Your activity centre is very well organised. Thank you for sharing. I will have to organise my own OCC items, to see what more of each item I have to buy, for my 2024 shoe boxes.
I completely understand! I'm still working on organizing all my stuff at home for my own boxes. I'm definitely ready for school supplies season to come because I'm low on a lot of that stuff.
Oh Annabeth, the Yahtzee, tic tac toe, and memory match games are awesome!! You are creating such quality items for your large packing party events! Yeah, I have noticed too that those decorative novelty pencils can easily “clog” up the electric sharpeners and they need to have the shavings emptied often. TFS! Awesome video!
Good morning! Dice are actually fine to pack. They are listed as an okay item on the Operation Christmas Child website. Now I do agree with you, I have heard that before but I think it's more of a personal preference. Definitely don't send if you're not comfortable 👍🥰
Thanks for sharing. You are so well organized. They all look like great items.❤ I do have dice for my older boy boxes but I think I will add the Yahtzee sheet and instructions, was there a reason that dice were questionable? Only asking because I didn’t know.
thank you so much! I think some people's concern is that they will be used for gambling and things like that. They are definitely fine to spend and if you look it up on Samaritan's purse website they say that they are okay. I think it's a personal preference. 👍
It's called Ottertex waterproof canvas. The wonderful woman who is in charge of all the sewing projects said she gets it from a website called fabricwholesaledirect .com
I love the matching game! Could you share where you got it from? I looked on Blessings in a shoebox and saw some matching games but I really like the one you used better.
Hey I actually made that matching game. I also just created a new Facebook group that's just called sending shoeboxes and on there I'm going to put some of my printables. At the moment the farm animal matching games is on there and you can download it.
So the game we use says a 3 ft circle which I believe equates to a 9-foot piece of yarn. But is that too much yarn I feel like going as low as 6 or 7 ft is good too.
Yes actually that's a great question. I've been asking this a couple times. We found that cutting through the paper after it's been laminated unseals it and it's no longer waterproof like we're hoping. We want these to last as long as possible so that's why we take the extra step to cut them first and then laminate.
@@sendingshoeboxes6090Thank you! So when you cut the laminated circles with scissors, they don't separate? I'm hoping to try this! Do you have a link for laminating sheets?
Wonderful to see that your church has really embraced this ministry. Nice prep and fun activities.
Thank you! Yes we definitely have a lot of support which is such a blessing.
Thanks for sharing your fantastic lineup of activities and great DIY choices. ❤
Thanks for watching Trish! It was a super fun workshop! 🥰

Thank you Val 🥰 I'm so excited about all the fun things we've been making lately. It's been a blast!!
They told me not to send dice but the yahtzee games look like a good idea

What is the name of the fabric you use for the waterproof bags that you make and where do you get it?

How long a piece of yarn for marbles ? Hadn't thought of that
I believe we did about 4 ft of yarn per bag
How long do you cut the yarn for marble games?

@sendingshoeboxes6090 Thank you! I'm a homeschool mom to a high schooler and should've know that lol!
Is there a reason you don't laminate the matching games and then punch just once?

@sendingshoeboxes6090 oh wait. Do you cut the laminating sheets with the round punch too and then.laminate?
