- I really love the first part. Thinking about leaving for church and in the meantime some Norsemen wait outside the village for the bell to ring.

I love Flokie in this scene, everyone else is looking for loot and he’s just messing with the people the whole time!

I think he must be the reincarnation of Loki
Loki was a troll 😂
It's the smile Ragnar gets from watching him for me.

Ragnar in his mind: it doesn’t matter who we are
This was the OG Viking squad. Irreplaceable
Strongly agree😢😢😢

I like how Rollo shows a sense of respect to the elderly here. In a sense it’s nice to see him atleast give him water ya know. Yes he takes the gold but at the same time he can’t help but pity the old man.

The most unrealistic scene in Vikings, yes Lagertha was a great and brave warrior, but irl she was a savage too, she would not have batted an eye over a saxon woman being raped
Violence is necessary in war and conquest rape is not. And they were there to plunder not waste time assaulting women.
@@killerqueen4411 But to say that Lagertha "the real one" would kill one of her own to defend the honor of a saxon woman, it just sounds so far fetched, don't you agree?
@@majed8192 Rollo had gotten into an altercation with him prior to this as he was eyeing Lagertha in an unpleasant way. Saying that he didnt trust him and he's as good as dead if he proves himself untrustworthy. Which was valid as he acting as a spy for the Earl. So I imagine Lagertha didnt trust him either and was looking for an opportunity to get into an altercation with him. I think her commanding him to stop was a test of his obedience which he failed. On the other hand just because someone is a warrior doesn't mean they have to condone rape. Even if it is an enemy everyone has a moral compass. In this same raid Rollo spared a sick old man in his bed he even gave him water. Perhaps she doesn't agree with and want to witness a woman being raped. Which isn't a stretch considering two men had attempted to rape her in a previous episode. Plunderings main purpose was to acquire wealth and they would want to get in and out as fast as possible to avoid further conflict. Wasting time on senseless brutality detracts from the goal.
You obviously don't understand women then.
@@brandonw2734 I don't, but I know facts, facts of many rape crimes some times domestic, that were committed or covered up by women, some times the woman being a mother covering up for a father abusing his children..etc
Most savage scene, the first raid shocked me,this one was like children taking candy from a new born
Iam indian. Water is the need for life. Even for ur enemy u should give them water. Even if u dont give food or feed someone we cant deny water for someone. You would think that they would try to take them. Vikings often tried to take as much livestock as they could.
dude, this is cool
This actually fairly accurately describes what a vikingr does. They'll kill the warriors, but they aren't cruel and the have laws. Giving the old man water before taking his jug away was VERY on brand for their culture, their belief was it was so difficult to get to that point that it's worthy of respect
Why did Ragnar take the blame for Lagertha killng Knut? Was he just protecting her from the Earl or was it something more?

Cnut in real life was a highly respected and well loved king. It was his son that was a douche.
Yeah, they took a lot of liberties with the actual history. Einar Selvik killed it with the soundtrack though.
There many people back in their days has the same name only the difference is their last name has dotir or son. The Canute youre trying to mention is in the Vikings Valhalla which is the next series after 100 years of ragnar and ivar’s time

In this version Knut manages to rape Saxon woman and even to kill her while fighting with Lagerha. Is this uncensored version of Vikings? How many more uncensored versions are there?
None, not even the show did a censored version
I'm guessing you are from the US?
As far as I know in the USA alot of nude scenes, action and sex/rape scenes cut or altered. This was because of different rule about what can be shown on TV and time constraints in the US for each episode.
There are quite alot of scenes changed but you might want to see the full version of Ragnar in the cage when he is talking to the Seer.
I don't think I've ever seen a censored version of this and I live in the states. Maybe when History Channel airs it, they censor the gore a bit...? Just a guess. 🤷🏻♀️
*KNUT IS MY HERO*
@@KimM13744 where can I find uncensored uncut version
In the early decades, Vikings were essentially cowards for the most part. They avoided attacking strongholds. When they ended up meeting professional armies led by competent commanders, they tended to lose. Beating up helpless civilians and clergy isn't really very impressive.

It does not seem reasonable that Ragnar's men would let Knut out of their sight.
Most of the time if people did not resist, the Vikings just behaved like the guys in the comic strip Hagar the Horrible. They were primarily motivated by loot and valuables. Imagine how the history of England would be different if Harold Godwinson had been able to settle a peace treaty with Harald Hardrada and the allied forces fought the Normans at Hastings together, in full strength. The remnants of Hardrada's army did join Godwinson at Hastings but only after so much of both sides had been bled out fighting each other earlier in the year and they could not withstand the onslaught by William the Conqueror's fresh and professional troops.
Rollo changes more than anyone.

I never got why rollo was "nice" to the old man. I always thought it was out of character. Rollo did a lot of things that were the polar opposite of nice and to people that were minding their own business none the less.
If you follow Christ you will never be thirsty again......Maybe it was to foretell Rollo's conversion to Christianity.

Ov all the women imagine trying that with lagertha CRAZY cool Ghirl hh

Peak show. But I must say to me it made no sense that Lagertha would go so far for an English woman who they came to raid. I mean it was normal for Vikings to rape the women they encountered on raids. It just felt kinda unrealistic. Athough I like how it served the plot of course. But in reality I do not think a Viking woman would have cared that an English woman was getting raped
Not really, there where miltary leaders who where men inculding Vikings who killed their own men for raping enemy women .
Even in the rape of Berlin there were red army commanders excuted their own men for rape
I have similar thoughts. It was nice to see Lagertha try to help. Just like Rollo being kind to that old man when he didn’t have to be. I don’t know how accurate any of it is but it’s nice for the plot and the characters.
I'm quite bad with recognizing faces, but wasn't it because she was raped by het husband's brother Rollo right before they got on the boat? She knows what it's liked to be raped and tried to spare the English woman from it all
Yea it did seem like a modern sensibility. If you read "eaters of the dead" by michael crighton, theres a lot in there from ibn fadlans account of travelling with the volga vikings and thats where we get a lot of our viking information. The women wouldnt have even had the same mindset about this activity as modern people do. It would have simply been something you see regularly. Lagertha probably would have walked right past them and stole the silverware.
It is important to remember that this is a representation of an extinct culture which may or may not be accurate. For entertainment only.....

Knut deserved that he was gonna to hurt her right after he had hurt that woman.
To be perfectly balanced, rapes is a common part of raids. Lagertha starts a pointless brawl over some saxon woman who was going to be raped ten times until the band was done.
She irresponsibly starts a squabble with Earl Haraldsson's agent in their expedition and starts the chain of events that will lead their house to be destroyed and her husband to risk it all to survive.
