She probably went out there to get some match warmup for home slam. Doesn’t make sense to get injured at a 250 event. She is still a bit unsure about playing in the slam due to her recent injury. I am sure she would have preferred to play her home slam.

Love watching Erica play. At first I used to wonder who is this little quiet girl. Like her a lot.
Why was Collins raising the racket and interupting the match? She is suppose to be ready when the server is ready. That is what she, Gauff, Pegula and the rest of the American tennis media is always accusing Iga of.
There was a group of rowdy fans throughout the match that caused both players to stop and wait MANY times for umpire to call them out. She was actually helping Erika to be free from service distraction. Erika also had to wait and stop several times.

I'm glad that the rude Collins is retiring before the end of this year.

Great win for Erika! Very nice match from her. But it's a shame that Collins is lost, I hope she will be back in shape for the US Open, which will be her last grand slam, and especially at home.

Peculiar loss by Danielle. Why did she not dominate? I mean, Erika is okay and is improving but still -- no one would have bet on her beating Collins.
She is still unsure about playing the slam due to her recent injury. She went out there to get some warmup so it gives her more insight on her recovery. She missed the entire North America tour m. She is scheduled to play on Tuesday.

Danielle came from a very humble background. Her parents can’t afford those expensive classes. She earned herself a free tuition to Chris Everette academy. She made it to d1 at UVA winning NCAA twice. In addition, She has a masters degree. She is world number 11. She earned two back to back big titles this year. She did these all on her own. She never throws a racket or a ball at anyone. She checked on Iga right away when it happened. Every player has had their share of bad moments. They are humans. What is so Karen about her? How about you try to accomplish what she has done in a year for her career? All I see is a hard working woman who paves her own path, the traditional hard working American value. look at Emma Navarro’s comment to QW Zhang upon winning her gold medal. That was rude.

I feel the opposite. She is independent and hard working. She paved her own career path. She has accomplished big things. She has her education, sports career, most likely ending her career in top 10, prize money of $8.5M, and she is only 30. What have you accomplished?
Accomplishments do not fix attitude issues. Imagine waking up every day to a partner who is bossy, arrogant and tells you to "shut up".
