In this video, I discovered to best lure to go trout fishing with! I was lucky enough to meet a friendly fisherman who shared his trout secrets with me! Super Duper seems to be most effective when trout are first released. After a couple weeks, dough baits seem to be more productive, after which, trout may be adapting to eating insects, crustaceans, worms, minnows, fry, etc.
Yeah, I’ve caught my limit in less than 10 minutes with super dupers

@@moseskongi4746 it seems weird but i find it effective by using a swivel and then it spins in the water idk why but fish seem to like it especially the copper gold or silver color way
@@roman.ob2294 What size or weight is good to use or doesn't really matter? They have too many different sizes.
1inch - 1/16oz.
1 1/8" - 1/12oz.
1 1/4"- 1/10oz
1 1/2"- 1/6oz.
The best most consistent I’ve come across for stocked hatchery fish in tx is the Berkley power eggs in pink and white on a live bait rig (slip sinker on main line to swivel, leader with a small salmon egg hook). Part of the struggle sometimes is just being where they’re hanging out. another tip to help handle them little buggers is a hand towel, grips them well.
Yeah I think the power bait is a really good option too. The super duper was catching them quicker, but I bet that I would have caught a limit on the power bait too. Hard to know much of it was the spot on the bank I had versus the lure/bait I was using.
State published the trout stocking schedule. Some of our county ponds getting stocked next week on the 22nd!

Super dupers are amazing lures, just hard to find them. The fish looked bigger than other years. It was also nice it wasn't super crowded. Glad you got yourself some trout. I know it was on your list.

The frisco release they put out a good amount but the best one in the state is the mckinney one that they have a derby at. I think it’s the town creek ponds if I remember right.

The only thing that is a little disappointing is how hard they fight, I’ve had bluegill that fight harder, but I still had a blast fishing for them! I only caught two, but I may need a circle hook because they alway throat it
Did you catch them right after they’re released? Ik the first couple days they’re pretty week but ive had some decent fights on stocked trout. Saw the guy catch a 20 inch on a fly rod in the trinity river and he was fighting it for a good few minutes.
@@iShowUnusualBehavior they’d have been in there for a month, the pond gets stocked once a year with trout

FYI - I’ve been told after getting 5 on the stringer then you can no longer catch and release ie if 5 in the bucket then the very next one you put your hand on is number 6 - over the limit.

I’ve never heard that before. I’m not necessarily against it though. It seems like most of the trout get wiped out in the first few days. They are very fragile fish, so stopping at your limit could help the good trout fishing last longer for the community
