There's one thing I really miss about Armada's peach. He had THE cleanest, most consistent edgeguards in the game. Possibly even better than prime hbox.
hbox has better edgeguards simply by default because he plays puff and armada plays peach. However, armada has better everythinh else, was more dominant and consistent than hbox ever was, and is overall going to go down as the better player in this game. No disrespect to Hbox, he has established himself as the clear number 2 head and shoulders above everyone else, but just no one i think will ever match armada's records in the game

I look at it this way:
If M2K can compete solely in Melee doubles and some Ultimate over 9 months and still be good enough to take sets from multiple Top 10 players, I think the BOAT can still take names. All it takes is a little bit of time to de-rust and a drive to compete again.

I honestly think Armada could drop off the grid for five years, not playing, not keeping up with any new developments, then he could come back and get up to speed in at most a couple months. Realistically more like a few weeks if he was grinding it out

I awake once more in a cold sweat, in the middle of the night. Was it something I ate? Something must be on my mind, but I can't put my finger on it. Restless, I check the ranked Slippi EU Leaderboards. Slowly scanning through the tags and characters, I make it through the top 50. I feel sadness, emptiness. There are no Peach/Fox dual mains in the top 50 of the EU leaderboards. I go back to bed, my wife asks "What's wrong?", I reply "Nothing."
Maybe it was all just a nightmare.
Hes doing things with peach that he never did when competing. Down smash has always been a super utility but hes never used it as well as he is now.

Hey Armada, question here. Seeing the roster for EVO 2020 includes mvc2 (20th yesr aniversary) tournament of champions (a semi invite event). If Evo 2021 includes melee in the same fashion (melee's 20th birthday) and you get invited, would you step out of retirement and go??

Armada has had a decade of practice against Mango & Leffen the 2 best Fox's in melee history. Veteran Mindset, awareness, experience will always beat a young padawan no matter his tech skill level
Don't know about that last part. M2K surpassed Ken in one year after he started playing, while Ken had over 3 more years of experience on him

But just not as high octane juicy as Melee. Like switching from cocaine to Aspirin Complex. Leaves just enough of a taste in your addiction center to forever miss the real thing.

@@wittyjester I'm an ex top pro WoW player (2007-2010) and I compete in Smash on the side of my regular job. I came back to WoW after many years just to try it and it had its moments but it's not the same after pouring so many years into something at a top level. I can be good but I can't be the best anymore.
Everyone has their time. Armada had his. His legacy is done. There's a relief when you've moved on, even if there's always a side of you that will miss the glory days.
I see some of my rivals like Venruki from back then still compete and it's hard to watch because it brings up the past but it's good to have moved on. I'm guessing Armada feels the same. You make peace with it. He's still in the scene.

Niko James he streams almost every day and out of those streams plays doubles maybe once a week and singles maybe once a week. So it’s pretty often.

it feels like every fox player is literally insane in friendlies but in tournament nerves get them
Melees gotten more and more hype the last few months with the rise of zain and mango winning tournaments again but armada coming back to competing would no doubt start a new golden age for melee. I love having armada around just to comentate but armada in bracket is just pure bliss.
