Thank you so much for signing! My fiance was so happy he nearly cried because he could easily watch flosstube with me. He only stitches a little, but he really likes flosstube because it's relaxing. He's used to lip reading but CCs make life way easier so thank you for reminding everyone.
I watch your videos, but to night was such a pleasure to see your love for the hearing impaired community. I am now eighty years young, but years ago I was certified by the state of California and did the signing in a High School. This video brought a smile and a tear, memories. You could not have been more perfect, great expression. As for Cross stitch I am new, I have been first a Mother then a weaver, spinner, knitter, painter, quilter, crochet, play five instruments, and consume books. This is what a long life awards you , pure joy. I will be happy with all you choose to share. God Bless
I put down my stitching to enjoy your facial expressions as you signed. I really love the nuances people give with nonverbal communication and applaud the extra time I'm sure all this took to put together! (:
I think you are absolutely amazing to sign a Flosstube. I learnt to sign BSL when I was a teenager, I have no hearing loss, but it has been useful over the years. You are like a breath of fresh air, and your honesty in your Flosstubes is refreshing. Brilliant! I know I’m 4 yrs behind, I will binge watch the rest of your FT to catch up. Take care from across the pond.
Bless you for taking the time to sign your videos. Bless your husband for going the extra mile to find you a Christmas present. Always enjoy watching you.
❤️❤️❤️ I love that you signed your video. The flosses that you’re using for TP are beautiful choices. It was great catching up with you...have a great week!
A tutorial on choosing your fabric and color changes for your projects as well as finishes. Really enjoyed your signing. Lovely way to include more folks to the world of stitching that we love. Blessings to you and your family.
How thoughtful and inclusive that you signed! 😍 For content, I always love new finishing ideas. I appreciate book recommendations, flosstube recommendations, new designers... Thanks!
I LOVE that you signed this flosstube. I am not deaf but I think you made us all think about something we didn't think about before...that of being a deaf person in a hearing UA-cam world. Not the first time you've made me think. I now put more people of color in my stitching after your observations about the lack of people of color in many designs. I would love to see a flosstube on how to make odd-shaped smalls and how to make them nice and plump. I just made some hearts for February and they are a bit sharp and pointy. Thanks for all that you do. Can't wait to see your market releases.
I loved that you signed this video, amazing and thank you for recognizing there are people who need this. Love the Long Dog Sampler. I struggle with changing colors in patterns. I have one now that I tried 3 different linens and the main color is light and it just doesn’t look right on anything. So do you keep trying to find the right linen or change the floss? Any finishing tips, ideas or techniques. Basic supplies for finishing. I have a Biscornu ready to put together but struggling. Again thank you for wanting to add this to your videos.
I took ASL in college a million years ago and it was lovely to see it again. I also love how much your personality comes through whether you sign or speak. I had to laugh so hard. My fiance doesn't understand cross stitch and while he appreciates the time it takes and the finished products, he doesn't care. So, I'm in my office watching your video and he heard about your hubby getting you Templar Prophecy. He felt moved to say "I can't do that! You don't do flosstube." Well, needless to say, he now has several of my cross stitch ladies' contact information so he can plan surprise cross-stitch presents. So! Thank you!
I enjoyed watching you sign. I worked in a nursing home before retiring. We had a deaf resident whom I loved. She taught me signs but she also read lips. You brought back many good memories of her. Thank you. I love your patterns and tutorials.
I’m glad you use the closed caption as I am hard of hearing and I don’t always put my hearing aids in when I watch floss tube. That is great that you know how to sign and are able to include more stitchers in the community. Love your videos!
Also, I completely disappeared from UA-cam for quite a while (shame on my stitchy bug disappearing) so this is totally late but I just love that you did an ASL video because of ME
Thank you for having both the skills and the heart to sign on floss tube! Anything done to help communication and being inclusive for people with deafness or hearing loss is great.
My friend in high school is an interpreter for the deaf. She used to go to church with me and she would watch the interpreter for the deaf during the service. She started hanging out at places where the deaf would gather and try to speak with them. In that way she learned signing. Last I heard she worked for the Oregon state school system interpreting for the deaf. I bought a Long Dog Sampler charted pattern as well, "Pandemic". Have you talked to Jools Lane, the designer? She is so nice. Lovely woman. So friendly. Well, she suggested that one hank of the Silks4you will be plenty for that pattern. Gotta make up my mind the best color to enhance that gorgeous buttery creamy color of 25ct I bought. Thanks for posting!!!
