I can't believe it! One of the best-selling Chinese novels-and one of my absolute favorites-is finally getting an animation soon!
The story revolves around the struggle for power among gods and supernatural beings, using humans as mere pawns. It’s a dark fantasy filled with the vibes of Sherlock Holmes, Lovecraft, and SCP Foundation. If you're into grim, heavy narratives packed with deception, mind games, and layered schemes upon schemes, you’re going to love this.
And the novel? With over 3,000 chapters across Parts 1 and 2, I literally spent my entire holiday binge-reading it!

Hey ! if you're interested in the show just know that unfortunately due to its nature and a few stupid fans there is a TON of spoilers out there. Do not look up anything about it online and be careful reading comments on this video (including mine). I will try to give you abit more info on the show while keeping it vague and only saying things that would be shown in the first episodes of the anime so as to no spoil you. If you wish to go in blind, do not read the rest of this comment.
Lord of The Mysteries is one of the best webnovel ever written and even got a spot in the National Library of China, the author Cuttlefish has been propelled to the status of a star due to it's popularity. The donghua(chinese version of anime) has been confirmed to have 5 seasons in the works with every episode lasting 40 minutes WITHOUT opening and ending which would translate to half of the entire book as the first season covers 213 chapters(vol.1) out of 1430(vol.8). The author is part of the production team and everyone working on it is a fan, they've been on it since 2019 and have scrapped multiple versions to have the best version possible. Tencent (the richest company in China and one of the richest in the world) directly funds the show and have allocated more funds multiple times on the request of the production team. Aside from this, the studio responsible for the animation has always put out japanese dubs for their works relatively quickly and a recent collab with the National Library of England might hint to a possible english dub or at least a heavy interest in the oversea market.
Now onto the show itself: it has the best power system in all of fiction I've ever heard of, HxH's nen is child's play next to it. The world-building is on the level of One Piece if not better to the point where every country got it's own currency and social structure. 7 Orthodox Gods rule the world through their respective churches to the point where the royal family needs the Church's approval to get crowned. Multiple Evil Gods and their cults sow discord throughout the lands and are held down by the Church's special units, one of them being the Church of the Evernight Godess' Nighthawks that our main character Klein ends up joining. The power system is unique in the way that there are multiple paths and only one of them can be chosen before being walked on until the end, moreover, the more powerful you get the more insane you become. 40% of the Nighthawks cases are getting rid of their past teammates that became a monster, you cannot trust anyone as they could lose control and kill you the next moment.
Our main character is a Chinese man from our world that wakes up in a corpse that just shot himself. His goal is getting back home at all cost and understand what happened to him.
His cheat is a special place where he can pull in people's soul and act as an ancient god to swindle them out of knowledge and objects, the people he choose become the side cast and we get their point of view pretty often. That and being able to read the secret diary of another transmigrator that came into this world 200 years earlier which gives him bits and pieces of information about the world and it's darkest secrets.

I’ve been working my way through the web novel after the 2nd trailer dropped back in August. I’m currently at volume 2, chapter 406. I’ve been reading slower than a lot of others. Most people read 20+ chapters a day, but I read around 5 a day, sometimes more. I take a lot of breaks.
Season 1 will cover all of volume 1, which is the first 213 chapters. They take around 10-15 minutes for each chapter to read.
Volume 1 was amazing! Apparently, volume 1 pales in comparison to the rest of the story. Each volume ends in an amazing way according to those who read the whole story. For me, Volume 1 ended in an amazing and sad way. Don’t get spoiled.
With the level of animation shown in the trailers, I can’t wait to see volume 1 animated. Do not look up any analysis videos about the trailers. The trailers show way more than you’d think.
