    Yellowstone is a drama series that follows the Dutton family, led by patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner). I love how Rip the younger and the big man just tells Beth when he doesn’t understand what she’s talking about. And he does it without embarrassment, it’s just a fact. There are plenty of things he knows that Beth would have no idea about.

      I'll agree with you on the two thumbs up part. The best western ever made? I'd go with Tombstone on that one. Yellowstone is great so far, and the previews I've seen indicate it will continue to be so. But it doesn't yet have the long term history of the Tombstone saga.

    • @razztastic
      @razztastic Рік тому

      Yellowstone is not the best western ever made. Not even possibly. Yellowstone is okay at best when compared to the likes of Tombstone and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Even Django Unchained, but hell it's hardly fair to compare anything to a Tarantino film.
      Shit, it's okay at best even when you don't compare it to those legendary pieces of western storytelling. The writing's all over the place and it's not a secret to anyone that season 4 was a wash.

    I wish they had talked to Kevin and Luke Grimes about that amazing scene where Kayce tells the story of what he had to do in war. It was an amazing scene, and the best in the episode. Its disappointing that we didn't get to hear how the actors approached that scene.

    • @Ucanchokeonit
      @Ucanchokeonit 4 роки тому +8

      There wasn't ever a chance that would of happened. The scene made the show because it's necessary for context into Kayce's past. But there's no way in hell Hollywoods liberal bias would ever dignify it by putting it in the spotlight. The fact is that there are thousands of real life "Kayce's" in this country that wound up in very bad situations with no good choices and no time to make one. By highlighting the scene it gives the issue legitimacy and would make people feel empathy for soldiers. Hollywood has made it abundantly clear they do not support soldiers. But they clearly have no problem with appropriating their lives for dramatic storytelling. You're right, it really is too bad they didn't feature that scene. It could have brought attention to a very real and very serious issue that desperately needs to be talked about.
      On a side note, I want to add that 95% of the time the real people that experienced similar experiences like Kayce's story do not have lives nearly as easy as it's played on the show. I've seen what it really looks like first hand very closely and it's not easy to watch. It's actually extremely painful. Please never forget that.

    • @CardinalX
      @CardinalX 4 роки тому +2

      @@Ucanchokeonit everyone's entitled to their opinions. What may be "clear" to you is not necessarily clear to others. People like to paint "Hollywood" with one great big paintbrush that fits their narrative. But it's rarely exactly the case.

    Anytime I ever did anything I thought my father wouldn’t approve of, I told him to his face at the earliest opportunity. I leaned a lot from that, because despite the fact that he expected honesty from others, he had difficulty dealing with it.
    My two younger brothers always played games and lied instead. Guess which one of us all has a clear conscience.
    I’m glad to admit that when I was young, there were aspects of Kayce about me. But overall I’m much more like Beth, because she knows how to deal with her father, and therefore the world. Rip is lucky to have her. She is the Valkyrie.
    What Jamie did to Beth was the worst. It was the work of a coward, and a very weak creature.

    I really enjoy the writer/showrunner's material, respect this show and its very colorful character yet don't enjoy all of it/ a lot doesn't seem realistic(even though SOME scenes are realer than real - if that makes sense...)
    Beth's/Rip's development as a person&how they will do anything to get a step above everyone else seems rather indicative of sociopathy(One: not a psychiatrist - just throwing shit at the wall and hope it sticks) Typically people who grow up to function in such a manner encounter trauma in their early childhood and lack the essential guidance required to properly grow into themselves. Those two influences are crucial when gleaning such a way of coping/dealing with things.
    Symptoms for ASP: Lack of empathy(wouldn't say that's applicable), Difficult relationships, Manipulativeness, Deceitfulness, Hostility, Irresponsibility, Risky behavior yadayadayada.
    Boom, I just analyzed the behavioural traits of freakin fictional characters(I have got way to much time on my hands...)
    Having APD isn't equal to being a shitty person - your still very much human but process things in a more mechanistic fashion where instead of acting with emotion one hides it and winds-up situations like an engineer must bend things to meet the end they desire.
    Have great day folks!

    Why did the writers use sex as teenage Beth’s coping mechanism for her mothers death? Why not anything else? The only reason I ask is bc the drama between Beth and Jamie is beyoooooond overcooked it’s burnt to a crisp throw it away now! It would be nice if someone held Beth accountable for fucking around at the age she was if she’s gonna torture Jamie the whole series

    Beth is still one of the worst* characters on television. Every attempt to humanize her they make just farther proves she's a psychopath.
    *brilliantly portrayed, well written, even if her shtick of being the worst human possible is wearing thin after four seasons.

    The Dad is my least favorite person.
    What an ass of a parent for his kids. One daughter, two sons left. All damaged.
    No wonder Kayce doesn't bring his son around.
    Grandparents out there? Think about it.
    John emasculates his son Jamie at every turn.

    "You know that beth could just eat him alive not in her sexuality but in her mind".
    Seriously? They really go to far with this new age PC garbage. Meaning she plays a huge role already and you wouldn't hear the end of it if in a movie a male claimed to be more intelligent than a female and not just as adults but saying even as kids you've always been stupid compared to me. Why can't everything just be on an equal footing instead of the only way they can show a strong independent, intelligent woman is always somehow by putting a man down beneath her.
    In comedies, sitcoms, movies even allot of written publications articles within major newspaper outlets.
    The scene i watched and what i gathered was Rip falling in love with her immediately even as a young man therefore does whatever she asks or wants not that either one is less intelligent than the other but because he loves her and craves love due to his childhood. That's also why he's so adamant about loyalty and trust.
    "progressive" people always saying about her role played as an adult that she's basically smarter than everyone because she's a no nonsense, strong woman who knows how to bend all men to either her purposefully attracting them, sleeping with them(could have a major definition for that one) or blackmailing them to get what she wants, she puts everyone in their place and somehow all her actions are fully justified. she faces no repercussions because she's so intelligent that she can demolish anyone due to she's not one to be messed with especially and mostly by men.
    What they won't say (but clearly is a far better descriptive way of summing her up) that she's passed bit#h and hit c##t (I hate that word but its so deserving) a long, long time ago. Never takes any responsibility for her actions even as a child because she's just never wrong, she a textbook narcissist, egomaniac, psychopath, who's psychotic behavior leads everyone to believe that the only thing she loves and that makes her happy is purposefully being a sociopath and she literally knows that's the behavior she presents to everyone yet is proud to do so.
    See your not allowed to say that because she's somehow in a protected group that you can't be honest about if the honesty is negative is some way smh.
    But yea that real equality for you. I guess regression is the only way to achieve equality these days.

      She feels responsible for her mom dying. Even though it was an accident, she doesn't perceive it that way. Pretty sure from what we see in the scenes with young Rip and Beth is that she's just trying to have some sort of control over any situation because she didn't when her mom died. The easiest way for her to do so is with a young boy that's her age and also traumatized and shes starting to cut her teeth at how she can control him. It's not sexual at first obviously but they grow into a sexual relationship. Also it's a fucking TV show get a grip dude.
