In St Pete FL there was a high end stereo store opened in the 70s by some hippy dudes that were funded by a shady drug dealer/business man. They named store Sound Advise and one of their first slogans was "At Sound Advise we don't rub cheese on your neck"
TBH, I did a mix not long ago and I couldn't find a nice ''dark'' sounding reverb. Everything I own just stuck out too much and gave me problems and caused more work. I'll give this a shot :)
shit ...now id use this absolutely :) mostly on isolated/separate stems...I noticed whichever direction you go the signal would not get so whacked out as to sound horrible to the ear.... it was like once you adapt to its change and ya get used to it , then its like wow this sounds cool too...
This is actually something I'd like to use in some of my music. Like an analog colourful reverb-like sound that does a bit more than a tape delay. But yeah, it's a very specific sound.
Phil Spector would love putting this on Ringo's hi-hats Seriously sounds like a great effect to add some colour to tracks. Would be great for psychedelic music too.
Sounds like a variable size chamber reverb with only two porous walls of deflection and no diffussion. I can't believe they have the balls to charge money for this!
Really dig this......and I agree, it's really more of a coloring effect. In some ways it reminds me of a plug called the RoomMachine, can't remember the maker? Technically not "good" sounding, but as they stated that's the point. Super useful imho ;:-)
"Bucket Brigade" analog 'delay" and "reverb" has been around since 1969, I am always amazed when 50 year old technology is "New". You young pups are easily amused. lol
To be honest.. Who the hell actually cares about interface when you can IDENTIFY the plugins sound just by hearing. BTW i freaking love this reverb style. makes it sound distant and loud. and old/clasic. i can see this used on vocal inserts for pop and trap as a one-step finisher. This thing seems to come from a real musical idea.. lotsa caracter and love here
It's a cool plugin, but you could probably achieve a similar effect with a delay grouped with some reverb, saturation, and EQ on a send bus. Aside from that, these types of tones are right up my alley.
You're half right about that. A bucket brigade delay is considered "analog" because, while it samples (time is discrete), it does not quantize signal level (amplitude is non-discrete). In a BBD circuit, the signal level is captured directly as a voltage into a capacitor, rather than having the level measured by an ADC and stored digitally.
Different bucket brigade chips (typically in cheesy guitar pedals) had there own sonic character. If you can get your hands on a Fulltone Tube Tape Echo (holy grail) then all the other delays get tossed into a bucket.
The only good cheese is Dutch cheese ( extra belegen boeren Stolwijker...) but this thing sounds refreshing , reminds me of an old springverb . very nice to put an accent on a vocal or drum part. It ads character unlike a lot of "high end reverbs" luv to see more odd fx ! Thx. Wytse (Gerichhausen ? or that's what your cheeseverb says..lol)
Hey, a note from the maker of this plug-in: We've updated its features and renamed it - it's now called Bucketverb. ua-cam.com/video/xHRxoRYgtSc/v-deo.html to see a quick intro video www.bucketverb.com to demo it!
Ik vind het een mooie plug-in Wytze en ga hem zeker proberen. Bedankt voor de review😎👍👊✌️ik zou wel eens een video willen zien hoe je een mix warm en groot laat klinken😎
A real BBD delay unit has too interpolate all those memory buckets into one solid sound again, which can cause aliasing, along with high frequency clicking. Hence the low passed sound of these units.
Plot Twist: This is MY Mac Pro! 😜
I honestly like how it sounds
Yeah right. I can see some use cases for it.
Yeah right. I can see use cases for it.
Then you'll probably like Tal-Dub Delay too, it's pretty cool
It sounds like the default reverb plugins in FL Studio, lol.
It's like listening to a slight lofi-ish performance from backstage.
In America we'd call that the 'High School Gymnasium' sound. Big and hollow with the woodsy floor. Love that effect. 💪
wow this reverb have actual one of the best sound i had in reverbs lol (at least for vocals)
I like it. Gonna get it now.. Seen a million plugs which have a thousand clones. This is unique, simple and does one job..

I like it a lot, straightforward, no overcomplicating things and a decent sound.
I like the sound of this. Could be a cool automation effect to really emphasize depth in a way. Nice👍🏻
Drums: definitely jamaican style dub drums.
TBH, I did a mix not long ago and I couldn't find a nice ''dark'' sounding reverb. Everything I own just stuck out too much and gave me problems and caused more work. I'll give this a shot :)
Man this has a good “lo-fi” quality to it. Probably would use this when layering sounds and using this to blend with the original sound.

