Mock the Week - Serious, Risky and Heroic

- This is the extended version of a round of "If This Is The Answer, What Is The Question?" from Mock the Week, probably Britain's most popular panel show right now. This was from episode five of series five.
Frankie Boyle, master of the blackest of black humour, suddenly decides to take a different spin during this round of gameplay.
Sadly missing from this clip is a great exchange that did make the final edit, with Hugh Dennis delivering a brutal quick-witted putdown to American Jimmy Tingle that went something like:
JIMMY: They put a flag there and claim they own it. Who do they think they are, the British?
HUGH: Of course, the Americans own the moon... - Комедії
Love how Frankie Boyle seems to really like David Mitchell
Who doesn't?
They are two of my three favourite comedians (next to Jimmy Carr). In the introduction from Prometheus Volume 2 Frankie praises David Mitchell as well: "Marina Hyde, David Mitchell, Barrett Brown - I have read some of my favourite funny writing over the past few years."
Ye I noticed this, never thought they would get each other but David is the complete opposite of Frankie so it works well.
Yeah he laughed at his jokes.
Almost as if those jokes were good jokes by a comedian or something.
You might be on to something.
There is a radio pilot (can't think of the name) written by Frankie with David & Chris Ramsay on YT. Worth a listen.
When Frankie Boyle takes the high ground, you know shit’s gone down
The thing about Frankie is that he's an extremely nice guy who outside of his comedy, is very moral. Meanwhile there are comedians whose material is much cleaner who are complete arseholes off stage.
@@donaloflynn Well said
It’s over Dara! I have the High Ground!
I mean that's one of the reasons he left
@@PureGoldNeverCorrodes you underestimate my power...
"Hello, Mr. Frankie Boyle, and welcome to Hotel Moral. Your express elevator to both the penthouse and sub-basements is right over here. We hope you enjoy your stay."
How's that for being fired in a tin can!
Frankie actually taking the moral high ground for once and then falling directly back down to the cold and dark. *smiles*
The vibrator joke deserved a lot more applause 😂😂
Like how their shock Frankie took the moral highland then he said challenge accepted
that american guy's contribution to the conversation at 4:38
American guests often have trouble cuz they don't wanna just jump in and seem rude
@@CorvusCorone68 Americans polite? Lol
No, he also tries an 2:17
@@CorvusCorone68 please tell me you're joking. Maybe in some states, but as a whole? No way.
@@Bragglord Not Americans in general; Americans who have come to Britain and aren't used to how Mock the Week works.
The moral high-ground is the best part of the video.
Frankie's description of commercial flights....
5:49 quite literally Mock the Weak
Very well reviewed in the Spectator, is one of the best lines on mock the weeK!
'She was a danger to shipping' 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The best bit is 0:25 when david mitchell says "very well reveiwed in the spectator
Is it, asking Pristorius if you can use his bathroom?
"Pistorius! What kind of name is that, Pistorius? It sounds like a Hogwarts spell that makes your legs fall off!"
-Frankie Boyle
Lamporre He blamed his arch nemesis in the trial, shitlabourius
Lamporre hahahahaha XD
"...something with rockets, I reckon." LOL
Frankie Boyle - taking the moral high ground in between trips through the racist door!
Hello children, shall we open the racist door?
I would love to see Frankie and David do something together, two opposite styles of comedy which would really work well plus they get on great.
Are they opposites? They both rely on wit and barbs, they’re both very well read and clever, and they’ve both made rather shocking comedy (David less so than Frankie, admittedly, but that doesn’t make him Frankie’s opposite necessarily).
@@JimmySteller Frankie is very controversial and uses taboo a lot more than David does.
While David might not be unfamiliar with dark humor, he is definitely perceived as the more serious and nerdy comedian, which would be quite a distant from Frankie's style.
Perceptions are not always accurate ya know
What the Russians did with that flag underwater reminds me of Eddie Izzard's "Do you have a flag?" sketch
Watching this again, I feel like Russell Howard's bit at 0:20 is rather underrated.
It was a great line. It gets overshadowed by Frankie though because well, it's Frankie and he's fucking brilliant.
HairyHariyama Don't you mean Under-stated ? LMPO !
At 3:27 did he mention toerag at Heathrow from Douglas Adams book?
Russell howards has some funny moments, especially on mtw . He is a rather funny dude. I wouldn't watch a whole show of his, but i would enjoy going out for a beer with her
@@jonblackk Tie Rack, it's a shop.
I love how Frankie reacts to the moral high ground.
"Serious Risky and Heroic". As a child --- Sneaking into Gary Glitters garden to get your ball back....
It doesn't get darker than Frankie Boyle!
That Spectator review's been saved on my reading list for ages now.
I've been looking for this for ages, Frankie and the moral high ground, hilarious!
the moral high ground makes fine kindling
The vibrator joke is the best thing ever xD
no way that woman was 20 stone, i got up to 18 stone and I admit I'm a big guy, but she was huge
03:30 the only time I’ve saw Frankie laughing at one of Russell’s jokes
He has laughed at plenty of Russell's jokes 😂
Is it me or is the American comedian surprised by what we can say?
Paladin Boyd
The few yanks they've had on have all been crap
Who is he?
No. Swear words & practically anything offensive are banned on US panel shows.
They get to australia and just look horrified. Lol
All the Americans have been shocked by frankie. I really want to see an Americans reaction to the "is it a bird, is it a plane, what ever it is" its heading straight to THOSE tow ers that used to exist in the US
At 2:40, did Frankie Boyle's "Can a red-hot human skull falling from space break through a farmhouse roof in Texas" refer to the Challenger disaster, or was it something else?
The shuttle blew up well inside the atmosphere, so I imagine the nice people at NASA would want him to get a detail like that correct.
