I am Japanese. CB250N is a very popular motorcycle in Japan. I think that it is a motorcycle in a wonderful condition that is quite valuable even in Japan. In this state, I think that it is traded at several times the price of a new car. Thank you for reviving me.
What a transformation! Excellent job. Used to own one of these back in the late seventies, great wee bike. As an ex mechanic myself I can appreciate just how much work went into this, bravo! 👏
I moved to London from NZ in the late 80s and got a job as a motorcycle courier, the company i worked for had a few of these Hondas as company bikes for the newbies. It was without a doubt the worst motorcycle i have ever ridden, incredibly gutless, brakes were worse than bad, and it used to flex and twist alarmingly with a load on it. But it never ever broke down, despite being thrashed 9 to 5, mon to fri.
I had an 82 cb250n in 1988. It was overweight, underpowered, underbraked and then the hardness flaked off the rocker arms, filling the camshaft bearings with steel shavings- ruining the cam and cylinder head. Palmed it off to my brother for bugger all. Worst bike ever. I have no idea why anybody would want to restore one of those pigs.
I can tell this is a master craftsman. At 24:45 he casually throws some nuts to the side as he works on the engine. If I do that, 3 of them fall on the floor and I spend 45 minutes looking for them.
Great work lads! However, there is one major error that you might have made at 27:39. When reassembling the crankcase, it seems that the needle bearing of the mainshaft is not located correctly. The hole in the top should fit in the oil locating pin or else the mainshaft might be starved of oil. The reason I point this out is because this happened to a cb450n that I bought and the gearbox was completely destroyed. I could be mistaken, but it might be something to check or look out for
Incredible patience, knowledge & mechanical skills. The work & time gone into this amazing restoration is to be admired & respected. Totally fantastic & a new subscriber here.
Very good job, a restoration with a total breakdown just like from the factory scratch! It takes a lot of patience, time and dedication, it is not a job that everyone can do! I knew I had a CB250N in the early 80's, it is a motorcycle with very special characteristics! Congratulations
this is truly a great video. because it serves as a means to do your own research about the things what to use and why to use. most of the videos in the internet is just showing the process and not telling what adhesives they are using for painting and rust removal. so a great attempt in making it universal for everyone.
In England it's official name was the HONDA CB250N SUPERDREAM , most referred to it as a wet dream ( insult ) , I had an old beater , 80mph on a good day , the CB400n with rejetted carbs and an ALFA 2 into 1 exhaust was much better at about 125mph . Cheers for the uploads bro . Great channel .
thumbs up finally a restoration video that dosent start with a Fake "we found this in a bush" video.. honest video start .. we have this bike to restore.... !!
my first motorbike was this one, I didnt have a kick start on it though as it was the "deluxe" model with electric only starting. Brings back memories from 20 years ago!, thanks for the video.
Excellent job. I wish i had a mechanic as confident as this guys the CB400T and the CB250n are complicated machines tp dismantle and re assemble too many chains inside plus a secondary counter balance.
Always good to watch, because of my love for Hondas I comment. That beautiful bike will last someone for years if they look after it, what a pleasure it was watching it come back to life. Thankyou :)

I passed my UK motorcycle test in 1980 on a 1979 Honda CB250N, it was a great little machine to learn on. As soon as I'd passed my test I bought a 1977 Triumph TR7RV "Tiger 750", my first big bike.
Wow!! Really good job!!💯 So many just clean the parts and use the old bearings and seals, but you replaced all the bearings, timing chains, seals and you properly torqued all the bolts!!!👍👍👍🦾

the 250n was heavy compared to it's power output(27HP). hence the UK nickname