This is so huge! You've made a monumental move in posting an ASL video and it was incredible to watch. You must be so proud to have accomplished learning sign language. I've always been so happy with how inclusive this community is but you've taken it a step further and that's just incredible. As far as video ideas, I would love to see if there's a specific method to stitching with variegated flosses, like the silk you showed for your Templar Prophecy. I'll be using my first hand-dyed threads soon and I'm not sure if there's a right or a wrong way to stitch with it to get the most out of the variegation (i.e., stitching in columns or rows).
So glad you signed. I can't sign but I can read most of what is being said. Your husband did goooood! Mine just says to order what I want and gives me a dollar amount. We are on a fixed income. I worked in a craft shop before we retired and ispent my check on my stitching. Patterns, fabric, threads etc. I love having a needle and thread in my hands. So glad you are back more regularly. Enjoy you .
Thank you for signing the show. A good reminder of those who deal with hearing loss on a daily basis! So you have a sweet husband...beautiful start on a gorgeous design. I am back to cross stitch with such a passion... I had resisted it for quite some time. Totally changed since the 80s...so any/all info would be appreciated! Thank you again...
This is brilliant!! When I was a little girl in Indiana, I had a neighbor my age who was deaf. She taught me how to sign some things so that we could communicate when we played. And then in my young adult life, I had a deaf co-worker who I ate lunch with every day. I learned so much from her in many ways, including more signing. However, I haven't signed in so long, I feel like I've forgotten everything. This video is inspiring! I admired you before, but this just bumped my opinion of you up several notches. I hope you had a fabulous time at market. Can't wait to hear all about it. 💜
I so love that you signed you video! That was a great public service to bring awareness to others of the importance of closed captioning. That was a really nice show of LOVE from your husband to give you a gift you would LOVE even if he has no interest. They sometimes do surprise us! LOL!
You are a brave girl and a trailblazer with this signing. I loved it. Your expressions are priceless. Looking forward to your new charts. I would like to see finishing videos, especially little pillows. I love all Lady Dot trims!
Hi! I think it’s awesome that you signed this episode! Love your new start! Glad to hear upcoming market is energizing you! A few moments with sun on your face would help too I’m sure. I’m very grateful for your tutorials, so I’d love to see more of that. I’d be interested to know how pick out dmc threads if the original called for threads are overdyed. Take good care 😘❤️ Rebecca
I love that you signed this video. I don’t follow ASL but was mesmerized. My granddaughter is taking ASL as her college language class as she is studying psychology. I can’t wait to have her watch your video. I am currently stitching Emily’s House and loving every stitch. ❤️
I miss taking sign language classes and going to ASL nights in college. This helped me learn some new signs. You did great. I love all your stitching. That LDS is beautiful and the silk you chose has great colors.
I have had hearing problems since I was little girl and yet I never give a second thought to those who can’t hear at all and what they are missing on flosstube. So it is a beautiful thing to see you take the time to sign a video and be as inclusive as possible. Thank you for being you.
Thank you for being inclusive!!!!! I am so touched by your thoughtfulness. I am a nurse and I encounter so many different kinds of people and I see how some forms of social media are very limited for people with disabilities.
I love your videos! How wonderful for you to share your ASL with the cross stitch community. There's nothing particular I would like to see other than what your doing....keep it up! Can't wait to see your new releases!
I loved your video, Stephanie! Thank you for sharing your beautiful stitching. I’m looking forward to seeing what you will be releasing in Nashville. Exciting time of the year for all of us in the cross stitch world.😀
this popped up in my recommended section here on youtube, I saw ASL and was hopeful it was about sign language but thought surely not. Yet, here you are signing. Thank you Stephanie, I am currently learning sign language. I am hearing impaired and really appreciate what you did here and for your comments about the need for captioning in videos. It is much appreciated. I do get a kick sometimes at the way youtube captions things (never the same word for aida lol, and its never spelled properly). However, i also really appreciate not missing anything or feeling like i have to make do. I always get said if a video I want to watch doesn't have captioning.
Wow! I couldn't take my eyes off you, so I got no stitching done! You were so expressive that it was fascinating! Last year I stitched LDS The Pilgrim with Silks4you and a bit of a complimentary color. Yours looks SUPER. That top border is gorgeous!
How wonderful that you would do a whole video signing. I think it's an awesome way to communicate. Can't wait to see what you'll be releasing come March!
I joined your FB group, so excited. You did an especially great video for all of our non hearing Stitchers, people, etc. Thank you for all you do for this wonderful community.
I think it’s great that you signed the video and thus made it accessible to more people! Just joined your Facebook group and can’t wait to see your new designs!
Love that you signed your video!! I was going to stitch along to your video, but found myself stopping to watch you sign. :) I started that Long Dog chart last year and love it. Your floss choice is gorgeous.
