I'm a teacher, English, and I dabble in art. Your teaching style is really nice, its supportive and takes the student's self-worth, esteem and value into consideration while critiquing. Taking criticism is one of the hardest things people experience and if it comes from a kind and caring place it builds up. If it is perceived as being too negative it can be devastating. Great job, really enjoyed this video and I personally learned a lot from it.

Surely it depends how long the person has been drawing for. If this person started drawing a month ago then sure, be gentle. If they've been drawing a year, wouldn't it be better to tell them they just haven't got what it takes?

The artist of the original drawing is Käthe Kollwitz. Thanks for sharing this critique, Matt and Yusra.

This is so interesting. The original appears to my eyes male and the copy female? It appears to come the brow and the jaw but it is so much of a fine tuning issue isn;t it 🇨🇦
