Welcome to The Thaumaturge!
The Thaumaturge is an isometric, story-rich RPG with a unique take on turn-based combat, character development features, and investigation mechanics, facing you with morally ambiguous choices - set in a world teeming with mysterious powers and strange ethereal beings called salutors.
The year is 1905. Warsaw lives under the yoke of imperial Russian tsardom. Its inhabitants constitute a diverse group of different ancestries, views, and beliefs with often conflicting interests: Russian soldiers, Jewish merchants, Polish townspeople, and more. Despite the circumstances, the city is a buzzing metropolis, where one can attend a breathtaking party with the high society, and later get robbed in one of the dark alleys of the Praga district. A city of great hopes and dreams on one hand and dark desires on the other.

I've had this game on my radar for awhile now, glad to see it released. Turn based combat and detective games are both quite fun in my book so this game has plenty of appeal to me, its timing is just less than ideal as I'm already busy with other games. Definitely interested in what you think once you've put more time into it.
The video will take some time for me to make as I have not had a chance to jump back in but I am planning on making it within a month or so.
It looks interesting! My ears definitely perked up when you compared it to Persona, so I'm looking forward to trying it out myself! It sounds like you need to put quite a bit of time into it before you get a good feel for it. The combat also looks quite slow? I feel like a speed-up button would be a good addition.
I have a few more hours in now, and the combat does feel a bit slow with the longer animations, but it makes up for it with some fascinating complexity.
@@tstable25 I did notice an option in the menu to speed up the combat animations, so that's a very good addition!
I have not explored the options thoroughly, so that is a welcome discovery

I'm gonna be honest, I don't usually look through the options outside of graphics and subtitles