I would like to learn more about finishing samplers. Looking forward to seeing new releases. Thank you for all your work. I really enjoy your videos. The content I would like to see is your fabrics and patterns and where you get them. Reading the bible to your children is a great way to start a day.
Steph, this was an awesome video! I loved the signing; it's something I have been interested in doing for years. Keep on keeping on! You are a very talented lady! The fact that you freely share your love for the Lord is a real blessing to me!
It is absolutely amazing that you did this video in ASL. 💖💖💖 Wonderful progress! I'm upset about the distinct lack of snow here this Winter. Lindy Stitchers is an amazing group! So happy you made it. I would love to see some more finishing (not) tutorials from you. Your lacing video was very helpful! So excited for Market and seeing all the new releases! Thanks for being an all around awesome human. 💖💖💖
Stephanie - I really enjoyed your video in ASL. I am hearing but I appreciate why you did it. I've been feeling a little down & out thanks to the weather also. Spring is just around the corner and that's what keeps me going. Patricia
I’m impressed with your signing skills. So thoughtful of you to do that. I’m a huge fan of Lady Dot. I would like to learn more a about how to stitch full coverage pieces.
Stephanie, I was marveling over your ability to sign. I am amazed as well as made aware of what the hearing impaired miss out on while trying to watch all of the wonderful floss tube people with out the aide of closed captioning. Hooray for you. I would like to see clear directions , up close, how to count spaces between motifs or letters when the space is great. I have all the things to magnify and visually can see the holes but counting the linen or even weave counting confuses me. Now, are you confused? 😂
I just wanted to throw out a little advice from the deaf community, most of us prefer to be called deaf instead of hearing impaired because that term implies that we're something to be fixed? I don't know, but I really prefer being referred to as a deaf person :)
I really loved the signing! I’d love to see tutorials for making different finishes. Drums, biscournu, book sleeves, box covers etc. I really like your book reviews and journal discussions.
Finishing with your fancy trims would be tutorials that I would like to see. Great signing. Just joined your Facebook group. Your LDS piece is beautiful! Thanks for sharing and happy stitching!
Wow -- it's so cool that you signed through this whole video. It's cool that you know HOW to sign through this whole video! I live in the same town as the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind and let me tell you, this would have been a useful skill for me to have more than once. As for things I'd like to see, I would love to be able to go to one place to learn about how to do specialty stitches. Even if I didn't need to learn that particular stitch at that time, I would still watch every video in the series so I could get comfortable for when I needed it.
Stephanie, I think it was wonderful that you signed! I am not hearing impaired but have other disabilities and understand that not everyone realizes that some things are not so easy for everyone. So I appreciate that you took the time to recognize that. Also, I think that reading the Bible with your children every morning is setting a wonderful example. You are a good mom, a good person and although I have watched all of your videos, I usually do not comment but enjoy them thoroughly. I’m going over to your shop now but have one question I may have missed the answer to. Where does the name “Lindy stitches” come from? xo tina
It was great to see you use your signing ability. I hope that you will continue to talk about everything on your channel as I don't have a facebook account and I enjoy your designs. What a wonderful gift from your husband! Your choice for fabric and floss are beautiful. Knight's Templar is such an interesting pattern. I'd like to see you talk about how to choose fabric for what you're stitching. I know different colors can really change the look of the design and I have a hard time with that. I'm so excited for you going to the Nashville market! Happy stitching!
You are the bomb and I admire you so much - I love that you signed this video! My husband has the same reaction to craft stores as yours - he had to go a lot as a little boy with his mom which was so boring for a little kid so he says they give him PTSD 🤣 so excited to see all your Nashville releases. For Flosstube content - I never feel confident picking fabric if I am not using the called for and would love to see how you pick fabric for a project - either your own design or someone else's.
I really lived this video. My favorite of your videos yet. My kids came in and watched too. My daughter loved it because she takes ASL as her language at school. Can't wait for your new releases. As far as new content, I say just go for it. I will enjoy it all. You rock! :)
Wonderful video! Thank you so much for illustrating how we can all adapt to be more inclusive. ❤ And, I had to laugh when you shared about your husband; whenever I share my crafting progress with my husband he does the obligatory glance and says, "That's nice." 😂
I loved this video. I learned to sign so my office could communicate with a deaf patient who was on dialysis. Some of it came back a little. Thanks it’s great thing to do
I usually stitch while watching flosstube, but stopped and loved watching you sign your entire video. The silk you're using is sooo pretty!! I'm excited to see your progress.
