Watch Mr Sujit Nair narrate NCP founder and former Maharashtra CM Sharad Pawar's life story. He was born in 1940 into a family of local farmer leaders in Baramati, approximately 100 km southeast of Pune, in the sugar-growing heartland of western Maharashtra. His father, Govindrao, played a crucial role in establishing cooperative sugar mills in the region.
Showing an early interest in politics, Pawar joined the youth wing of the Congress Party in 1958. By the early-to-mid 1960s, he emerged as one of the brightest young leaders in the party's Maharashtra unit. Under the guidance of Yashwantrao Chavan, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and the Congress's influential leader in the state, Pawar contested and won his first assembly election from Baramati in 1967.
During the Congress Party's split in 1969, he aligned himself with Indira Gandhi's faction, along with his mentor. Throughout the 1970s, Pawar steadily gained prominence within the party and secured a cabinet position in the state in 1975. Following the Congress's electoral defeat after the Emergency, the party split once again, with Pawar this time on the opposite side of Indira. At the age of 37, he became the youngest Chief Minister in Maharashtra's history in 1978, leading a coalition government of Congress (U) and the Janata Party. However, his tenure was short-lived, as Indira Gandhi dismissed the government soon after regaining power in 1980.
Pawar returned to the Congress fold in 1986 and, over the next decade, emerged as one of the party's most influential leaders.
Pawar's Fallout with the Congress and Formation of the NCP:
While Pawar remained in the Congress until 1999, tensions between him and the party leadership had been building for almost a decade. The assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, party leader and former Prime Minister, during an election rally in 1991 created a significant leadership vacuum within the party. Pawar openly expressed his aspirations to become the Prime Minister, considering the overwhelming electoral success of the party in Maharashtra under his leadership. However, veteran Congressman PV Narasimha Rao was chosen instead.
In his autobiography ""Life on My Terms - From the Grassroots to the Corridors of Power"" (2015), Pawar attributed the oversight to Sonia Gandhi, Rajiv's widow.
""Self-styled loyalists of 10 Janpath started saying in private conversations that Sharad Pawar's election as Prime Minister would harm the First Family's interest in view of his young age. 'Woh lambi race ka ghoda hoga (He will hold the reins for a very long time),' they argued,"" Pawar wrote.
Pawar's conflict with Sonia, however, was not the sole issue plaguing the Congress in the mid-1990s. At the time, the party had lost its hegemonic position in Indian politics and was plagued by internal conflicts and factionalism.
Sonia was elected as party president in 1998, which angered some veteran Congress leaders, including Pawar, who was the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha at the time. In his autobiography, former President and veteran Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee pointed out the deep sense of alienation felt by Pawar within the Congress as the reason behind his eventual departure.
In May 1999, as the country approached general elections, Pawar, along with senior Congress leaders PA Sangma and Tariq Anwar, raised concerns about Sonia's foreign origins, suggesting that it would be prudent for someone else to lead the party. Sonia immediately offered to resign, but to Pawar's dismay, she received an outpouring of sympathy and support from within the party.

I had met Mr. Pawar twice in early 70s in New Delhi.
Then happened to meet in New York after almost 14 years.
    I remember him asking me
Tu Rane na ? ( Are you Rane ? )

When unfortunate event of Latur earthquake happened, he was on the ground at a village called Killari, the ground zero of the earthquake. Sat on a good old foldable iron chair, this step made sure all the help needed started coming on the ground. Do not endorse his politics and policies but his action in events like this made him the tall leader of Maharashtra.

