In this video we go through the process of cloning a smart key to my Kia Sorento using the Xhorse VvDI mini Key Tool and a vvdi smart key. prox remote.

you can also do VVDI smart key copy under special function instead of transponder clone.. but thanks for the video, very useful info, glad to know it works the way you show as well

I had an issue copying a Nissan 46 chip using a different method I'll try this and see hope it works
Wow you actually taught me and my team something new haha, knew about this function but never used it, we never had any problems with hyundai/kias even though it's true that these cars can accept 2-3 keys total, but we usually do all key lost scenarios.
A shame this only works for 46 prox chips, very limited.
Sharing experiences and knowledge is what UA-cam is all about.
Now if you cannot get the password for programming a new key on kia and hyundai vehicles I believe this would be a valid option for key dulplication:). I want to try this on dodge keyless go also, I will post another video when I do.

@@JLsAutoSolution no aftermarket tool can do it (at least for smart), you'll have to use the OEM software and NASTIF if it's even possible, same with 2015+ Mercedes.
But now xhorse are releasing a new super chip that supports duplicating 2013+ Audi/VW bladed key chips (MQB), so at least you would be able to make a spare transponder key without remote.
that's really disappointing lol, but at least we can do bladed keys. another question km100 or t-ninja? debating on one or the other as both are on sale.

Hello@J'Lautoselection i have lost my only key to my 2012 Dodge Journey & i need some advice please? I just bought the Xtool mini & also a new Fobik (fob) + a transponder key to suit with 2× ID46 Chips. I keep seeing vids on YT about programming DJ's without original key but they go on about putting key into ignition but 2012 DJ is push start & PANIC button?? Spins me out 🤔 am i able to do the program of this new Fobik & Transponder key myself with the Xtool?? Or can you help me out with what to do next?? Thanks heaps hope you can reply..
Great video very easy to follow. I have a 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander North American model. The sniffer never captures data. I tried near the starter and all around the drivers side. Any clues?
Please explain better the problem, sniffer for what? chip duplication? Try connecting jumping cables to the car to increase coil strength, or with other duplication tools like Keydiy with or without sniffer extendor, key tool plus is the only xhorse product with a good sniffer. (Key tool Pro untested)

@@SpringvisualTk Thanks for the response. I will try with a battery charger attached. I wonder if you could upgrade the antenna? Worth a look. 🤔 I was wondering if there was some oddity blocking this process like encryption or passwords some such.
@@DanT10 As I mentioned, yes you can upgrade the antenna with KeyDIY X2, but not with the mini key tool

I have a few questions for ya. Do you have the OBD tool plugged in, or just the mini key tool? Does this make a clone, so then you can have 3 different keys (because it is the same as the one you cloned?)

hi, will the mini key tool program / clone a transponder and remote for a Hyundai Getz 2005? and do i have to buy the xhorse hyundai remote fob or will any xhourse remote fob work if generated or cloned? i am looking at buying the mini key tool. thanks
I myself am fairly new key programming. If its in the cloneable section then yes, if its not then no. You need to read the key and see if it is cloneable or not. If not you will need to purchase a xhorse Key with a super chip in order to create a chip then have the key programmed and cut, iF it is cloneable then Cut /clone and you are finished.
why did you stop the video without showing the back hatch work? I feel like it probably didn't work properly I have an issue with these keys a lot
I have a mini Cooper 2003 S and the key is ready to go soon I need to clone It have taken it apart several times and managed to fix the solder connect connection on the button but I know it's going to go soon. What else do I need for this one programmer work I know that I can remove that little grade chip from the original and move it over to the clone. If I don't need to do that then I will just purchase another remote and copy it but will this unit copy for mini Cooper, Mercedes BMW, and so forth what is it limitations? Also have a Nissan Murano one of the keys works the other one is dead it got washed in the washing machine. I can clone the original it's working..
Does this programmer require a monthly membership or is this a yearly fee?

Hey I have another question I have a customer who Nissan Juke smart key was damaged by her dog can I still copy the remote if the transponder alone is still working.
If the transponder is working but the key is not I dont see why not, but the nissan tends to program the start and keyless entry and the same time. there might be a conflict.
Would this work on a Ford Focus MK2 push start? Thanks
Sorry I do not know, with ford i would program the key as intended by the manufacturer, performed the 10 minute wait and make sure you have a proper key.

After Hyundai smart key cloning no one button on the fob does not works, engine start ok
I lost my original smart key fob. I bought my kia sorento used so i don't know the key code. can this tool reprogram a new smart key without the original key fob?
This tool cannot program you need a programmer for that. it can help get the pin code.

No, no tokens needed.

I just reprogrammed, did not do anything special.

no. you get tokens and those are used for calculations. but you need to program remotes and do immo operations inorder to get tokens
I haven't had to buy tokens since I bought mine a year ago
I tried it on a Nissan Micra but proximity didn't work only the buttons and it started the car

yes, it did for me, but ive heard that there issues witht he locks not working afterwards.
so the whole point of this was because the generated xhorse key doesnt/wouldnt fit in the programing slot? is that what i think you are trying to explain? I applaud your efforts, but theres too many extra steps. Xhorse just says to take the pcb out their key and push it into the slot and program as normal. Like i said i do applaud your efforts, but this method will only work really for kia's etc but theres a shit ton more of smart keys you can generate. Taking the pcb out isnt that hard. lotta times, you dont even need to take it apart. Just push in the slot doors, and set the entire key on the top of the slot. also now a days, most cars with slots, arent even doing slots anymore. They are doing mostly "Tray" or "indent" spaces.
But on the other hand while doing the above procedure you don't have to plug in any obd equipment though! So in some cases it's easier to sniff the data and make a clone other then bother programming the second key into the car directly. The only thing I didn't grasp is would both the original and the clone be working properly, or would they be conflicting somehow?
Don't you know that KIAs don't need keys so kids are stealing them with phone charging cables? Also how did you get this Xhorse tool to work?
lol... only in the USA, in canada they all have immobilizers, what do you get it to work?
If you clone a remote only one will work,due to rolling code,if you want the original to work,start car with original,then the cloned key will not work.

Im pretty sure you programmed the xhores remote through obd. After cloning the original key, the xhorse remote lock unlock will work once then after that it wont. You cant copy a rolling codes. Stop trolling people.
You do program through obd, Now if you would see my other videos you would have noticed that iam still pretty new to key programming and I am learning everyday. so far my remote has yet to fail and it still unlocks and locks the doors, and starts my vehicle.
I will look into the rolling codes, I know of the frequency range but have yet to find any literature about rolling codes. Are these codes that are stored in the remote chip and transferred to the module(BCM/SJB ect.) so it is able to distinguish the vehicles key from others.

Hi mate, I have a Mitsubishi Lancer Smart key, I only have one key at the moment. Will this tool essentially allow me to clone my original Mitsubishi key onto an Xhorse blank key to allow me to have 2 fully functional keys for my vehicle?
generate a smart key with horse, then program it.
So that should work?
