Maryland Marlins Tsunami Worlds 2011 Day 2

- Tsunami had a major injury that stopped the performance again. They had to choreograph out that cheerleader and perform again. They overcame that to take fourth in the world! It was an unbelievable two-day performance! They may not have won gold, but they won the hearts of the crowd. The noise level for their fourth performance of workds was loader than any of the other large senior all girl team performances.

i can watch this video a thousand times they did great to say they had the hardest weekend out of all teams.. who else can say they hit the competition mat 4 times giving there all ever time

wow! amazing routine,so fun. and the poor girl that got hurt, i tore both my acls, luckily in practice, but i couldnt even think about getting up nonethelsss trying to walk on it. thats awsome and so sad. if it is acl i hope she has/ does recover fast.
I think Maryland marlins and cea had the best pyramid:) I loved the energy of this performance:D it was a fantastic routine:D

these girls have seriously gone thru hell n bac with worlds this season.. lights turned off n an injury occured.. i am SO freekin proud of these girls for coming bac out AND placing top 4 =) great job ladies ur fierce as can be =)
I definitely felt like they should of placed 3rd. I get so emotional when I watch this, that had to take so much. and they hit each time! props.
this is truly inspirational. first off, her team did the right thing leaving her alone when she got hurt. as bad as that may sound it's true. second, did she tear her ACL? third, i absoolutely loveeee how her stunt group is holding hands. this team gives FAMIILY a meaning. i hope if anyone on my team ever gets injured, they will act the same way. even though they got 4th, the are number one in my heart

all i have to say is by watching day 1 and than day 2 these ladies went thru hell at worlds ... they pulled thru all that was thrown there way to finish in 4th after all that was a very good job .. between them vipers nd the twisters im very proud to say im from maryland
They were so great. I'm so touched by how the Marlins still pulled through and did their best. I love this. I just love this.

Growing up in Maryland we dont have many world caliber teams. That being said F5 and Tsunami were the first true level five teams I ever saw. F5 was already well known although, I didnt know until later how famous the where in the sport. But back then Tsu was a little unknown, but they were great. I'm happy that their finally "World Famous". They should be proud cause even without Brea they werked it out! Deff one of the top 3 dances in their divison..
this is such an inspiration, and you can tell these girls really love what they do. i just loved seeing the girls marking their stunt group when they saw all stunts go and jumped up and down and you could tell how happy they were
Great job Ladies! I am SO proud to be a Maryland Marlin! Brea, I hope you get well soon! I can't wait for next year!!
@btrappe aww well that is good to know.. just know I was going off what I saw in the video ! Ive been watching all of the tsunami videos since like saturday. Probably one of my new favorite teams !

9 years later and I still get so emotional watching these girls. Truly the heart of the 2011 season (Monique Heart, the face). But really, such amazing girls. Didn't someone calculate that they hit like 84 tick tocks that weekend? Truly amazing.
Poor Brea she got back up after her fall and she fell back down again. Their stunts sequence was way better then CEA and maybe even F5. Wow they did great. Their pyramid was also awesome. Some much going on in that pyramid. Can't believe that they had to do their routine 4 times. Great job ladies. Hope to see you place top 3 next year
They preformed 4 times, being perfect every time. They struggled through what most cheer teams couldn't handel. In my opinion, they should've won. Tsunami is the strongest team that competed that day. Day 1- Lights go out, lets do it again! Day 2- Brea gets hurt, lets do it again! I'd like to see 'Extreme' do that.
Why'd you only call out cea by name? WC and F5 also placed higher
you can tell how much they all care about their teamates when they stopped they were all looking her and wanted to run to her ! - its definately a scary moment when that happens ! Love this team !
what a team. you can see how amazing they are just by the fact that they performed four times and still hit everything. props to them for great team effort, which is what cheerleading is really about.
it still touches me every time seeing how much of a team these girls are lol...rooting for them this year!!

