LS on blk steeles. 73/74 grill with you name UBT on the bed sides washed down .great find.
Probably not going LS on this one but 73/74 grille is on the way. :)
1. Static drop
2. Detroit steel 20s
3. Whitlock Garage on the doors
4. Cue the music 😆
Keep it super simple I want to see that k5 finished Robbie!
Exactly, though I must say Whitlock Garage is non-existent. Now some UBT door logos might be cool. But love all that you laid out. Same page.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS I agree with the above comment. Get you an artist to do some faded UBT logos on there and DEFINITELY Detroit 20s. 350 with a Holley Terminator kit. Transformed and roll out!!
As a small used car dealer that has loaded a one car trailer way more than I would admit here are a couple unsolicited loading tips. Go buy harbor freight, and spend 20 bucks and buy wheel chalks for your trailer and a jack stand. Set the the jack stand un extended under the rear lip of your trailer so the trailer can fall about 2"s. Once loaded you will have to pull forward to get it out from under but it will make your loading experience 789% better. Furthermore pull your loads further up on your trailer until the rear of your pulling truck starts to sag a little. Too much rear trailer weight will but a much rougher pull and can make your trailer tail whip your truck.
Love your channel excited about this build.
Thanks so much for the tips. We're always experiencing with placement on the trailer and actually pulled this one forward a little more off camera. All that said, thanks for the tips. Much appreciated! Thanks for tuning in.
Needs that Brian Harrison formula. Set it down on 18s & 20s with small tucked chrome bumpers and it will be good to go! Maybe even do a UBT Garage logo on the door, scuffed and weathered to match the patina.
I like you're thinking. :)
UBT on the door 4/6 drop white steel wheels with nice set of hubcaps and leave it a straight 6 and 3 on the tree 👍🏻
Now we’re talking...
Slammed 5.3 tucking 22, killer 🤟🤟🤟👏👏👏
Haha we’re going more budget friendly on this one
👍👍👍 V e r y n i c e 👍👍👍
Perfect shop truck
For sure!
Cant beat a shorty! I love the simpleness of these trucks. V6 or Straight? Sorry had to watch it again and actually listen! I love the straight 6's.
Straight 6 baby. And that's what sealed the deal with me on this one. Love the bare bones trucks.
Another great find wish I had the money to go out a find great deals thumbs up 👍
Those hubcaps are killer. You have to run them on some big steelies. Hood hinges and a hood too. That thing looks awesome.
Thanks, Craig! I'm not even sure what these hubcaps are from, but it will get some period correct ones I have here.
That will make a nice shop truck! UBT 4 LIFE!
Yes sir!

Yes sir!
Thanks Rob, Shop truck sounds good to me!! Thanks for sneak peak!,
Yes sir! Glad you tuned in.
Bone stock, straight 6 3 on the tree. Perfection
That’s why i like it too
Woo hoo!
Whooo hoooo!
Oh what a party I’d have with that........
You're gonna get your hands on it in some way. Don't worry! :)
That's one cool looking truck. Another great video 👍👍
Thanks, Shane!
Definitely gotta put some air ride on it so you can lay frame and eventually gotta pull the anemic straight 6 and three on the tree for an LS and 4l80E! Whatever you guys decide, I'm sure it'll be great!! Can't wait to see what is in store for it!!
Wheweeee! You're spending big money already. haha probably going with a little more tame 'on-a-budget' plan on this one.
UNITED BY TRUCKS it’s easy to do when it isn’t my own money. 😂😂😂 I can’t wait to see it when it is done and watch the videos in the process!!
One of my favorites buddy can't wait to see when you guys get done with this one
Sweet! Thanks for tuning in, Todd!
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS that truck is sweet brother and the guy seems honest about it too
Nice heavy chevy👍👍👍👍👍
Leave the stock motor in it, tune it up and see how good of gas mileage you can get with aftermarket parts on it. Big squarebody fan
I like this idea. Something about the straight 6 / 3OTT that has me sucked in.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Can I make a request? Keep the 6, update it. EFI? The 3 ott is outdated. Put a 5 speed in it. It would improve your driving experience. Maybe go fast parts. They are out there. The straight six is a dependable engine. Update it and it will run for ever.
