Well, yeah. The high school crowd is 16 to 18 year olds, mostly. The NBA playoff crowd is mostly 70 year old C-suite execs. Tickets purchased using corporate Amex cards.
In the state of Kansas you'll be escorted off the court quickly by police. They don't mess around in Kansas. Fans cannot intervene with players until after the game. When I was a kid growing up 3 people tried it in a game. Police are right there. Your put in Handcuffs and they take you to jail. Security people will tell you before the game if you get on the court during the game you will be escorted out of the building in handcuffs. They do not mess around in Kansas guys. There has been a few altercations during games and the game was halted for a couple minutes and the people were escorted off the court and into handcuffs. They do not mess around in Kansas. You will be put in jail no matter what age you are.
@@briandm33 chill the fuck out, you literally said "They don't mess around in Kansas" 3 fucking times. We get it, you'd be jailed if you go onto the court. Same policy in most arenas in the US, Kansas isn't special.
The Kid who missed the free throws name is Alex Wood he walked on at Cal if Im not mistaken, and also I was personally a part of this game. It was one of the only games we packed the gym it was our “silent night” game and we were down in the 7-10 point range all game. No greater feeling.
I'm still amazed by one stat in my life that I still haven't seen since the day my HS home team did the unthinkable in one game. When was the last time you ever seen 2 long shots from over 70 feet swish in a game??? Practically never. Right. Well my HS team did it in 1987. In my life I had only seen it once in person besides this one game. Against the best team in their classification my HS basketball team swished two shots from over 75 feet away in a game. That is unheard of in the game of basketball. Sure we see Steph Curry do it every once in awhile but to do it in a game on the HS level 2 times is JUST UNHEARD OF. IT JUST NEVER HAPPENS. The State of Kansas said that in all the games throughout the years about 3 dozen shots someone makes about a 68 to 72 feet shot. Half Court doesn't count. My HS in that one game did it. It was unreal. To this day it holds the record in the state of Kansas. No other team in HS has ever done it. It's never happend. Both shots were right around 68 to 72 feet away soo roughly the free throw line on the other side of the court. YEAH. Those shots going down rarely do happen in a game but they do. You can look up other states and they'll probably say the same thing. Just maybe once in a game but never 2 times before. It just doesn't ever happen.
The same tips a coach would give you at the free throw line, or at the elbow, or at the wing 3 pointer, PRACTICE! You wont just show up to the gym one day and throw up a half court, unless you are Stephen Curry of course, but even he had to practice where he got to. So, start on top of the key facing straight to the front of the rim and shoot a few threes until you get used to it. Take a few steps back every time and continue until you get to the half court. At first you may need a run up, but thats totally fine, just make sure you have control of the ball and won’t lose it.

The high school buzzer beaters are way better than the nba ones because everyone from the crowd comes on to the court
I mean, thousands of people attend NBA games. everyone rushing into the court would be hella dangerous.
Well, yeah. The high school crowd is 16 to 18 year olds, mostly. The NBA playoff crowd is mostly 70 year old C-suite execs. Tickets purchased using corporate Amex cards.

Think how that kid who could have sealed the deal felt by sinking that second free-throw but didn’t.
He wouldn't have sealed the deal, it would be a 3 point lead if he had made the second.
yeah it was 78-88 at the end
And to have the kid hit the winning shot in your face. He could at least tried to Jump. That's the beauty of Sports though.
It’s hs basketball.....both teams probably missed a ton of fts