Some folks on base here are starting an ASL class every week. I've always been interested in ASL, even taught some signs to my girls as babies so I'm looking forward to the class. My hubby is deployed so the need for childcare was concerning but luckily they're welcoming kids too, which I think is awesome. We can all learn ASL! Thanks for creating the Templar group and I'll definitely join your group too. Can't wait to see your market pieces!
Do it! I recommend Bill Vicar's website & UA-cam videos. He put his entire ASL 101 & 102 online for free. I learned a lot from him but did have to double check signs with my local friends because some are regional. But if you don't know any deaf people, he'll still be a great resource. ❤️
I would love to learn how to pick flosses and fabric that are different from the called for pattern materials. This process just escapes me! I see a pattern that may be nice, but after flosstubers/designers add a different fabric and floss pallet and BOOM.... Love it! Love the fb group... Already joined!
I love everything about this episode. The signing is so cool. Years ago I joined a signing club which was someone’s high school independent study project. We signed songs. I don’t remember how to sign anymore except some baby signing (that’s what happens when you grow up and have kids). Lol. I LOVE your Long Dog Sampler piece. I had seen it the other day and showed my husband who loves knights and dragons. He thought it was interesting. After seeing your start I want to make it too. I love your colors. I requested to join your FB page.
I didn't even know you could sign! That was great and different :) I think that my favorite kind of content outside of flosstube is just tutorials for things. Especially finishing, because that is the most difficult for me personally! Take care :)
Great job on signing. My Mum went deaf over time and she would be 90 if she was still alive. She didn’t want to learn signing, she believed in lip reading until she lost that last little bit of hearing that gave her clues. By then she felt she was too old to learn even though we had all bought the books for her and us, found classes she could take, she wouldn’t do it. She had a cochlear implant and that helped with her lip reading again but she wouldn’t go to the classes they recommended she go to post surgery. The first implant broke and she had a replacement but it never worked as well. It was so upsetting for her and us when she ended up in a nursing home, in a silent world with no skills to communicate and her brain no longer able to interpret the signal the cochlear was sending . I hope lots more people learn to sign, you never know when you will need it.😥.
Awesome job signing! It is not an easy task and makes me want to start practicing my ASL again! I think your video was beautiful to help make everyone feel welcome in our community!! Ps: Hubby did well on his Christmas pick! Kudos!!
I love Templar’s Prophecy. Thanks for advice on making it fit a fat quarter. As for future content, I’d like to see how you pick flosses/fabric for your patterns.
What an AMAZING human skill signing. You are very talented. I can not read it but feel blessed to have seen you do it. Your tutorials are always helpful. Would like to see one about lacing for framing and maybe a finish in the round. Keep up the good work and happy market.
You amaze me everytime I watch you. I really enjoyed your video and think you are super special for signing your video. Your projects are beautiful. Keep up the great work!
I love lady dot creates finishing trims and your pom and lacing tutorials. The lacing tutorial came in handy at Christmas. I used it for my daughters gift, yellow submarine by blackbird designs. Can't wait for your market releases.
I enjoyed watching this - great job on the signing! As for tutorials, I always like to see various finishing techniques - stitching is my hobby. Finishing is *not* so I have a hard time making myself do it.
I was sooo happy to see you started a facebook group. I loved the video in ASL it is beautiful! I have often wanted to learn ASL. I would love to see more insight to your design process and how you choose colors for your designs. Thanks,
I am blown away by your kindness and consideration! You bring so much joy to this community, and I'm so happy to have found you & your designs! 💜
Thank you so much for signing! My fiance was so happy he nearly cried because he could easily watch flosstube with me. He only stitches a little, but he really likes flosstube because it's relaxing. He's used to lip reading but CCs make life way easier so thank you for reminding everyone.
I'm so touched! I hope he could understand my not-expert ASL!!
This is so amazing Steph that you are doing ASL! 🌹

I don't MIND that you signed this video; I LOVE that you signed the video. How SUPER cool! And I fully joined the Lindy Stitchers.

This is awesome. I hope you continue signing and it inspires all of us to learn more. New skills, new languages, just more. We can be more!
I enjoyed your signing and beautiful facial expressions so much that I had my husband watch with me.
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Can't wait for your Market releases! I would love more finishing tutorials! Don't be a stranger!
I love that you are signing your video! I’m sure there will be stitchers that will appreciate it.
Loved this video, what an honor to watch you sign. Another one of your talents you shared with us, thank you.
Thank you for signing the show. A good reminder of those who deal with hearing loss on a daily basis! So you have a sweet husband...beautiful start on a gorgeous design. I loved watching you sign your video. When I was a kid my friend and I taught ourselves how to sign the alphabet. Love your new fb group.
