- Ahead of King’s Charles' coronation in May, the monarch will aim to maintain and strengthen relationships with EU countries and the commonwealth. Although, it is controversial that the royals have prioritised visiting EU allies as their first overseas trip as monarchs.
King Charles has a challenge on his hands to sustain strong relationships with commonwealth countries and realms. The late Queen was known as Queen of the commonwealth and admired and respected for this very reason. As the most well-travelled monarch in history, Queen Elizabeth II has left her son with the issue of winning the hearts of the commonwealth.
In March’s Royal Insight episode, Camilla Tominey, Associate Editor at the Telegraph analyses the challenge ahead of the new monarch as head of the commonwealth and the political statement behind prioritising EU countries as his first visit abroad as monarch.

Just how did he prioritise France and Germany when he's just hosted the most incredible Commonwealth Day celebrations? Clickbait title aimed to cause division and negativity.
Why go to Europe first? They are our neighbours and will be the first to take up arms in our hour of need to defend us. We literally need to be besties with our neighbours.
Errr… check the contributions from Commonwealth countries (especially Australia and Canada) in both world wars and ongoing alliances like CANZUK before coming out with inaccuracies like that.
Not really the US and Commonwealth(though in its present form its had its day) are our real allies with some exceptions in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia we've been at odds with most of our neighbours for century's or at best uneasy mates.

Barbados has been independent since 1966. The Queen was ‘Queen of Barbados’ in her own right. However, Camilla is correct - the decision to transition to a republic was done without a public vote. The Prime Minister now appoints the head of state. A banana republic in the making.
Completely agreed! What is possibly worse for Barbados is that they proved that their Constitution has no backbone. Any government can unilaterally make changes on a whim with out public consultation. I wonder if their new masters in Beijing are eyeing up Rule of Law for the next constitutional change in this banana republic.

Of course, he can! He is becoming a fine example of forgiveness and unity. As for it being "his family's responsibility for slavery"...well, that's typical, heard, and wrongly repeated, untruth. Once again, some would choose to prefer gossip and speaking negatively. They do not know that when they speak this way, it hurts them also. God save the King.

Its not about prioritization. Its about timing. There will be a massive Commonwealth tour after the coronation, just like in 1953.
Hope not that would be a waste of time if anything the realms in particular should hold referendums on the Monarchy before any of our Royals go anywhere don't want a repeat of the disgraceful Jamiaca episode from last year where that twerp of a Pm used it as a PR stunt.
Also, there would be an invasion of France.
Of course it is not about prioritization. Also one cannot be in two or more countries at the same time. Further HIs Majesty isn't 21 years of age and be expected to be flying by plane everywhere like the younger generation are able to. His Majesty made the right choice.

It is. State visits are made on the advice of the government, not from his own choice.

Hmmmm......It's interesting that there are many elements of the Commonwealth that are loudly talking of leaving the organization, but then that same organization takes umbrage at the fact that the King visits his European allies first. I would think he'd be apprehensive to visit the Commonwealth. He'd be concerned about how he would be received, wouldn't he! Look at what happened to his son Prince William during the Caribbean portion of the Jubilee tour. Besides, the government of the UK decides where the king goes on official business, not him. He's representing the country, not himself, so he needs to go where the government decides that he's needed.
Spot on alround it's not a holiday he's the plaything of the Government of the day and what they think is required.

Harry and Meghan failed in their roles at the Queen's Commonwealth Trust. They were late for meetings, didn't attend meetings as scheduled and offended country's representatives at various times. These facts are very well documented.

I would like to understand how Charles could become King. He cheated on his wife divorced her. Married a divorced woman and now everyone acts like this is ok. Is this real?
Yes it’s not the 18th century anymore. Kings have always cheated on their wives. Now it’s made public. People get divorced and remarry. King Henry 8th had 6 wives. It’s normal.
He became King by hereditary right in accordance with the Act of Succession. It would have required an Act of Parliament to prevent it, and British politicians won't go there unless there is a very compelling reason. Cheating on his wife and marrying a divorced woman didn't cut it.

There are several videos posted of the Commonwealth Day celebrations in London last month. It was an inspirational day of unity and hope. The first State Banquet of Charles' reign was in honour of President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa. Charles is barely out of mourning for both his father and his mother, the family at large have had much to bear. it should be no surprise that his first State visit should be near to home.

King charles is not wise enough because if he is, then all these royal family problem would not have happened. If only he managed to abide by his fathers wishes whuch was to marry lady diana and make her his queen he does not have any issue with harry and the entire commonwealth estates right now. Lady diana is the true queen and is deserving if the throne. She is a wise, honest, pure of heart woman that is beloved not only by the commonwealth but also the entire world. Camilla is not wise but clever. However, cleverness and the help of the media and politicians cannot solve problems but modify and escalate the tension instead. She is not rightful for the title coz she started the conflict to the point that the commonwealth has a negative outlook of king charles. Always remember that the decisions if the man can be manupulated by a clever woman to her benefit. If i am king charles before united kingdom will be destroyed he will give the title to william and kate before UK will be destroyed by camillas presence. Lets face the fact that all of camillas media and paparazi cannot help her become a rightful queen. The only way she will be trusted by the cimminwealth is if she is personally able to convince the commonwealth to support charles by personally visiting these countries and personally connect with harry and megan aa well to make peace. If she cannot do that theres no way charles will be respected by the commonwealth. Its camilla who started the problem so it will only be camilla who can personally solve the problem and redeemed charles rating. Camillas media and paparazi cant help her and charles to redeem themselves. These media mileage will only drowned them more to the point of no salvation. The royal problems are easy to fix if the people concerned are not immorals. But because they are all immorals and guilty that is why they used the media to counter the issue with another issue to destroy the enemy. That is not a wise.move and a king and a queen is forbidden using that dirty and filthy tactics. It only goes to show that the king and queen is not rightful of the throne.
