В Латинских танцах ДАМА - 66 % успеха (а то и все 75!) - мужчина - типа возле неё! В стандартных танцах 50-50! (если в Вальсе будут оба подпрыгивать - то тогда НУЛЬ).
I know these couples are some of the best dancers in the world. But I think Ricardo and Yulia have this fierce, gung ho, damn the torpedoes style about them. All or nothing, everything just flung out on the floor. And that is what makes champions.
At 3.30 the opening sequence of the Cha Cha Cha perfectly shows you exactly ‘why’ Riccardo & Yulia are in a league of their own, their dynamic movement make the others look like they’re standing still!
My wife called me home from the studio to watch Yulia's samba in 2006 maybe. Still, she is the most amazing female on the planet. "The Beat" I'm still impressed.

Yulia and Ricardo changed dramatically compared to last year. They look so fun, especially in cha cha ! I like Yulia's dynamic expression in that dance. Her confident expressions over Ricardo make me remind her dance with Maxim. Because Ricardo has more power and dynamic movements than Maxim, it has taken years for her to afford to express herself.
I met yulia dancing with Maxim and my fascination with her was immediate. With Max the dance was more pop, more contemporary, with Ricardo she has more intimacy but I think the choices are much more conservative. Ricardo has some strength but I still prefer yulia dancing with Maxin.

This is a competition for 2nd place. They just should have given R&Y the trophy before they got on the floor and asked them to sit this one out. They made this field look rather ordinary.
Troels and Ina have really improved a lot over the last year when Ricardo and Yulia retire I think they will be the next first place couple to rein but R&Y are still better!
Em Hu Lol, better than Riccardo & Yulia in Paso???? T&I are not even in the same hemisphere, R&Y’s paso doble is considered the best in the world, no one comes close to them, watch any of their brilliant show performances, they have millions of views for a reason. Ina is not in the same league as Yulia, especially movement wise, also too small in her range of motion, not enough flexibility, especially her inability to arch her back, she’s too straight.
Юля выиграла ещё платьем, она может стоять, а платье танцевать вокруг неё. Остальные должны двигать корпусом в два раза активнее, но они слабы в этом. Поэтому статика рулит. Ещё очень плохо все танцуют пасодобль. Дамы слишком напряжены и скрючены, они должны быть пластичными, как плащ тореадора. Жаль, что сейчас не танцуют движение "парус", с напряжением его не исполнить.
Some male dancers look as if they are trying to outdo their female partner rather than pulling the attentive eye to the lady and showing her off as it should be..

R and Y have changed Latin totally, most look slow compared to them, their precision is amazing. Ina looked good to, but because she is dancing more like Yulia.
Pro dancing has gone to far with the posing, super slow and super fast movements. None of the couples danced that cha cha to the music, to the beat, or represented basic cha cha action at all. There should be a clear and natural synergy between the dancing and the music.
ClavisRa.. I agree to a large degree and I've been banging on about this for a long time.. I have decades of involvement in this sport, so I have historical knowledge. This used to be known as ballroom Latin dancing and was considered as an art form Then it was decided to change the name to dancesport and take it into a new direction. The emphasis here is on the term SPORT. Why? Because the people who run the show decided that it should become an Olympic sport.That is still the objective. Remember the IOC creed is FASTER_HIGHER_STRONGER so that's what the focus is on now and has been for the past 25 or so years. This is dancing presented as an athletic form and it does have a place and in its own way a spectacle to watch. However until this sport can come up with a fairer, more transparent and honest judging system, it has about as much chance of being accepted into the Olympic games as flying to the moon on a kite. That I believe was allegedly what was told to dancesport many years ago by the IOC. Now because of this direction change the focus is no longer near as much on the artistic side of dance but rather a relentless pursuit of speed, power, strength, physical endurance,agility and athleticism. This is the result. I have great respect for what these dancers can do and appreciate it for what it is. I so do miss that sensuous artistic side that seems to be so missing now in competitive Latin dancing.
ClavisRa all the dancers have a ‘set piece’ they perform for each genre with some improvisation as well, so depending on the music style they can then speed it up or slow it down to be in sync with the music but it’s impossible to just do all improv in order to dance perfectly to the beat because then it would look too chaotic & messy. That’s why Riccardo & Yulia are so talented because they’re able to choreograph routines that best interpret the music & can also adapt their performances to suit as well, their musicality & artistry is special.

There was one Ameeican Rhyghm couple that set themselves apart by emphasizing the artistry and that was Leann Churalova and Emmanuel Pierre Antoine. They were a joy to watch! Now, as I watch Larin, I dont know what the judges look for. Every couple is attempting to go faster and be more athletic than the next. The style of the dance is often not present and timing? I say bring back the dancing and leave the Sport out.
I know, but maybe in a one to million chance the person responsible reads this. I'd really hate it if I had to dance Samba to basically just beats, it's hard to portray emotion and relate to the piece if there's no melody.
VIomouse. Have to agree. It happens alot in dancesport now and I cant help but feel this is adding to the reasons why this style of Latin dancing has all but lost it true Latin authenticity.
