- Overnight UL backpacking trip to Lake Blanche in the Twin Peaks Wilderness! 8 miles out and back, 2713 in elevation gain including fishing Blanche, Lillian, and Florence. Great backpacking trip with just the basics and a desire to adventure! Twin Peaks Wilderness was established in 1984 and ranges in elevation from 5,000 feet to 11,330 which is the summit of Broads Fork Peak. Come along as I head into one of the gems of the Wasatch Range!

Thank you! Lake Blanche is one of the best hikes in all the Wasatch! I had so much fun! This hike does 2713 in elevation gain so good training hike for my long distance trip next week! I love hiking early mornings when a forest is just waking up! My usual weight with food and camera is 24-28 lbs so 18 felt like a day pack. Thank you so much for watching! One of my more favorite hikes. One time I hiked up past Lake Blanche, up the rather steep canyon behind it towards Mount Superior and Monte Cristo, but not that far. Lots of mosquitoes and water up that way (creek, bog and little ponds), one of the most massive trees I've ever seen as well.

What a great getaway! I cant do this with the dogs due to watershed. How where the bugs? I bet not as bad as the Uintas.
Thanks Jason! This was a training hike for the Ruby Crest Trail that I just finished today! 🥾⛰️🎣🏕️ The bugs were pretty bad in the evening, but not as bad as the Uintas this year. I will be happy when they calm down when fall shows up.