He was referencing the 2003 Space Shuttle Columbia disintegration over Texas.
The other comedians never stood a chance, Frankie absolutely annihilated the audience.
I've seen this a few times, I thought I should say modifying a belt sander is heroic
Frankie on the Moral bungee jump. Hello down there!!. Hello up there!! just passing......~~~~~~~~~
I believe Frankie fell down from his high ground just after this.
snap, crackle and pop’s dj names
gets me every time 😂
frankie boyle, funniest man the world
I'm doing a writing course at university and today someone brought up a play set in Nigeria and all I could think of was Frankie's sex tour joke. I did a little hiccup/laugh behind my hand and my friend sat next to me asked if I'd just sneezed. When I said no, I'd just thought of a Frankie Boyle joke that went along with what our teacher had written, he looked amused. Our teacher looked less than impressed 😂
Is it, what is Frankie Boyle?
I mean The Mail used to really rather love Hitler so to them everything is worse than Hitler
okay, I'm sitting in Texas, and i can't stop laughing. it's offensive, because it's true.
A rarity..... Russell Howard being funny....
Is it how I'd describe flying the Gay Pride flag in Uganda?
The fat jokes aren't immoral. I'm a 300-lb 5'6 man, and I gave them a fat pass a long time ago. I had to get it out first, too; I mean, I knew where it had made its way to and all, but it took me a solid 40 minutes to pull it out of the crack of my flabby ass without pulling a muscle. Christ, I'm probably a cannibal's wet dream by now, a nice marbled flank steak. I could feed a family of eight indigenous Alaskans for a solid three weeks.
*Operation Space Grave!*
4:00 the irony of that all is....we went to spain once on a trip.....and our luggage was lost.
Don't worry it wasn't only just ours. It was the entire planes luggage....and the entire luggage of ovry flight that went that day. Yeah turns out there was a system faluire in the luggage bands.
I would tots but any vibrator that had those settings!
@erico72
Than is a conjunction used in comparisons:
Tom is smarter than Bill.
Then has numerous meanings:
1. At that point in time
2. Next, afterward
3. In addition, also, on top of that
4. In that case, therefore (often with "if")
That joke about space shuttle columbia though lol
Clever + humour, in a way that the US just can't do.
How will people describe my planned trans-themed tour of Florida?
ive noticed that knowone hardly speaks and frankie is just always telling jokes. im so pissed off hes gone he was by far the best one on this
5:50 was thinking that before hugh said it.
David Mitchell is brilliant!
Mitchell & Boyle has a certain ring to it 👍👍👍👍👍
I know the question! What is watching this video in class?
"Wow, it looks weird from up here."
turn on the captions it's hilarious
Do you have a flag? No flag, no country. Those are the rules, that I just made up.
and I'm going to back it with this gun lent from the national rifle association.
*Mock the Week* (S5, Ep5; August 9, 2007)
*_If This Is The Answer, What Is The Question?: Serious, Risky and Heroic_*
Presenter: Dara O'Briain
Team 1: Andy Parsons (captain), David Mitchell, Russell Howard.
Team 2: Frankie Boyle, Hugh Dennis (captain), Jimmy Tingle.
depends on the stone size.
I was expecting a "Fuck, Marry, Kill" joke.
@Deanbass77 the exact figure is 280lb or in metric, 127kg.
when i saw the title i honestly thought this was a montage of Frankie Boyle...
Me neither.
That's gotta be worth 5 points.
I thought that was Greenpeace's job not the coastguards
Is it me or does David Mitchell remind anyone of a English Jon Lovitz? ^_^
This isn't the extended version. It's missing Andy Parsons joke "what is sticking your knob through next doors letter box"
and Russell Howard's joke "What are the names of my cock and two balls?"
10 years later in 2020, you can't get a flight.
What's the joke about the British flag 2.5 miles under the ocean on top of Gloucester Cathedral?
@michaelandcallum Nonono, that's the 20-stoner from Essex :P
who's the third guy with Frankie and Hugh?
What does that hand sign Frankie makes at 1.24 mean?
@matrixphijr he isn't...
Hugh gets it 90% of the time
*than
@IceMetalPunk well she is from essex if u were english you'd get what that means
That picture of a lady is a danger to Tim Hortons
@LokkerG I have
one min in frankie won
"Do youmiss the moral high ground? That was a while ago, wasn't it?" *Looks around* "It's cold and dark down here." [3 minutes later] "Aren't we essentially mocking a partially disabled old lady? ... Ah, back in the fresh air!" xD xD xD
By the way, next time someone makes fun of fat Americans, I'll just show them the end of this video :P .
-IMP ;) :)
Than.... not then :P
@TheFactoryReject While I admire your efforts, I am tempted to dub them "serious, risky and heroic", given your target demographic.
1:52
2:57
5:50
frankie is sooooooooooo funny
Is it saying on an United airline flight, I'm not leaving I've paid for this seat?
seems like natural selection to me
It was all very funny, but who's that imposter sitting in Frankie's seat?
@TheFactoryReject Sorry, English is not my native language, I also should not have used a contraction
Jimmy Tingle.
yes, my bad. In my defense, English isn't my first language.
@BuzzBomber Or "around a dozen" to be less precise.
LMFAO
How about-Three words Chelsea fans would describe Ashley Cole
@erico72 Ever heard of Godwin's Law?
@Deanbass77 I work at a boat rental dock, and it's usually my job to put people into lifejackets. But we only get the weight ratings in pounds or kilos.
One day I had a troop of Irish tourists who could only give their weight in stone. Man, that took us so long to figure out.
@Deanbass77 14lbs to be precise
0:47
She was a danger to shipping XD
Is it: the feat it takes to dig up Anna-Nicole Smith's grave?
