Millions of Fish in the St. Clair River

Each year the St. Clair River hosts one of the largest Gizzard Shad runs in the Great Lakes. There are literally millions of fish! Add in great visibility and it makes for a once in a lifetime dive :~)

Pretty common annual event now thru most of the St Clair river..the running shad! They fill the waterways from late fall to early spring. Although to big for most predatory fish like salmon, trout and walleye(pickerel)..they bring a healthy population of Eagles to the river.

True.....although the SCR does have the largest walleye fishery in the Great Lakes Basin! We'll upload some footage to tease ya with :~)

Ohhhhhh you caught us!......we filmed one fish and dubbed it in 100,000 times.....no really we built 200,000 robot fish and had them swim around us so we could upload a fake video to UA-cam!
