    Stressed out. Balding abdomen hairs, you should shouldn't shove your Pulchra into a corner and force it to get out by going on top of your hand... you can se it frantically trying to figure out if you're a threat when you picked it up... at one point, I almost fell off your hand and bed.

      Trash Cans will Rule The World Tarantulas like this will develop bald spots and thinning hairs when they're ready to molt. That is not a sign the spider is stressed.

    • @wickedtarantulas3266

      Balding rump is usually the first sign of premolt and/or stress. But in this case, looks like premolt. I have a t who is stressed over a female and is fully matured and has slight balding, more like thinning rather than balding.

      If you read the description he states that its an old T. Probably balding from old age. She did not appear to be stressed at all.

    it's awesome, you feel the gentle velvet touch of the tarantula, the big ones weigh over 50 grams so you feel its weight in your hand and you realize that you're holding a big spider which isn't going to bite you at all (most cases) and it's cool, might be tickling, always exciting

    I have a psycho 3" G. Pulchra. Hoping she calms down when she gets to that size

  • @tomservo3401
    @tomservo3401 8 років тому

    Ok i need some help. My male g. pulchra is around 2 years old, maybe 5 inch legspan spread out. He just molted a month ago and see he has his tibial hooks and emboli? From what i can find on the internet male tarantulas dont get those until their final molt but male g. pulchra are supposed to live 5-7 years? This guys only 2 and seems too small to mate?

    • @Chained2Alice
      @Chained2Alice 8 років тому +2

      +Rawhead Rex He is mature and this was most probably his last molt.
      Do not worry, he might live up to 2-4 years after that.
      It appears that you have fed him well, 2-years to maturity for a pulchra is quite fast. =)

    • @tomservo3401
      @tomservo3401 8 років тому

      Damn.. I thought he would get bigger. I wonder if thats why he hasnt wanted to eat much since his last molt? I got 2 from the same batch, they were both the size of small crickets. They have the exact enclosures, fed them the same amount at the same time. They used to molt within days of each other. Then maybe around a year ago this guy started molting more. Now hes ahead of my other one by atleast 2 molts. Im guessing its a she? I thought i read males grow and mature faster than females. Hoping its a female but she mangled her last molt. Anyway thanks for getting back to me. Dam only 2-4 years left. Didnt want to see him die so soon. He seems small to be mature? Ive had rosy hairs that were alot bigger than him.

    • @Chained2Alice
      @Chained2Alice 8 років тому +1

      +Rawhead Rex Hopefully the other one will turn up to be a female and live long and happy life =)
      It is true that males grow faster & die younger, my pulchra is quite large, but I have also seen quite small mature ones, so it's also about luck.

    • @MADxHAWK

      This Tarantula is in a poor condition and extreamly stressed out.
      Her abdomen is nearly bald what menas she kicks a lot of hair what they only do when they are stressed out or feel threaten.
      He handles her high above the ground what is extremly dangerous for the Tarantula. A fall from just a few inch could hurt them and kill them. They are very fragile, especially their abdomen.
      i feel sad for this tarantula.
      And yes most spiders are poisonous but tarantulas poision is considdered as medical not significant. It can hurt and make you feel bad but wont kill you. The mechanical damage they can deal with their large fangs is way more hurtfull.

    • @Chained2Alice
      @Chained2Alice 9 років тому

      Delightra Cardeanne I'm feeding her mainly with blaptica dubia roaches, but she eats rarely, especially during the winter. She doesn't particularly like the temperatures dropping under 25 C, and she is hiding in the den right now. I have given her other prey - including a mouse (you can see the video if you're intrigued, but it's quite... 'visual'). I'm proud of my pulchra, as she is a very decent size and is a calm and docile tarantula. =)

    • @Stoopudjurcee1
      @Stoopudjurcee1 9 років тому

      A mouse?? Woof, brutal. And I can imagine winter is a hard time for her. My fish seldom eat during the winter either. I think that's normal, though. Again, gorgeous T. And roaches are one of the best things to feed them, and sustainable as well :-)

    I can tell you’re not very experienced in this hobby, one that tarantula obviously is stressed out and does not want to be handled, that enclosure is way to tall, this is a terrestrial species, they stay on the ground or low to the ground, it climbs to the top and falls you’re gonna have a dead tarantula. Another thing, not really a big deal you’re handling your tarantula. You’re trying to wow people who are ignorant to the hobby, all you’re doing is stressing your animal, this video is just disgusting, you even almost let it fall off the bed, you throw off an irresponsible vibe, feel sorry for your animals.
