My biggest worry is his lack of couture experience. He might end up like Kim Jones at Fendi. I am a big fan of his, but there are some fundamentals that don’t seem to match.
He was not someone who I thought they would have picked as well but as a Chanel buyer I’m excited to see some changes hopefully for the better. I hope he allows himself to be more playful & girly because most Chanel customers enjoy the girly aspects of the brand. I do hope it’s not a mistake like Raf Simmons’ tenure at Dior.
Was hoping it would be Galliano--someone more similar to the over the top nature of Karl. But, now it's all about $$ and sellable pieces so I guess it makes sense to go in this direction. I haven't been interested in Chanel for a long while either and not sure this pick will change that but am open to seeing how it goes. I really hope he insists on bringing up Chanel's quality up to the standards of Bottega's bags.
Shocked but not surprised. Loved his work at Bottega and I’m excited to see him reinvent the house of Chanel. What a loss for Bottega though, hopefully their new designer will be able to keep the momentum.
10 collection a year that burn out work load. he is good but not superman. wait and see . I think he style is to conception and experimental for Chanel. My wife hate his looks not because his different idea but the way he presented it at Bottege and fashion did not click.

He designed Margiela's Couture collections from 2011-2014. He should be fine.
I came straight here when I heard!!

the check mustve been big
I am so excited about this hire. Chanel fashion has been so boring. This guy has an amazing taste and talent based on your video.
This will not appeal to the Chanel customer of the past but we need to look forward
No, No, No!!! 😢😢😢

I don't think it will be excellent
Since we're not paying his salary, I say give him a go and comment further once his work is shown. Always takes a while to settle in.... Huge job and shoes to fill. Karl's, I mean 😉©️♥️©️
I’m glad it’s not Marc Jacobs
Like really really glad 😊
Do y'all think Miss Miranda Priestly herself helped in this? She's a Chanel girlie for so long maybe she corroborated this whole thing.
Wow he is taking very tricky role at young age.it might make or break his legacy 😳🙏❤️
I think fashion has demonstrated that you can get away with everything when you're a man, and then get promoted
Boring