I like to see how you stitch diagonally. Thanks that you signed during this video. It's awsome that you are including the deaf.
I love that you signed this video! I would like to see tutorials about specialty stitches and about parking threads.
I did not stitch. At all. I watched the entire video in awe and amazement. This was absolutely fantastic Stephanie. Also...Templar looks AMAZING
I miss taking sign language classes and going to ASL nights in college. This helped me learn some new signs. You did great. I love all your stitching. That LDS is beautiful and the silk you chose has great colors.

This is the first time I had watched you and I loved watching you. You are adorable with beautiful eyes. Your stitching is great also.
Hi Sarah! Thanks for watching!
Your signing was awesome 💜💜💜 I just recently found Flosstube which sparked me to start stitching again! Love all your patterns and videos!
I loved your video, Stephanie! Thank you for sharing your beautiful stitching. I’m looking forward to seeing what you will be releasing in Nashville. Exciting time of the year for all of us in the cross stitch world.😀

How very considerate to sign your video, you're awesome! Excited to join your Facebook group and see your new market releases!
Steph, this was an awesome video! I loved the signing; it's something I have been interested in doing for years. Keep on keeping on! You are a very talented lady! The fact that you freely share your love for the Lord is a real blessing to me!
😘😘😘
I love that you signed this episode. I hope you do it more. I would love to see how you decide how to finish something.
Thank you friend! I agree. Snow is a pain in the rear, but it definitely lightens the mood of winter. I miss it. Xo
How lovely of you to do this, Stephanie. Thank you...x
Stephanie - I really enjoyed your video in ASL. I am hearing but I appreciate why you did it. I've been feeling a little down & out thanks to the weather also. Spring is just around the corner and that's what keeps me going. Patricia
Awesome. I have 2 nephews born deaf. And your eyes! So expressive. Yea think looks even better with out side border.
Please accept my apology. No offense was intended.
Such a cute new pattern! Gonna go grab it now. Loved watching you sign! I only took one ASL class in college, it was the best class!
Great video. Love the signing. Ideas for finishes would be a good topic. Love seeing the projects. Thanks for sharing.
You’re awesome ❤️ Sunny days are ahead! Best wishes in Nashville and good job Momma for teaching them the Word 😘
Wow! Awesome video. Loved the ASL. Was something new for me and I appreciate you bringing something new to my day.
I would love to learn how to pick flosses and fabric that are different from the called for pattern materials. This process just escapes me! I see a pattern that may be nice, but after flosstubers/designers add a different fabric and floss pallet and BOOM.... Love it! Love the fb group... Already joined!
Yes, please! I would also appreciate this type of video!
Thanks! 🙂
Meline
Stephanie I really enjoyed you signing during the video. Keep it up!
Great video. Thank you for being so sweet and kind. Cannot wait to see your new designs.
You rock. I love this .... Thank you for being inclusive. I would like to see this kind of video again.
Very impressed with your signing!
I told you on IG that I hate FB, but I will cave and join your group. SUCH IS YOUR POWER. ;)
👹😂😂😂😂😂
Awesome job signing! It is not an easy task and makes me want to start practicing my ASL again! I think your video was beautiful to help make everyone feel welcome in our community!! Ps: Hubby did well on his Christmas pick! Kudos!!
First time watching you and I must say I’m mesmerized by your beautiful eyes. Nice stitching!
Thanks Lori!
I think it’s AMAZING that you signed! You are so so sweet xx
You amaze me everytime I watch you. I really enjoyed your video and think you are super special for signing your video. Your projects are beautiful. Keep up the great work!
OMG!! I loved watching this with you signing your video. Thanks for sharing this! Your new releases are going to be great!! Good Luck at Market!!
Enjoy hearing all your plans and ideas..appreciate the extra effort you took to sign. Hope your market trip is a great success!
I love lady dot creates finishing trims and your pom and lacing tutorials. The lacing tutorial came in handy at Christmas. I used it for my daughters gift, yellow submarine by blackbird designs.
Can't wait for your market releases.
Steph, you amazed me again! Great signing and progress. See ya on Facebook. Take care.
I enjoyed watching this - great job on the signing! As for tutorials, I always like to see various finishing techniques - stitching is my hobby. Finishing is *not* so I have a hard time making myself do it.
I totally relate! ❤️
What a great job of signing Stephanie. Kudos to you for having the courage to do this in a video. Happy Stitching! ~ Beth M.
I was sooo happy to see you started a facebook group. I loved the video in ASL it is beautiful! I have often wanted to learn ASL. I would love to see more insight to your design process and how you choose colors for your designs. Thanks,
