That was definitely a good one man, and I think the shade top just added a little extra something for me. You never know though, among these traders, these things pass around like poker chips, and you may get the chance again lol. I know of two different guys who have owned that guitar twice each; they just keep going back and forth. 😀
Hi Shawn, do you ever get pre-war smaller bodies, or always Dread’s? Getting closer to getting a pre-war, but just think a dread is too big, not sure. How do you keep them humidified Shawn? Just truly enjoy your videos and knowledge. Thanks so much
Brother I really appreciate that you let me know the videos are enjoyable. We had one PW small body on last year, and I thought that was a really exceptional guitar. Other than that, they have all been dreadnoughts. Just speaking for what I like, but they would definitely be high on my list if I was going for a small body, more so than a dread. As far as humidification, I typically use the D’Addario products that has a sponge that you wet, and stick back in the casing, which goes between the strings.
You had me scratching my head there for a minute lol. I was trying to remember a 52 D-18, and kept recalling a 52 28, but yeah, I liked that 54! This D has D’Addario XS-17s on it; should have been the same on your 54. I sure appreciate you taking the time to watch these!

This way people can’t say that one guitar would have sounded as good as another guitar, if it only had the same strings on it lol. I figured we would eliminate that part of the equation at least, and make the listening experience more consistent.
Love pre war guitars but…. Depends if your going for that immediate age or top of the line; gonna be priceless for your grandkids guitar. Pre war and Atkins guitars are the top of the immediate range. However, check out Jimmy Edmonds if you want one that is breast fed every day by one and only one master luthier for 6 months. Jimmy’s guitar will devour any competition on the first day but you can only imagine what they will sound like when your kin picks up the torch.