I like it a lot. Your definitely right it’s almost not a reverb but I would use it for backing vocal/ad
Actually, it sounds pretty good on the vocals when used in moderation! But I agree, it does what it's supposed to do very well.
I like the idea of this plugin on synths with more of a highpass cut on it. I think I'll try it out, thanks for the review!
it sounds like a bathroom full of springs. I love it.
a somewhat similar plugin is Snesverb by impact soundworks. it's a recreation of the echo buffer used in the super nintendo
This is actually something I'd like to use in some of my music. Like an analog colourful reverb-like sound that does a bit more than a tape delay. But yeah, it's a very specific sound.
Hmm, a particular slightly lo-fi sound, I suspect I'll end up with one ;-)
Personally I would go with Valhalla Delay. Much more flexible and different sounds. Or even better mturbodelay.
Oh shit that actually sounds pretty damn good!
Phil Spector would love putting this on Ringo's hi-hats
Seriously sounds like a great effect to add some colour to tracks. Would be great for psychedelic music too.
Soulful singer. I like the voice.
Sounds like a variable size chamber reverb with only two porous walls of deflection and no diffussion. I can't believe they have the balls to charge money for this!
It almost sounds like reverb through a box fan. Interesting, but sounds good.
Nice simple plugin. It does what promises and does it well. It’s a winner!
Really dig this......and I agree, it's really more of a coloring effect. In some ways it reminds me of a plug called the RoomMachine, can't remember the maker?
Technically not "good" sounding, but as they stated that's the point. Super useful imho ;:-)
i actually really like it for this style of music
friends help...I don't get it. Why is "SANDSTORM" always a different Song??? :D
It´s a meme
I was wondering the exact same thing! :)

@@jefbenley4409 Yep.
@@jefbenley4409 I am currently restoring a 1970s PAIA Modular System synth. The original 'Eurorack' DIY kits. lol
I actually like it, one trick pony but it's a great trick!
We like it thank you 🙏🏻
Bucket Brigade DEVICE.

It certainly sounds different, and 40 bucks won't break the bank.

Am I incorrect in thinking that for $39 we're almost up to the cost of the cheapest hardware effects pedal with a real BBD device in it?
Automate the time slider and you got a dope effect
Yes indeed. Watch for the next Cheeseverb update. 3 words: ELL EFF OH.
the famous bathroom reverb
Can you try Lurssing mastring control?
In my opinion it sounds beautiful. BTW, what is that vocal track?
It"s considered analog, but in principle you are quantizing and sampling, so i think a BBD is more a digital/analog hybrid

This sounds kinda good actually.
Sounds like a phonograph, not bad at all....
Can you review KUSH AUDIO UBK-1? and Clariphonic
Cheese grater verb: Just sing into a cheese grater, it gives amazing reverb.
Wow... you actually asked yourself if the PCM60 was a digital reverb??….. Uuummmm… with PCM in the name, I'd say YES!
Funny how different that sandstorm song sounds every time you play it. First time i hear the girl singer on it.
I love love this review! I want to get it now!!
It reminds me of the radio shack reverb unit
Different bucket brigade chips (typically in cheesy guitar pedals) had there own sonic character. If you can get your hands on a Fulltone Tube Tape Echo (holy grail) then all the other delays get tossed into a bucket.
probably can get this sound form lil primal tap
Mac and cheese Gouda Gouda sounds like Limburger cheese :-) Love it .Like a fondue, that cheesy.
Reminds me of voxengo oldskoolverb
Yes I too think it sounds grate!
Any experience with Golden Age Project gear?

Alte analog elektronische Delay habe ne ähnliche Strukturen....für kleine Räume hebt dieser Effekt die bearbeitete Spur hervor...mag es 👍
Grate video.
Still waiting for a full Neutron 3 Mix

I like it very much
Unfortunately no dry - wet button :(
I like the space it creates and the sound. But compared to valhalla dsp bbd is really cheesy ;)
Is there any Snake Oil episode where you actually DO use Darude - Sandstorm???? lol
Another top video! Enjoyable, funny and interesting as usual. Thank you for explaining the BBD in a simple way that my dumb@ss can understand it ;).
The thumbnail XD
thats exactly what we're hering
love the way you pronounce some words 😜❤️
Great Mac Pro joke!
1:00 what the water comes out as a deodorant?
Parmigiano reggiano!
Maybe not snakeoil but also not vegan. (:
I Liiiiiiike it
Golden Hearing Hearing Hearing
Hi! Please tell me, what is with the "Darude - Sandstorm" joke?
Plain and simple. He just thinks it's funny. Nothing behind it that I know of.
@@alexbreyer6921 I thought that he was trolling copyright trolls.
He doesn't have the right to use audio from artists, so he claim using the Darude-Sandstorm as a replacement, and it is obviously a joke.
Ahhh haha the new Mac there so ungrateful 😂
BBD stands for Bucket Brigade Device (named after the way firemen worked in ancient times...)!
Please Check TC Finalizer App
Should be free. I like it tho.
"...it aggressively rolls off higher frequencies to avoid aliasing". Why would a delay cause aliasing?
Cheese related synth: U-he Triple Cheese!

Ruud Lexis Exactly. The high frequency clock the drives the bbd creates noise that has to be filtered out.
cheesy
ow its fun! 4sur
