As a matter of possible interest, the word "Muji" in Japanese means, approximately, "No Name." It is sold by a story by the same name, Muji, where all their products are similarly unbranded and minimalistic (hence the lack of other colors for this pen), but generally of good quality, and good value for the price. Their products include other stationery products like notebooks and inks. They currently have stores in North America in Vancouver, BC (4 stores), Portland OR, Toronto (5 stores), Boston, and New York (8 stores).
I really like my Muji pen, which I have installed with an international Schmidt converter. It is easy to miss in a drawer stocked with other, fancier pens, but one quality which I greatly appreciate is that the cap structure succeeds in preventing the nib from drying out for weeks at a time.

Interesting facts! I knew it was a minimalist inspired Japanese store. But unfortunately there aren’t any in my neck of the woods.

I have stared at this pen for over a year. I am glad you offered you review. The knurled grip is reminiscent of the Rotring 800. I think a standard international converted may work as it seems to have the Schmidt nib and feed.
The popping sound when removing the cap from posting is similar to the Monteverde Ritma. When pulling off the cap from the barrel, it pops. The tolerances are very tight.

It’s a great entry-level Fountain Pen, and does fit some Schmidt converters

I bought this 10 years and only recently did I find it by chance in my storage. I lost the clip that comes with the cap. It works flawlessly and in a month I’ve used LAMY & Kaweco cartridges and they work fine.

That’s impressive! The Schmidt nib is one of my favorites, reliable and fun to write with.

Since it's a Schmidt nib, and since the nib can be simply pulled out, couldn't a finer or broader Schmidt nib be bought separately to replace the one that came with the pen?

@@musar03580 absolutely, but you can’t get a different size out of the box

I love MUJI notebooks, but was less impressed by their pen. It ha potential and is a great price, but is not comfortable to use and isn't a pleasing writer. MUJI also has a white version of the Preppy.

@@AndrewWertheimer I’ve heard good things about their paper, but haven’t tried it personally. Unfortunately I don’t live by one of their stores

@@ForTheLoveOfPens true. It is slightly thicker and longer than Lamy CP1, also it has a simple bent metal clip and exists in brushed metal colour. Which makes it visually similar to Muji

I could've sworn I saw other colours back when I bought my 2nd one, over 10 years ago. Not bold colours, but colours nonetheless.
With regard to the tight fit to post it. I dropped mine a few weeks ago, and it dented the cap would not longer post. I managed to pry it back into shape though.

I have a converter in mine, bought it a few years ago and have used it daily since, lovely fine and consistent laydown of ink. I have reached for it over pens that cost much more and will probably continue to do so. Great review thankyou

I thought this pen had a converter. Saw it in peter draws and jg3 reviews.

I just double checked those reviews. JG3 uses the cartridge as well, and Peter Draws says in his review that he bought the converter separately.
