This hero have short cd skills,stun chain, high damage, build-in spell vamp but having low pickrate made me confuse
Low pickrate because people haven't got the hang of it yet and when he was released, Karina (direct counter) was still in the meta
Because he slow af. Unlike the meta paquito and esme can do rotation and join war faster
Because he crispy like a potato chips
He might have good sustainability and good CC chain skills, yet he surprisingly easy to be taken down,
Counter his spell vamp? Easy! Anti-heal
Counter his cc? Easy! CC him back! Mage with slow CC are good enough.
Counter his high bar HP? Burst him down!
he's boring
fredrinn is definitely a hero that is confusing if you build him with Tank and Attack items.
Tank: you get big numbers of sustain, low CD, 3rd skill low CD, and big ult dmg bcuz ult is based on passive, but his 2nd and 3rd are extra physical so you need team to help you secure.
Attack(also semi tank): big dmg, able to use the extra physical attack of 2nd and 3rd, and ofc spammable, but you will die even before using ult bcuz of low HP and reliant of low HP passive, and 1st skill doing less than tank build.

The reason why Fredrinn is less picked than Esmeralda is because Esmeralda can both damage and self-heal while Fredrinn needs to attack to heal some lost HP.
Esmeralda needs to attack so that she can apply shield to his enemies and she would absorb it, might be wrong tho

I believe I commented that I switched to Wild Rift few months ago, I reinstalled MLBB cause I found a video about how shite Fredrinn is, and wanted to make more players start playing Fredrinn.
And here I am, pushing with my mates as a Faramis main lmao.
Edit: I still played Fredrinn, about 90-ish percent winrate in 30-ish matches which is alright, but I mostly played Faramis cause I already played him regularly even before the revamp.
Faramis is a cheatcode!! I also main mage and wanted to become top global cyclops, but here I am, pushing with faramis and voluntarily playing roam every game. 😂🤧
fredrinn is good where the enemies are full of skill reliant heroes such as esme although his biggest weakness are heroes that can burst him down within a few seconds.and plus fredrinn is pretty slow.even with his 2nd skill he is still slow as fuck since it has a long cooldown.and he pretty much sucks in the early game since he is pretty squishy.in late game he gets bursted down easily.

I’ve noticed that a lot of high level fredrinn use concussive blast instead of brave smite. Is it just for faster waveclear? Or does the shockwave also heal him? I don’t have time to test right now but it’s not what I usually see, interesting. I’m a fredrinn main so I might have to start using concussive blast
Both actually. I prefer using tenacity to last longer in teamfights, but yeah it's to clear waves quickly and to heal him too.
There is a UA-cam that says he is very flexible on emblem. You can install him with Fighter or Tank emblem, even Jungling emblem for quick farming.
Fredriin aside, that fany is so good
