Goofing around Ålesund!

- Ålesund was technically the final city-stop of our Norway Road Trip in 2019.
When people said Norway is always gloomy and wet, we didn't really feel it ourselves until we stopped over at Ålesund.
Weather conditions changed instantly and it is almost impossible to predict. Well, considering the fact that we were there in May, the weather was pretty much expected.
And as usual, we found it really hard to get dinner even at 6-ish in the evening. Being born and bred in a vibrant and bustling city like Singapore, it was a real challenge for us.
To make matters worse, the experience of staying with our hotel, Scandic Ålesund was appalling. Honestly. other than the gym, there isn't really much to feel elated over.

I often don't comment on UA-cam videos, but this one I had to. You guys look so used to blogs in this video, it was so natural, the quality and the editing so good and clean that I was surprised when I went tk the channel to see the second part and saw that the channel doesn't have thousands and thousands of subscribers. I loved the video, I will be moving to Alesund in a close future, and coming from a big city like São Paulo I can feel the same as you guys when everything is closed arround 6pm, so strange to have to adapt to a schedule for things like going out to eat, when you are used to literally go out and eat whatever you want at any time. Keep going the good jobs guys. Whise you the best
Hey Gabriel, thank you for your kind words. It was my first time trying to vlog and there couldn't a better place to start than Norway. It was a shame that we didn't have enough time to really explore Alesund due the weather, plus we were really drained from all the driving. Hope I can really do this more often when the pandemic is over. In the meantime, let's all stay safe and hope you will find a new wonderful life in Alesund!

Takk for denne videoen!
Thanks for your interesting video ☺️
Really enjoyed this video! 😊 Me and my family are going to Ålesund in july! 😃 Hope you had a nice trip 😇
Yes I had fun exploring the Ålesund! I grew up living in bustling & high tempo city nation, and it was just really chill and relaxing walking around the city of Ålesund 😊
@@edisonfoo3704 Good to hear 😊
Really like you guys. Nice vibe
Thanks for the kind words, Peter! We really miss traveling!
Nice video, not sure if you knew that or not - but one of the guys you met at the irish pubs is one of the most famous photographers and a big celebrity here in Norway - Per Heimly :)
Oh wow. Didn’t know! He certainly didn’t dress like a celebrity on that day
Visste det var han, men huska ikke navnet 😂
You know you can just drink the tap water?
No idea that we could 😅 thanks for pointing that out
Nice video went to Alesund last week nice city i made also viedo from Alesund :)
Yeah, it was a beautiful city. Nothing like Oslo. It's more quaint and nostalgic. It's a pity that the weather wasn't the best, otherwise, it would have been perfect.
Yeah👌👍I have been only on airport in Oslo 😁🙋♂️
@@PioturNo Anyway, just checked out your video on Romsdalseggen. It looks super awesome! It's one of the hikes that we planned but had to miss it during our trip due to bad weather.
Ok I will check 😊and this in my trip from romsdalseggen ua-cam.com/video/F9DwOkYxFaE/v-deo.html&feature=share
I’m here now and lmao the weather #singaporean
Feeling envious ☺️
The chocolate is probably Swedish :-)
Why is it Swedish? 🤔
Norwegians buy sparkling water because they drink normal water from their own tap :)
Ahh that explains. We were just not used to drinking sparkling water. In Singapore, though we can drink from our taps as well, sparkling water is not something locals will drink here 😊
Lol my dad's ex worked at Dirty Nelly xD
So did I miss out on anything by not visiting Dirty Nelly? 😅
@@edisonfoo3704 Not really xD They DO have this room further in the back that's kinda like a home library. Shelves of books and comfy chairs
Ahh sounds cozy! Would have been the perfect spot to chill
I live in ålesund
Such a lovely city to live in!
@@edisonfoo3704 yes
I spend there six months. The most boring time in my life! The weather is awful, the people are nice but cold.
Yeah, I guess it feels very different when you are on vacation as compared to working/living there.
@Anti Radicalism Dunno neither, I was born there but I live on different places all over the world and yes, Alesund is boring. Not much to see, not much to do. The nature is amazing as long it's not raining which is 90% of the time.
😂 Dont go to Norway if you constantly need to "DO SOMETHING".... We like nature and simple living. ;)
@@mihailchehlarov2720 It's still really beautiful. It sounds like you got the impression that the place would be some sort of amusement park
@@TheRamsay I didn't have any expectations. The city was nice, clean and well organized. I didn't miss anything. People were friendly and I make some new friends...and at the end I was happy leaving it. This is just my experience.
I don't understand why you complained about view in yoour room. Because if someone come like tourist he/she will not live in room. Tourists will spend time outside, so view is important exactly zero. Room is only fir sleeping over night. 😜😜😜
Yes you’re right ;) to be honest, it didn’t really bother us much at the end of the day.
