Gosh Reba was young here, back when my husband and I listened to every thing she recorded-----then a year and a half ago, I lost my darling, of 57 years. This song speaks to me!
I lost my husband too. Not because death took him, but because he decided to leave me for an old “friend” he said he’d loved “forever”. After 39 years together he walked away to be with her. It would have been easier if he had died.
Maybe, in such a closed society, a straight man (Joseph here, using my sister’s acct.!) isn’t s’posed to like a sweet, gentle, song like this, but damn!, Reba really delivers w/out stretching or bending notes all around. I’ll say it, her vocals jus’ ‘bout make ME cry! Time does fly, but this song ages really well. GREAT work here, Ms. McEntire. Kudos! 👍
I played this song over and over and over, wore out the cassette tape (yep that old), trying to make a decision that was inevitable and heartbreaking. Love Reba. She’s sung our lives
This song and For My Broken Heart both came out when I was blindsided by a divorce...looking at it now..it was a blessing that should have happened years before it did.
I smell Windex every time i hear this song. I always helped my mom clean the house when I was a kid and she always played this record over and over as she folded clothees and did dished as I want around with the Windex and clleaned the tv and Windows
Its amazing how certain songs can instantly take you back to a particular place/time. When I listen to this, Im back at my former job 20 yrs ago, tuning/testing radios after hours, w/ her Greatest Hits 1 CD playing on my laptop. When I hear Lynn Anderson's Rose Garden, its 50 yrs ago, and Im riding w/ my Mom on my way to visit my Grandma who was in a nursing home,. Cheers :)
Reba was "IT" all of my childhood years. I didn't think much about her until i was about 10 years old. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was at a cookout with the parents and this song came on. It was the first time i had ever gotten cold chills from music. I guess that's odd for that age but i was blown away. The light bulb went off and it hit me...."my God she is great".almost 30 years later and i still get chills when i hear some of her songs. I don't know if there has ever been another female country singer with as much raw talent. Patsy Cline was great, Tammy W, and a lot more. I don't think any of them were perfect like Reba.
My heart goes out to you. Yes, there is an empty place in your heart that can never be filled; but I believe she would want you to be happy and have your needs met with someone who really cares about you, if that one comes along. You can keep memories of the past, but at the same time; move forward and let your heart heal. God Bless.
I remember as a young teen, watching TNN and CMT and watching this video when it first came out. Another one of my favs. I've been divorced for 5 yrs. I've found guys that wanna only sleep with me with no real commitment, and I've set my standards higher than that. Thought I finally found a good guy - but he is too wrapped up in his work. Don't get me wrong, a good job is important, but I've never had money and it doesn't mean a thing when his heart isn't in the relationship.
Went through a heart- wrenching Divorce. Drugs, Alcohol and Infidelity was never our issue as a couple, but yet is was something deeper, stronger, and too powerful.,, It was just a deep sadness of a loss greater then our love could battle. This song allows me to mourn the Man I once Loved. and remember that it wasnt always hurtful and sad....
Dawn Galletta ,. yes that is so very True !!! but you have to try with each other !! I. do with my husband &. I All thee Time !! good Luck to us All !! thanks again Reba for this touching Song !! Lisa...🎶🎼🎧🎼🎼🎼🎶🎶;-);-)
Oh WOW!!!! This song brings me back to when i was a kid.. My Mom, Grandmother, would listen to Reba when i was growing up in the 80's. This is one of Reba's songs that came out in the 80's. I love this song. It really does bring back alot of memories when time was so much simple. I didn't have a care in the world back then but worrying about doing my homework or studying to pass a test. Lol.. Oh well, we all gotta grow up eventually.. Peace and prosperity to all of you out there...
Reba's videos are the gift that keeps on giving, but her music is still very relatable today. I miss old country like this, Chris Stapleton is the only one bringing it back to its roots.
Anyone else came to watch this because she mentioned it on her Instagram? Hadn't thought about it in forever--forgot it was David Keith in the video, even. Love how literal it all is. Music videos were still a relatively new thing and as far as country music goes, she became the queen of them in the late 80s and 90s!
I agree. I met my true love at 19. Had two years with him. We went our separate ways but as he was a friend of my brothers' we never really lost touch. Fast forward 40 years. He was living in Scotland but came down to England for the shooting. We met up and fell back into our relationship as though it were yesterday. We spent a beautiful year together when he crossed the border. Like we had never been apart. But when the sh1t hit the fan he was nowhere to be seen. I was devastated but eventually came to realise that he did not deserve me. I am happy now that I have opened myself up to real, true love xx
Thanks for being a great fan of our home country music, seeing Y'all all love keep me going. I PROMISE TO put so much effort to make you proud. How long have you been supporting me.
Woody Woodward --- This song is more than sad, it's tragic! To love someone from the bottom of your heart, and yet uncertain as to how far you want to go! Uncertainty killed what could have been a triumph! This happened to me -- I didn't want a one night stand -- I wanted the "real thing" forever! But neither of us had the courage to commit, so that ugly word "through" won out in in the end! The result? We both are now alone and wish we could go back and do what we should have done then!! But it's too late!!
I love the back story behind this video; Most of it was filmed at a house on Long Island. It rained much of the time which put everything way behind schedule. The final scene w/ her sitting by the slide projector was shot late at night when everyone was worn out.
these early love songs by Reba have my heart just overflowing with love, pain memories. her voice and delivery just seem to make every song seem so personal...miss the early Reba
I love these old songs of Reba's they mean so much !!!! They make u feel ,they hit home. Not like the songs u hear now on the radio. I love ya Reba u made women's country music and u took to all our hearts ..n that's exactly where music needs to go when you hear it
You know what I love about this video? Reba has lines between her eyebrows, hollows under her eyes, and dresses like a soccer mom....but nobody cared! Her voice and emotion made her a superstar...which is why she will always be one! She was the 80s Adele. Love her!
Reba, I know you can't, or will ever admit it, I miss you every day since the day we parted, you were my greatest love, still are, I still feel it.....after all of these years..
I can remember selling tickets for the Fraternal Order of Police back in the late 70s early 80s for Tom Bresch and yourself you put on a fantastic concert thank you for all of your songs but this one is my most memorable one ( Somebody Should Leave)as I was going through it at that time❤❤❤
Wow didn’t realize this song is 34 yrs old!!! Reba was my first female country singer I started listening to. Been listening to her ever since. Been to 9 of her concerts.
There will NEVER be another Reba in my book! Her audience can relate to her bc she writes about real life, love, trails, and tribulations! She’s always be my FAVORITE country artist by far!?
Still Look back Reba Collection cassette tape or records or cds or video music on dvd lots great Classic hits songs and albums though years. Those were Golden Days songs on radio stations memories Lane. Thank You Reba

