9263
      @mackalcime9263 10 років тому +7

      SuperWolfkin it would be foolish for us to believe 100% that drug money didn't help. Like Im sure some expenses in their early career was funded with Drug money but still in all he would find success without it. It would probably just take him much longer

      He should've asked Bill if he felt the same way about the Kennedy family. Jfk's father was a bootlegger (liquor was that era's crack) and that's how the family rose to power. No one ever talks about that though...wonder why. Lol.

    I don't understand why they can't co-exist in a ying & yang type of way on another Clipse album. It would be creative and neat to hear Pusha's drug raps on 1 verse, and No Malice matching it with something that constrasts on the next verse.

    Amazing story. Pusha T is an amazing artist. Lyrically inclined and talks dope as smooth as a king pin. No Malice chose a different lane which I'm not particularly into, but I can respect. Lupe Fiasco almost retired when Chief Keef bombarded into the music industry. I listen to ALL rap. Trap, swag, conscious, you name it. Never have I ever listened to a song about murder or drug slinging and wanted to partake in such. I personally don't think it's the music that causes people to go crazy, but more so, the environment you grow up in. If I wake up to roaches, rats and dead bodies every morning, of course selling dope is going to seem fascinating enough to do. If I wake up in the suburbs inside a mansion, of course I can support such music and not feel the need to jeopardize my life. It's not a black or white situation. It's more about social class. The lower the class, the bigger the temptation.

      Dam near To, To late for that, mfs of generations really be afraid to admit they're from the suburbs. We're doomed!!! check 80% of black America. They all Wana bee gangsters, Wana bee thugs etc..
      We all know money, drugs, sex, violence sells. But to walk around on the daily like you're "about that life", when you're NOT, at all, is corny AF...
      Adults still playing make believe.!!
      Blk America is so insecure, self conscious and confused it ain't even funny..!
      Apparently it's cool to be from the ghetto or projects or hood, but how many people you heard bragging about how THEY qualified for EBT cards / food stamps or section 8 ????
      Exactly.!!!
      Priorities alllll messed up!!!
      These mfs ain't honest! Mfs walking around with kids they don't think of or take care of..!!! Making more absent baby mommas/ baby daddies.!
      Walking in $1000 pair of shoes but ain't got no car, cuz they can't afford the most expensive one, so they'd rather not drive period, because of the thought a stranger MIGHT create, of them NOT being some "baller" terrifies them, wild!... It's fr crazy...!!!
      Mfs be such frauds it's ridiculous.!!!
      Dam near unbelievable, it would be if I haven't met or known so many people just like that..
      Sad. Sad. Sad. Sad.
      Wish more folks could just be real, honest, and most of all comfortable with who they are...
      No reason for these beautiful, young, smart, intelligent, people to be so fake. To actually put in work/ effort to paint a different picture of themselves, FOR OTHERS!!! To be so dishonest with even themselves is brutal..!!! As sad as it is, it's ok for real ones like us real ones to sit back and chuckle at them from time to time.

    Phenomenal interview Bill. We really would like to see more stuff like this. Its definitely an eye opener and should be watched by our youth because they NEED to see this. Two perspectives to a life that has glamorous moments yet they reveal very dark pasts in which one brother now sees the bigger picture while the other continues his journey. I'm a big fan of the clipse, always will be. I like the fact that they're respective of each others decisions because something like this could've very well destroyed their sibling relationship. We're all humans, we make mistakes and some of us are still learning but at the end of the day the bigger picture MUST be seen in order to move forward as individuals and more importantly as a society.

    Dope. Looking back at it, its not so shocking that No Malice gave himself up to Christianity. He was always the "conscience" of the Clipse while Pusha was the young gunner. No Malice was always the wiser one and the one who used the most morality in his verses. As a clipse fan Im at peace with them keeping the legacy as it is (3 amazing albums) now and not ruining it by forcing it. Plus No Malice has made it clear there will be no reunion and I believe him. Pusha T is a good guy man. As far as the industry, he should follow his brother's path honestly. Both are still great to this day. Congrats to Push for having the title of president of G.O.O.D. Music. Also, congrats to No Malice for his turnover to God.

    Starting at 12:18 is the REAL message to the whole interview... then, skip to 13:18 - 14:14, EPIC! "That money at one time was out for my life." Then, he seals it with, "I have enough blood on my hands."
    I pray this brother is taking this much needed message to the masses in this dark industry... WakeUP!

    Is it possible to agree with two contradictions ? Because I understand where they both come from. I respect their approach and opinions. I would love a Clipse reunion but I respect "No Malice" decision. Life must go on.

    First off it makes me feel soon good to actually read y'all comments and it's not filled with an immature statements that don't make sense or simply put "hate comments"....now with that said I want to say all of you guys make a valid point, and all I want to add on is that... No matter what genre music/musicians we talk about we have to remember that nowadays they are not just selling us their music but also selling their lifestyles "brand" so we must remember weather they raping about selling drugs or getting in shoot outs I highly doubt they are out there doing either at this moments of their lives. Because of technology like the social medias UA-cam twitter Instagram's Facebook all of that they are easily accessible and if they say something in their music but that what they say don't reflect in these outlets that will affect they sells or their brand so they must keep an appearance that will convince you that what they rap and/or sing about seem like they are doing as they wrap or sing but that's not true most of them know they are in the business and the business they are in is Music and it will be stupid to actually do the things they say in their music in real life that's all. Thanks for some really good convo.
