As a HUGE fan of the Tower 28 sunny days foundation, I was instantly sold on your concealer review and bought it. I agree that Tower 28 undertones are very well thought out. True neutral is so hard to find and their foundation does not oxidize on me (my oily skin makes everythinggg oxidize). I'm excited!
I believe BU is a shortened version of Malibu
Love using a light bronzer like that. I use the VB one, too, and have used the lightest Char tilbs bronzer as well.
The concealer almost looks like a better version of the Glossier concealer in terms of coverage and finish.
Dear God I hope you are right. The Glossier is my go to but I want just a bit more coverage for my under eyes.

For the neck: I microneedle at home with a good roller, every few weeks and it does wonders for the neck and face 🙌🏼😍

I have Maidens Blush and Crystal Slipper and they both pull super pink on me. I’m a light/medium with a more golden undertone in the summer and neutral in the winter. I love the formula but I wish they looked more brown-y on me like they do on you!

Hi! The Tower concealer is gorgeous on you (and in principle!) How would you compare it to the Givenchy? RMS blushes named Sangria and (as you know) the coral are warm. I love them for summer. I’d LOVE your take on the new rms spf & serum too.

I worked at a cinema here is Australia that was marketed as “the home of The Room” and they played it monthly and Greg Sestero came for a q&a twice while I worked there - real nice guy, and I think, very aware of the nutso nature of his notability. We used to hand out the spoons ourselves for chucking at the screen, no BYO necessary 😂🙄
I saw the “Disaster Artist” when it came out. It was bizarre and hilarious. I also just immediately purchased Crystal Slipper 😅 thanks for the rec

I just bought three of the RMS blushes! I am 46, and have to be careful about my apples looking too pore-ish. HAHA! They are perfect, no pores busting out. Love your reviews! Love the honesty! Ooh the rosy light drops look strikingly similar to the ByTerry rosy elixir serum but it’s actually cheaper so I might have to try. The ByTerry product has been a staple for me.

I'm pretty sure she's using the Finding Ferdinand mascara-- it's another tubing formula. I remember her talking about it ages ago when reviewing a number of different tubing mascaras, but I don't think she's said anything about it recently. I can't really remember what Kackie said about the formula back then, but I've noticed she's been using it in the last few videos. I hope she will give some updated thoughts! ❤❤❤

So many of these bands you’ve listed are still so seminal to me… But, oh my God, I still fuck up some mountain goats, and of Montreal Hardcore. I’ve seen them both in concert so many times… My entire heart. ♥️ (nice to hear someone else givin them some love.😊)

My nickname as a toddler was “grubby bunny” and I can’t say that it doesn’t still fit. I appreciate that there are other people that operate grubbily!

My son chose “Grubb” as one of his childhood monikers. He named his baseball bat “Grubby Fist”. 🤭 BTW, he’s in his 30’s and still uses it online.
@@kackie tangent: my father had numerous nicknames for me, all with a misogynistic slant. The ones I’ll mention are “Miss Windy” and “Prisseneller”. Being a tomboy, they all rubbed me the wrong way. I was named after my mum’s maternal grandmother, so my mum called me what her grandfather called his wife.
The most despised nickname I had was “Maggot”, because growing up on a farm, and knew at a very early age what those were. The folks who used it chose it as a diminutive of my first name, plus enjoyed getting under my skin. I’ve speculated that it’s part of the reason why I always hated my first name. Still don’t like it, but I tell myself that at least it wasn’t trendy for my generation.
How does the tower28 compare to the kulfi?
Since your year of Clean Beauty, so many brands have popped up or formulas have been updated. Would you review some more of them:Jouer, Mob Beauty, Doll 10 to name a few.
No expert but have played with LOTS of cosmetic formulas and guessing the brightened pearlescence could come from the way the titanium dioxide, pigments (iron oxides) and emollients are working together in the formula. I've noticed this effect in "tone up" sunscreens before with this combo of Titanium dioxide, emollients and iron oxides but no mica or mica mimicking synthetics 🤷🏽♂

Trying to figure out my shade in the Tower 28 concealer. Do you consider yourself a light medium? Their shades go light then medium and there’s no light medium option which is what I always choose in concealers.
How would you compare this Tower 28 to your favorite Givechy concealer?

Many Tower 28 lines are named after LA places. Bronzers after art museums, skin tint after roads. I actually live in the neighborhood of my concealer shade! lmao. TY for the RMS comparisons. You have to get Mai Tai, it's so beautiful.
As a fellow Angeleno I would never think of any of these neighborhoods as initials. Also is “CC” Culver City or Century City?” 😅😂

The only time I ever use the initials for places is when I’m texting about them with friends and some coworkers. I do use BH, SaMo, CC (which I use for both Culver and Century, but distinguish with context clues), and some of the others but I still cringe when people refer to Malibu as “the BU”.
Not just LA either. She also included us OC and IE peeps. lol. I was born and raised in OC/LA and have no idea what BU stands for.
Oh wait…the BU. Malibu. Ugh.

Can’t tell if anyone answered this but BU is short for Malibu, like the ‘BU (yikes/cringe) and CC is prob Culver City but I never hear anyone using those initials. Same for many, though you do see DTLA on signs and people say WeHo and KTown. I say LBC (Long Beach city) but only to be cute. Curious if any LA people have ever called Santa Monica SAMO? Maybe they used that just to avoid SM, haha. But anyway they had a lot of shades to name and it’s a cute concept, like everything LA-centric they do! Can’t wait to try it. Love it when you’re feeling yourself-def more 22 than 36❤

how would you compare the tower 28 concealer to the kulfi?

Kulfi is heavier? Like not HEAVY but emollient and higher coverage. It feels more wax/oil based and this is light as air.
Now I have the mental image of you opening PR like a little raccoon.
How dewy and shiny is this foundation after it sets? Can it be powdered down some, if you don’t want to be luminous everywhere? I nearly grabbed it yesterday. But I’m in Texas, and I get luminous within an hour anyway, so just curious how much I can tone that down, and keep it toned down.
It's SO thin on the skin it is definitely able to tolerate powder! It's dewier on me too because I start with dewy skin prep.
I couldn't identify anything in the tower 28 concealer that would necessarily create a luminous finish except mayyyybe the titanium dioxide? Or possibly the magnesium chloride. I find that unlikely.. But there's nothing in it that screams mica or pearl(synthetic or otherwise). The ingredients look really promising though! 👀

All the other reviews i have seen before do not give a dewy or shiny appearance at all for the concealer. It could be the primer you put on before and most of all the other people have gotten full full coverage. It’s giving full coverage on your face for sure ! Looks great ❤

Kackie, I have oily and seriously hooded eyes. I have almost done away with eyeshadow all together. The RMS eye lights have gone i n and out of my cart multiple times. Crease-free shadow does not work for meeee.

I have oily lids and have two suggestions: MAC Prep and Prime 24-Hour Extend Eye Base, or NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base (the regular clear one).
Nars eye primer is the best! Been using it for years and years and it helps shadows stay so much. I absolutely rely on it.

I remember watching The Room for the first time in animation school, and it’s a bizarre cringe train wreck. I believe the cost came (partially) from the fact that he bought his own cameras equipment (everyone rents it, even the big studio budget stuff) and he filmed everything in two different formats. Which still seems crazy to me.