@@johncooper9976 Love it
Loveeeee the truck💪🏼 really looking forward into getting one from 73-79
Thanks, man! They're cool for sure.
that's a good looking c10 robbie thanks for these kool videos brother
Thank you! Appreciate you watching.
Some people have all the luck in the world I would love to find something like that cheap hahaha
Right place, right time. Trust me, it doesn't always happen this way.
Nice man
Thanks!
Dang good find love video god bless
Thanks, Patty!
Absolutely my kind of truck! Now you got me thinkin!
It's hard not to on these, right?
Can't wait for this one too? I have a 79 Custom Deluxe SWB, inline 6, 3 spd on the column and am wanting to run 15" steelies with stock caps, and a 5/6 drop. This is naturally a wish list but I wanna see what you guys do so, keep on inspiring me with more great videos.
Heck yeah! That's awesome.
Congrats 🎉..UBT...🤘😎🔧
The emoji man! Knew you'd be here throwing support around. Appreciate ya!
I have a 1986 Silverado 305 700r4 in the same color that I purchase two months ago , but I when I was looking to buy a c10, I was looking for one just like that one with a straight six 3 on the tree but had no luck. Great find. love your videos.
Thanks, Bobby!
Sweet!
Dang Robbie you have found another sweet truck. You da man. 👍
This one found me smh
BAD ASS HOMIE ! love the truck can't wait to see what y'all do with it
Thanks, Billy!
I have the exact same truck, only a longbed. 76, buckskin, 6cyl, 3 speed.
Sweet! Hard to beat a good truck like these.
Dang man. Y'all keep finding gems.
They've been finding us lately. That said, this one has plenty of rust and definitely needs some work, but I ain't mad about it at all.
Just a little advice on the parking pawl of your transmission when you're towing put your emergency brake on good way to break the parking pawl of your transmission on the tow vehicle nice truck I have one myself restart it from frame-up good job guys enjoy the truck
so sweet and cool..just drop it and ready to go
Yes sir
I like the worn spot on the door where it’s been closed for decades.
Yes sir! A lot of character in this truck. Can't wait to get started on it.
Awesome addition to UBT!
Yes sir!
I had one exactly like that 6 cyl 3 on the tree .... years ago drove it daily than I let my brother drive it to a friends house and he freaking flipped it over totaled it ... sad day since than I’ve bought a couple more SWB c10’s but not like this one ! Nice find Robbie ... keep it simple bud static rims exhaust !
Oh, bummer! Definitely thinking the way you're thinking on it.
Nice truck
Thank you!
I'm 15 and I'm fixing up my great grandfather's 1973 c10 pickup longbed square body 3 on the tree and it's got a camed 243
Sweet! Stick with it.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS I love it so far but I did mean a camed 283 not 243 sorry lol
The exhaust leak was a factory option on these trucks I believe. hahaha
No doubt about it. Never fails.
i wish i can find some cool truck like this here in my home town but very hard to find in the world of salty snow north country! keep the good work UBT :o)
So true, but thanks for tuning in!
Perfection
Agreed!
That truck is awesome. I had a 73 almost the same way. Mine was 3ott 307 v8. It just had alot more rust than that one.
This one has its fair share, but it's all down low.
I'm a sucker for the "Pawpaw edition" squares! I also dig the color, that's the same color my K10 is. (profile pic)
Yes sir!
Hell yes man I say 15” on some white walls 5/7 drop fix up the OG drive train and call it good or let me buy it off y’all I’ll give it good home in Houston lol 😂
Heck yeah! I love how you guys are suggesting keeping it simple. I'm all over that.
That's exactly how I've got my 91 suburban on 15" Supremes 😍. Idk how to load a pic on here
Jason Miller dude what’s your IG ? I’ll love to check it out !
Albert I only have FB and UA-cam. You on FB?
Jason Miller yes sir Albert Molina
My favorite interior color, buckskin 🔲👀😍🔥👌🏼
Yup pretty pumped.
Those original short bed square bodies are getting hard to find, specially out here in Northern California
Up north in the rust belt of buffalo NY there not much left to them. So lucky to find one in great shape
Nice foundation, them trim rings, and ford hubcaps, different...
Haha they are already gone.
This seems to be a perfect home for that 327 engine you showed when you moved houses!
