During the late stages of the fight at Isandlwana, a large force of Zulu Warriors broke away and headed towards the garrison at Rorke's Drift. The fight began around 4:30 PM and raged for half a day. The outnumbered British Force managed to stand its ground, even though this would have little effect on the war that would carry on for several months.
