@@chrisparkes2179 The people get what they deserve - treat your town centre like a shit hole and that's what it becomes. Only back in the 90s and 00's Hanley was a place where hundreds of people would sit out in the sun eating their sandwiches and not throwing their crap everywhere. Mind you there were a lot more places to sit (fountain square) and a lot more bins.
Nice to see Hanley has been spruced up a bit but it could do with more greenery. It would look even better if they can bring down the leasehold on the small shops so they can be filled up with businesses. Get people backout and shopping in Hanley again, there seems to be more drunks and junkies than people shopping. Wouldnt mind seeing Wimpy's and Wendy's back in Hanley and Longton! Even the pigeons are flying else where to find better peckings left by people, the place is a ghost town.

There are many nice areas around Hanley, but like a lot of city centres, not brilliant for family life. I'd highlight the south of the city (where I'm from) for good schools. The Trentham and Blurton/Newstead areas have some above national average schools at primary and secondary level. Yes, I'm biased but the pre-pandemic performance was good in these schools www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk/schools-by-type?step=phase®ion=861&geographic=la&phase=secondary&for=secondary
@@OggyGTA Thank you Paul. I had a job offer from Stoke and was wondering whether I should relocate with my family. We decided against it as the wage that was offered was not what I was expecting. Thank you anyway for the reply!
@@TheAndrei40 yep, I worked for 7 years down in Hampshire as wages were 50% higher. On the other hand house prices are very reasonable (cheap!) around Stoke.
I have never been to England, and with pleasure I will walk along these ancient streets with you!
Thank you
@Random Songs In Locrian your from stoke onner Yuh??
The newly paved pedestrian streets look great, Shame about the lack of trees though. Trees make cities beautiful and make us feel better As well. THX
Thank you
We used to have flower beds but they got used as litter bins after people had mindlessly pulled the plants up.