I’ve got a truck in mind for that, but good memory.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Well i just happened to watch that one yesterday so not that good LOL
Yes! I’m now searching craigslist...
You need a good square, Nick. :)
Yes I do. My wife grew up on a farm and keeps talking about all of the squares her dad had.
Super sweet I sold my 1st square to buy my current 82 Swb, red on red inline 250 th350 only power option is steering. Damn near rust free. Paid $1700
Sweet!
I've always liked those 3 on the trees & too bad they don't make them anymore. I don't see too many of those 1973-1987 year model Chevy fullsize pickups out on the roads anymore like I use to back in those days.
we're doing our best to keep them on the roads!
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS those inline 6s were good motors back in the day & I miss them too & does that truck have power steering & power brakes?
Maybe some 16/17. Static 4/6 drop clear up and made safe for the future truckn. Maybe doe some first step inline hope up tech stuff for the guy or girl just getting into the culture. Not everyone can dump 5K for wheels tires and a LSX and a bare bones drop. Start'em young. Get their first show under their belt...and all the tape to the lawn chair that goes with it. Killer start and a Economical shop truck. L8R
Completely agree!
Love that you save these trucks! And the videos but not a fan of lowering them I would keep them original for sure! But can't find them gems in Maine keep up the great videos!
Thanks, Steve! I know it's not for everyone, but this one actually may stay stock height and just get road worthy.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS nice! Hopefully it works out for guys great work!
To bad the hood is bent but it super cool that it has the original grill and I love the Chevrolet righting on the tailgate all the way across so cool and the round hole for the gas I believe1978 was the year for that
I have another hood that we'll paint match. And yup, '78 was last year for the gas cap.
Get at Chastain and get the ubt logo on the doors slam ot like 5/7 or so drop on some old dog dish 15s with white walls . Tune up,clutch, whatever else it needs and make it just that cool, simple, something to cruise to local shows with the booth stuff and go get parts for for teddy and the k5
Something similar to the 73 that you had in wimd episode a while back .
I love it! I've never been into door logos that much but seriously considering it. And yeah, Chastin would be my first call.
Keep it alive Robbie👍🍺
Working on it!
I received my bumper sticker the other day I put it on my Truck today
Awesome! Thanks for the support and for being a part of the UBT community.
Your Welcome
Another awesome truck find! Ls swap it but keep it a stick
haha everybody loves an LS. We'll probably keep it straight 6 and keep this one much more budget friendly.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS sounds good, can3 wait to see the k5 and philpot done
TRULY budget? Stock replacement tuneup, brake, and suspension rebuild parts from RockAuto, buy-3-get-one-free tires from the local chain joint, Rustoleum sprayed from a Harbor Freight gun, and drive the wheels off it. Not every truck has to be a goofy bigwheel with an LS, it's OK for them just to be trucks.
What if your paint job consists of just covering the bad spots with the all the free magnetic Harbor Freight flashlights accumulated over the years?... Asking for a friend
I completely agree. We will likely lower this one with some used drop parts we have around, get it tuned up and run it.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS No, dude. A truck being a truck never includes dropping it. You don't have to ruin everything you touch.
@@thenewBH I think you've found the wrong channel. I blatantly disagree.
she’s going to be a sweet truck when you’re finished..
..I would go with a 350 engine nicely built.. I would fix the few spots of rust...then I would give a 5/7 drop on 20 (f) 22 inch (r) inch tires.. go with #Raceline or #BilletSpecialties for the wheels.. I wouldn’t worry about the paint I would drive it like is!!!
Oh yeah! It's got some of the best original paint I've seen on a squarebody and the boy is so straight. Amazingly straight. Love your plan. I'm sure we'll incorporate some of it but likely going a little more budget friendly on the wheel and tire set-up.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS You guys need to build a big block truck, sometime down the road.
Cool video. That's a great truck. But man the monthly insurance on those vehicles.
Thanks! Go with Hagerty. Not too bad.
Yep Hagerty is the way to go.. I think for my 84 c10 with a 350ci it was like $230 for the year, so less than $20 a month
I would just patina that thing some more and put some beefy tires on it like your buddy from the tire shop!
Haha prob going with the slammed look
Straight 6 3 speed on the column I'd probably leave it that way!