If we believe Pawar goes where growth is, he does not see it with BJP. He said so in his recent speech that bjp eats its allies. Plus in his long career he might have friends in BJP but he has never aligned with them. Maybe he thinks that will erode his base. I feel the split might be fabricated or arranged to save Ajit and other loyalists. But he himself will not align with BJP.

this sujit loser nair is unable to digest that his conspiracy theories are nothing but pulp fiction. there is zero benefit for anyone in this lame theory
bjp is not a dumb party to play into pawar's games... on the contrary, bjp stoops to any low to seize power.
bjp had comfortble majority already with gaddar shinde gang. so, there was no need for them to take in ncp MLAs and help pawar in the so called conspiracy. specifically when inducting NCP MLAs is disadvantageous considering that they have to leave minister seats and face the revolt from shinde gang.
The real reason is that shinde will be kicked out by Supreme Court in August 99% ... and bjp is trying to hang onto power in maharashtra for one more year until loksabha elections, so that they can manipulate the EC officers.
BJP knows very well that people of maharashtra is waiting to kick them out for stealing lakhs of crores worth of projects and move it to gujarat. so, they don't mind stooping even lower to remain in power as long as possible because anyway they cannot win if there was elections held.

Sharad pawar is a very very cunning man, who serves only his whipms. Ajit pawar, Praful patel are just doofus, and they know it. So everything happens in the lives of these guys are dictated by Sharad pawar and they just execute it. If Ajit and Praful have done this by themselves, it would prove them to be bigger doofuses 😂

He worked with all the parties and people he even helped Gujrat during earthquake...imagine Mr Modi did not utter Adani whereas Mr Pawar gave a full-length interview ...he could have been trident easily but he chose taking people along as well..

Sujit Sir, I want to share an incident about Alliance.
A political party name BSP was firmly established in UP and was led by Kanshiram ji. Sonia Gandhi sent Sharad Pawar to his office. He said I have been sent by the Congress party chief for an alliance. Kanshiram ji strictly said am the party chief if you require my assistance then I order you to come with party chief for further discussion & I don't want to talk with you Mr. Pawar... Sujit Sir, Kanshi Ram ji was the only person who passed the views, thoughts and ideas about Dr. B.R Ambedkar... Babasaheb clearly stated that the constitution of India will be fair to those who know how well to make the use of it & the ones who think that it's not effective will misuses the COI..

I had previously said CM Fadnavis saheb was dethroned and ordered to become Dy Chief Minister with Shinde saheb as CM by Delhi because Devendra Fadnavis sahib was actually governing Maharashtra well and had become a serious Delhi PM post contender like Yogi Adityanath. Modi still has many productive years ahead of him so such contenders can create ripples in the power structure as of now. The reason BJP has allowed NCP to enter the fray is to completely destabilise Maharashtra so that Mumbai can be carved out once the destabilisation becomes plainly visible to the ordinary Maharashtra manus. They have already finished Thakeray saheb and Pawar saheb, next they will finish off Ajit Pawar saheb by making him CM in sometime which will destabilise Maharashtra further and Eknath Shinde saheb is no grass roots leader who forms any threat to Delhi. Now, Maharashtra Congress - what is that? Mumbai will then be closely connected with Gujarat as it was pre 1st May 1960. This will become plainly visible within 5 years. Devendra Fadnavis sahib’s weakness is his list for power and he has made many miscalculations which has made his comeback very unlikely. He should have controlled his urge to become CM of India’s most powerful state money wise and waited for his moment.
Politics is all about keeping a transactional attitude, and cold calculation punctuated by irrational acts due to gollum like lust for power.

Shameless glorification of Sharad Pawar? Even Govind Talwalkar/Madhav Gadkari had not done this kind of glorification.
Balasaheb Thackeray once called Sharad Pawar "Beautiful erotic prostitute"
This prostitute makes erotic moves and attracts rich clients.. She then creates problem between client and his wife and tries to break their relationship.
After desired act, she ditches the client and moves on to find other clients.

It is said that Sharad Pawar was always targeting opportunities for growth which means it was in his blood and genes. The same would be in Ajit Pawar as well.
So what if others go after opportunities for growth. It should not bother Sharad Pawar. The famous proverb says, you reap as you sow.
Unfortunately, Sharad is very old and suffering from stroke etc and his appearance is totally not anywhere near one that can be projected for a leader. Also, able bodied persons should be given opportunities.