It's hard to believe this song is 35 years old this year. It will always be a classic. I will always love Reba McEntire's music.
Wow I now feel so old! Lol
The Greatest female country singer of all time.

Exactly
Gosh Reba was young here, back when my husband and I listened to every thing she recorded-----then a year and a half ago, I lost my darling, of 57 years. This song speaks to me!
Sorry for your loss. Hugs & prayers your way.
I'm sorry hope you are okay
My wife and 2 kids were killed in a car crash drunk driver hit them
Dene Belden I lost my husband also I so understand
I lost my husband too. Not because death took him, but because he decided to leave me for an old “friend” he said he’d loved “forever”. After 39 years together he walked away to be with her. It would have been easier if he had died.

Hello Jeanine.. how are you doing?

This one hits home for me. Such a great song filled with emotion. Love you Reba.
This song and For My Broken Heart both came out when I was blindsided by a divorce...looking at it now..it was a blessing that should have happened years before it did.
Hello Lynne how are you doing!!
Divorce is always painful ! I feel your pain...
I think Reba recorded "For My Broken Heart" to honor members of her backup band who had died in a plane crash.
I smell Windex every time i hear this song. I always helped my mom clean the house when I was a kid and she always played this record over and over as she folded clothees and did dished as I want around with the Windex and clleaned the tv and Windows
I love all rebas songs Paula walsh

I think we lived the same life… Reba blasting in the morning meant the whole house was up and deep cleaning the house!
Love Reba is a great singer she sings from the heart
I did the same with my mom. She always listened to Billy Ocean. I remember her dancing and cleaning … especially to Caribbean Queen ❤

Hello Becky
Hello Becky how are you doing!!
Comparing this type of music to today's radio just confirms Idiocracy is right on schedule.
97.7 Hank fm plays the older country songs and I love it. I wish country music was still like this.

Me too! Was born in 81.
I just love you Reba! Your songs go straight to the heart.
Crazy about Reba! Had the pleasure of being told many times that when I sing with her,It's like turning up more speakers! Great great compliment!!!!
She puts an amazing amount of emotion into her songs and videos. Not many people do that anymore. She's amazing.
So sad, but so true. Some of today's country artists, it's hard to relate to their songs. Most of them are pretty good though.

My 3 year old would say “ play kid down street”’ he grew up on Reba and Vince Gill music.
He must a heart attack whenever "The Heart Won't Lie" comes over the radio.

This song stirs up memories of a very special young love . It was relatively brief but oh Lord it was hot ,wonderful & totally PRECIOUS!
