I put a couple hundred thousand miles touring before cruise controls were available. Thank God I had a device called Twist Assist. I don’t think they’re making them anymore, but I think I still have a brand new one laying around somewhere. They were fantastic.
@@SIERRA-dx9wm The Twist Assist gave you a totally neutral friction throttle, unlike the ones they used to have on Harleys or the after market ones they sell now.
Hey Sandy... I'm very happy you got your cruise control working again! Wow... your Lowrider ST is looking pretty nice with the new lights and all!!! Congratulations!!! John...
Brother, what a sik video. I'm so glad you shared this video. It was great to see Mike assist with the cruise control issue. What a great guy at Torque Custom Cycles
I am presuming since the part is so hard to come by that this is a known problem with the CC module? I guess I am with you Sandy when it comes to upgrades. I have a ‘20 Ultra and immediately changed out the lighter socket with a marine grade usb plug. Don’t even get me started with my truck, I got a sun shade because the manufacturer did not make a windshield to withstand the heat of the sun. People even upgrade crocs with tiny little trinkets they push through the holes. I’m sure that while those folks are making comments about all the upgrades you want to do to your bike, are sitting around bedazzling their jeans. 😎✌️
Glad you got it fixed my friend and happy you removed that hair😂😂😂😂😂 you crack me up!!! A thought , get the derby screws in black you can get a better grade screw while you’re at it.
Mr. Shift; Sandy if I may. Loved you travel vlog on the 8K plus travel. I remember watching one vlog where you went from 6.5 pullbacks to an 8. Do you think that during that process you may have damaged the Cruise Control Mechanism? Asking out of curiosity. Love you content and appreciate what you do.🥂
So, after you pay $24K OTD for the bike, you need $600 for risers, $1200 for better saddle bags, $700 for better seat... etc, etc... So you spend all your paycheck for parts every other week? Doesn't sound right... Something doesn't add up here. Looks like they take you for a milk cow for themselves. I dunno if Harley gets kick backs from them or not, but it's not right thing to do, leaving so many imperfections on the bike, so people have to spend a fortune fixing it. For example Honda puts cruse control in their $10K bikes included. I dunno... hate to be taking for sucker...
Nobody needs different risers, different (not better) saddlebags, different seat. HD provides the bike trimmed out to a baseline. Wha risers work for you may not work for the next person, same for the bags, seat, windshield height, etc. We all have choices. You don't like the brand or the bike, then vote with your hard earned dollars.
I agree.I bought a new bike in 2020,Chieftain Darkhorse horse.Handlebars are fine, seat is comfy, footboards are just fine.Peopke with more money than brains get their pants pulled down.
Pretty sure this isn’t just a “motorcycle” thing. Most people with a desire for enhanced style / performance/ functionality wouldn’t leave builder grade finishes in their house either. There’s plenty of design focused magazines and home improvement companies that cater to these desires and needs. We recently redid the landscaping at our house. We could have left all the builder grade plants, but we had something different in mind. So we spend money to get what we want. Most (but certainly not all) of us don’t spend what we can’t afford.
Just like a Rolls Royce .. Harley Davidson ain’t for everybody. And majority folks buy them because they can modify them to anything you want. Not everybody can afford them, but that does not mean they are a bad bikes. We are all at different stages in our life. Some have disposable income some don’t.
Buy a Harley - spend every other paycheck to make your bike right. Buy an Indian - spend not much at all. Manufacturer took care of you. Conclusion: People who said they spend money to make Harley "their own" are fooling themselves. They're replacing badly designed parts with the good parts, it's that simple. It's a manufacturer's job to make bike an exceptional, not poor Joe's spending his family tiny budget for fixing manufacturer's FU gesture...

I have one in box with parts
Just tighten friction lock enough to hold speed on flats
Good enough

Hey what brand of helmet are you wearing?
Curious what helmet you are wearing in this video, as it appears to have a pretty low profile.
I notice pilots really like cruise control / auto pilot.
True 😀

It was broken so it had to be replaced
