Qatar Airways is one of the top airlines in the world. The airline is known for its revolutionary Qsuite and top shelf beverage. However, very little marketing has been done for the carrier’s actual top shelf cabin - first class.
The eight open plan suite at the front of Qatar’s A380 upper deck is the crown jewel of the airline’s offerings. While the cabin is understated without the customary A380 shower, the timeless Al Safwa ground experience to the vintage Krug and Grand Cru Classe on the wine list makes Qatar’s first class the pinnacle of air hospitality in the 21st century.

Local competitors like Emirates & Etihad keep the focus on giving their customers the best unlike American/Canadian airlines where we are treated like cattle in economy and suckers in business.

Great job! I just booked Qatar Business class from Doha to SFO next June. I'll be watching your video again as the date gets closer. One thing that might help is adding chapters to your video to help guide the viewer. Otherwise, some great footage and lounge coverage, which is very helpful. (The lounge is the main reason I chose to start in Doha...though now I have to find a way there.)

Have watched a few of your reviews and am amazed by the amount of Alcohol you consume I too travel for business and yes in the same cabins as you and am yet to have any alcoholic beverage yet.

The only allowing one glass at the table is silly as you only have one mouth. Would be more efficient for the staff to serve two at once, especially if one does not have to be cold.

Nice. Can you post the wine/champagne selection in the Al Safwa First lounge? Many years ago they apparently served Krug champagne.

I am hoping to fly this exact segment in March 2023. From CDG to BKK via doha using avios. Anyone know if I will be given access to the first class lounge since it is not a cash ticket?
I really enjoy your channel. Great work on these. Do you know if there are any time restrictions at Al Safwa? I have a long layover coming up and would prefer to stay there versus booking the transit hotel or staying in Doha.
There shouldn't be any time limit if you are traveling first class but I remember the private room may have a 6 hours usage limit or something
@@ShanghaiFlyer Thank you. It’s a 14 hour layover so maybe the transit hotel isn’t a bad idea. Otherwise I run the risk of meandering through the entire wine list.

You use the terms Bourgeois as well Hoi Polloi quite a lot mostly in regards to the commotion beneath you. As someone who feels a need to apologize for my white, rich ancestry, do you feel that it is right to take over our transgressions? Just asking because you are a college student and perhaps you don’t need to use the terms “foot man”, hoi poloi, or bourgeois. Please don’t as I won’t employ the term Kleptocrat - ever: again.

Thanks for this excellent and honest review. I agree with all points you raised - especially that it's not a huge leap above the already great QSuites experience. What surprised me most was that Al Safwa lounge meals are reheated and not freshly prepared. I have the reverse of this flight booked in September. I'm glad to know what to expect.
What shoes were you wearing looks good and comfortable
Always an excellent experience "traveling with you!" I have flown on quite a few international carriers in First, but not Qatar (so far!). Are the face masks required onboard, or are they a personal option? Cheers!!
Facemasks are still required on all Qatar flights
I flu Qatar airways QSuites ( business class ) last month . Masks are required , but ( almost ) nobody wears them and the crew does not say anything so you more or less do what you want . The crew wears all masks though .

I concur Glen. This wanky snobbery is such a massive turn off. Kindess and appreciation is everything and this vlogger lacks them both.
You will have to compare this with other first class checkin experience not economy. So if lets say you are flying emirates and the checkin experience is only 3 minutes then by that standard 12 minutes is long.

Dr Cola & A AM ... arrogance is off-putting be it economy or first class. Vloggers like @trektrendy are so popular because they don't display these awful traits and they travel far more than this chap.

Nicely done. Thank you. I disagree though when you say the wine in the lounge is free. The wine is included in the price of your First Class ticket, paid for by you or someone else. There is no such thing as free.

The thing with QR’s “first class” is that it’s business class with the exception of the Arabic coffee and wine selection. The rest (even the crew) is exactly the same as business
Not really though….different and better food and wine, different lounge, smaller cabin, better crew to passenger ratio to say a few differences.
@@hovelad8214 in part, yeah, but other than catering being +100% of each option unlike Business, it’s basically the same thing.
QR calls business “Fist class” on their intra-gulf and Arabic sectors with same levels of staffing, if not less due to the shortages they’re having. Just smoke and mirrors for the entitled of the region to feel better about themselves
Never understood first class - unless you had FU money.
I flew business twice, just because it was a short stay and I wanted to sleep through the flight and wake up fresh. Nothing to do with the food or ambience or comfort.

QATAR AIRW. certainly is a very good airline for first class, but economy class is much worse. and this is scandalous. i flew FCO / BKK / FCO in March and April. bad service. never again

It comes across as a little arrogant
Last time I took this same flight to BKK in business class, it was quite disappointing as the plane was worn and dirty, my seat smelled moldy, there was dirt and dust inside the gaps, the leather looked well used and worn. And the lounge was a let down as well, too big with too high ceiling, people look at you eye to eye because it feels just a giant lobby space, no intimacy, loud noise, too crowded and busy, never get seats at restaurant, refreshment stands too far away, doesn’t feel pampered, major failure in the lounge.
I'm sorry to have to admit to being a little disappointed with this video. I don't know why you wouldn't have given a better look at the menus, in the lounge and on board, in such a way as to make them readable. Even pausing the video didn't provide a clear complete view. I watch a number of videos like this, by many posters, and my favorite part (since I've seen pretty much every type of plane) is to see what different airlines offer their first class and business passengers in terms of food and beverage.