@mcsophie12 Thats because you have to keep going even if someone on your team is injured and they didn't run over to her because she needed space and they were trying not to get in the way. Trust me they really do care about that girl.
@blondecheer372 i had been having knee problems for a few months and later found out that i had a partial tear in my meniscus. i would usually wear it for competitions just for comfort but i decided not to day 2. doctors say it wouldnt have prevented me tearing my ACL tho. thats to clear up your confusion :)
these ladies really stepped up as a team and they should be SOOOO proud of themselves no matter what place they got. they performed their routine 4 times at worlds, and that alone would have broke other teams. they did so amazing and i loved this routine!!

I liked CEA's pyramid alittle better but they still did great, great jobs ladies. What place did CEA get?

"tsunami we made, tsunami we made it with our backs up against the wall" so perfect for their world experience! these girls pulled through and made it past sooo many obsticles and gave an AMAZING yet again. i love this team so much, you can tell how much of a family they are. i look up to these ladies
not really sure never found out it closed at the begining of august
Ten years later, their final performance is still one of my favorite worlds moments ever.
why’d they get shut down?
At the very end of this routine, it didn't matter what they placed. After 4 outstanding unintentional performances, they won our hearts that weekend. A weekend we will never forget. And even though the Maryland Marlins don't exist anymore, they remain standing with pride.
it reallly touched me when they did their performance the second time when they were doing the stunt at 2:54, and the stunt that didn't go up were holding hands praying that the other stunts hit & how excited they& the coaches got. i love them
@mcsophie12 We are taught to keep going no matter what. You dont stop until the music stops, theres nothing a teammate can do when someone gets hurt. They dont have magical powers to heal them nor are they medically trained to assess an injury.

Thank you all for your support this weekend.. It meant so much to us. It is a weekend that none of us will ever forget. As for the not caring girl? That's one of Brea's closest friends! We were all in shock. Every single one of us cried for Brea and ached to go on the floor without one of our sisters. This was by far the hardest thing I think any of us have ever gone through but as athletes we are trained to "Keep going until the music stops" Trust me.. Kylie cared!

@lizzziiiiiiiiiiix3 Last tumbling pass is my baby sister, Corrie Roth!!! She totally rocked it with the Brea credit! And the TSU team has soooo much heart for each other, you should see them in the gym. Can't wait for my baby ladies to follow in my sister's footsteps!

@T0RN4D0ali Yes that is how it worked! We had to perform the whole routine due to the fact that it could be argued that we weren't as tired as the other teams during the second half. Only after the point of interruption were we scored.

i wanted to start crying when the bases and backspot of the girl who hurt herself were holding hands and watching and cheering for their teammates to hit the stunt. actually tears are comin now!
why didnt she wear a knee brace day two ecause she blew out her right knee and she had the knee brace on the right knee on day on? but this team is amazing
i love that their pyramid song is dont stop believing, because they really didnt stop believing
i just noticed the girl that got hurt was wearing a knee brace on day 1 but not day 2, and she tore her acl on day 2. :-/

Am i the only one that noticed that Brea had on a knee brace day 1 performance but not on day 2? Not sure if it was the same knee or not i think she had it on her right knee but hurt her left? but like i said im not positive
I was to be there wish I stuck it out. I was the only left on. But when I was there seemed like the first practice they sat around the rest half the practice
I don't know what the girl's injury was, but it definetley wasn't an acl. I think it looks like she may have broke her ankle, or twisted it. she wasn't putting pressure on it.
Just love this team for getting it done and coming together as ONE!! Heart goes out to the team...

@blondecheer327 probably because she's had probs with her knee so she wears the brace. Alot of cheerleaders do. But then when she didnt wear the brace she most likely got hurt because of that.
After she fell and got seriously injured she tried to get up and carry on, i love that she pushed herself

That's because she was a fill in for the injured girl. She wasn't in any of the sequences except the pyramid.

this team was definitely my favorite team of the year. i felt for them so much, i started crying when that girl got hurt! they did awesome, 4 perfect routines! way to go tsunami, get it next year
