    I got the ultimate edger when I saw your video! It is a great tool. Now everytime someone mentions one I share your link. I think next tool I buy will be the wore tool you recommend. I am a huge fan of wood ribs and metal ribs.

    There is such a big difference between name brand (i.e.-Kemper and MudTools) and the knock-offs. It's better to pay more and get fewer tools which will last longer. Once again, such a well done video - thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    Hi Marie, Many thanks for your videos. What size edger would you recommend?

      @PotteryCrafters  2 роки тому +1

      You're welcome Amynah. I would recommend starting with the smaller edger unless you throw larger pieces more often. 😊👍

    Do you have any suggestions for what to do with the water that is used while throwing? I know the water should not go down the drain as it will clog pipes. But I live in a townhome and my lawn is the size of bedroom so I don't have a yard to dump a lot of clay water. Any suggestions? Thanks so much for your videos! Love your calm demeanor and helpful tips :-)

      Thank you very much, Julie. I don't want to go too fast when you're trying to learn. 😊 Thank you for the video suggestion. I put my throwing water in a bucket. Pour it through a sieve and cover the top with a cloth or a screen to keep the clay clean of debris. Let the clay settle and take the water off the top. Then let the clay dry out. When you do this mold may grow. You can also add vinegar. If you are not allergic to mold it will give your clay more plasticity. Hope this helps 😊

      @@PotteryCrafters thanks very much! I tried the sieve yesterday and it worked well. I was able to separate and then dump out the water. :-)

    Hi I don't have a kiln is it good to use porcelain clay outside in home made fire klin i have earthware grog and porcelian clay I'm a beginner kiln is expensive in South Africa so I'll use the traditional method you think its good

    • @PotteryCrafters
      @PotteryCrafters  3 роки тому

      I would suggest using earthenware clay. You will have less of a chance of cracking. Because of the lower temperature you are firing, your pottery will not be food safe. But you can make decorative Pottery. 😊

      Make sure you use a low fire glaze because the heat of the fire will not be hot enough melt high fire glazes. Hope these helps 😍

      @@PotteryCrafters isit the same microwave one uses to warm food?

    • @PotteryCrafters
      @PotteryCrafters  3 роки тому

      Sorry not sure I understood the question. You can use your pottery to heat food in the microwave, but you can't make pottery by heating it up in the microwave. If there is such a clay I have not heard of it. Hope this helps 😊