I'd imagine that 3OTT would be a fun novelty for about a day then it's time for a th350 swap.
haha we shall see.
I don't know if you have a plan to get that kink out of the hood or not but you could take the hood off and bend it back straight and weld some type of metal square tubing or some type of metal channel the length of the hood to keep it straight
Actually considered it, but I have another hood that I will likely get paint matched and run some wamrods to keep from happening again.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS sounds like a plan 👍🏻
Nice catch , slammed white walls would look nice keep up the good videos ...
Can't go wrong with a 1976 Chevy pickup after year I was born I've always wanted one just keep it original might want to swap out that inline 6 put a LS motor in it though
I know that's right, but prob gonna hold off on the LS. Got plenty of those. haha
any plans for hoodies coming out for winter merch?
Yes, for sure. A little late on it bc it's just now gotten cool in the South. smh
I live in Ohio those rockers look good
haha I've seen worse for sure.
Nice addition, leave it stock or drop a 350
In it. Wish I had the money and luck with finds like that
Good plan!
Kool truck. Are you gonna keep the 6 and 3 speed?
For now, for sure. And thanks!
Throw a 6.0 in it
Probably gonna stay a little more budget friendly. We've got plenty of LS trucks around.
UNITED BY TRUCKS yea I’m looking for one to put in my future k10 build it will be on my channel sooner or later
Been looking for 2 months. I live on the east coast. All the ones I find are rotted out.
This one has plenty of rust, don't get me wrong. But it's straight and ready for some love for sure.
i got a 67 for sale john
The rust is a standard option ... I inherited a ‘79 and the truck has new body panels all around, but the cab has see through floors. I’m just gonna find another cab, have it refurbish it and replace it. Much easier than trying to tear it apart and fix it after a few other body repair attempts.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS the rust is kool i would drop it and put a clutch in it fix the exhaust and drive it
Jeremy Strickland how much?
Keep it a straight 6 those are hard to came by and make is a five speed. And leave Philpot alone
I like the straight 6 too. And will likely just keep three on tree. Budget friendly for sure.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Hell Yeah 👌👍
I got one just like this one , Mine is a 75.
Sweet! Hard to beat this color combo
Do you have an email where I can Send you pics of the work I’ve done to it ?
@@Jesus-mc2do sure. unitedbytrucks@gmail.com
Does any knows of a flip kit for 97 K1500?
I don’t offhand but I’d start with belltech
Would you say that the exhaust has patina?
Haha something like that
I'd like to see static drop with 20 or 22in rally's
There we go!
What is a reasonable price?
Not at liberty to disclose at this time. Sorry.
20” steelies w/ 4-6 drop
I like that!
static drop it like 5/7 20" speedways. fix clutch and exhaust leak and drive the shit out of it
Sounds like a good plan to me!
dude where do yall find all these trucks
If we don't find them, they find us.
To bad the 76 military trucks are long beds (there 5/4 tons) but both of them have there advantages if I get one in im gonna convert it to a dually
Awesome!
LS SWAP IT!
haha budget, mu friend, budget.
Nice little truck, typical hood buckle, I’d drive the shit out of it. 👍🏻
Yup. Got another hood for it and going to get it paint matched to match the awesome OG paint.
Shit yeah I dig the color.
keep it standard, maybe with a severe drop and put some vintage style 15" wheels on it, just to be different.
Sweet suggestion.
Put some nice wheels on it and lower it but keep body and engine stock
About ready to make this one happen!
Where is this truck now?
I am betting it's a m/s. If you put wide tires on it, you won't like it. No power steering and wide tires don't work well together. So you will need to update some things. I have manual steering and 70's series tires, it's not that fun to drive.
It has power steering actually.
Damn! Your lucky, wish I got that deal.
Seriously jealous, ain't nothing that clean here in the mid west.
It’s still has its fair share of rust
What did you pay for it?
Previous owner rather I don't disclose.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS DM me on IG. Just was curious if we got a similar deal. 77, 1500$
Send me them Ford hub cap
haha I've got a buddy that wants them
Straight body except hood
Yup
Everybody has a straight hood... Philpot’s hood roll is more aerodynamic, and provides additional engine bay cooling. You know the rule- if you pull off the original hood, you have to install a blower. Man code.
@@CF-rx7hx bahahaha i like that rule.
