- Sort of an experiment too see if I could resin cast more body parts for custom figures beyond heads. I still don't have Randor.
Awesome work 👏 👌
Thank you!
What an amazing thing!!! It turned out fantastic! I really want to do this right now... I barely bought the randor king on the bbts pre-order and I already want the queen! Yes the king is cool but the queen is a thousand times more! Her story is very good, the fact that she is a pilot and more! She being human! I love her story, I'll try to find a place that does it for me since I'm not from the US My english might not be one of the best since I'm using Google translator lol
Well thank you very much! Yes Randor was really hard too get, I made Marlena before I even got him myself.
That is an awesome Queen Marlena. Like the way you made her. Been intersested in working with moldings. Thanks for th inspiration.
Sure! Hope it goes well for you!
Love this custom great job keep up the great work!
Thank you I will try!
Your a Queen 4 that 2
Super 👍👍👍👌👌👌
Wow
You have talent. How did you do through first part with the molds ?
Thank you! Yeah sorry that's not clear, I had to throw out a lot of footage I tried to shoot for this. What do you mean about the molds exactly? How they are made or something else?
The molds in the beginning. If those are molds. I'm not technically savvy with this. I want to make customs and I'm asking myself, how did he make his own parts and how did he make the fabric dress ?
@@NathanielLitle Sorry its not covered better, I did film a bit of a mold making session before ua-cam.com/video/H5KDqJ3hrCo/v-deo.html , its also not great but its something. So you can see the process a bit, I use Smooth On Mold Star 15 Slow as my standard mold silicone, it opens with me degassing the mixed silicone in a vacuum chamber, that's not a completely necessary step but it helps. I pour it over a mold set up I made, I use a clay bedding to attach my parts and thin cardboard covered in packaging tape for the walls of the mold, and use cut down toothpicks for the air vents on spots that may catch air bubbles. It takes roughly 4 hours to set, after that I take the mold out of the box, clean it up, but leave the original parts in the mold if it needs a second half, I then wrap the sides of the mold in tape going up to form the walls to make the cap, I cover the now exposed section of the mold in a thin coating of petroleum jelly, this prevents the newly poured silicone from bonding with the original half of the mold. After that half is done I open it up, do any last clean up and pop the original pieces out of the mold. Then I spray the mold with mold release, then after that dries after a few minutes I powder the mold, I put some baby powder in it and shake it around then smack it upside down till it empties, this leaves a thin layer on the inside of the mold and helps prevent bubbles from forming on the surface, if you don't have a pressure pot which I don't this helps a lot. Then I pour the resin in it.
The dress well its pretty simple I just made a rough paper pattern and kept adjusting it till it mostly worked then made a fabric one.
Just saw your work featured in Mr Home Arcade's Royal Palace review and he pointed me to your channel, which ironically I'm already subscribed and yet I somehow missed that you were (at one point) selling Queen Marlena. Any plans to sell her again in the future?
I will be yeah! I only have a few at the moment but I'm in the middle of making more for Power Con, so I'll have them back up online either after that or ZoloCon. Need to remake a few molds still right now.
@@leecustoms2888 Awesome! I saved your ebay page so hopefully I'll be able to purchase one! I've said it before but Your work is inspiring!
@@MrHootiedean Thanks so much! I'll have a bunch of new stuff up soon!
Do you plan to make a kit for she-ra, more like the filmation version?
I've been thinking about it, it should be totally doable, my one concern is that's an obvious version of her for Mattel to make so I'm not sure if I want to commit to it. But its more than possible I will.
What is your ebay page? I am totally interested in getting one of these kits when they are available again.
Ah thank you, hopefully rather soon. www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?item=265853944606&rt=nc&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l2562&_ssn=jbuford63
Are you selling them?
I am, taking my stock to toy show this weekend then will have the rest online after I get back.
