This is my orchestral cover of the "Dead Sea" theme from Chrono Cross, originally composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. The track is also sometimes referred to as "Tower of Geddon". A lot of thought, love and care went into this arrangement, since I found this part of CC to be one of the most memorable, haunting and inspiring moments in any RPG. I wanted to capture as many aspects of its essence as I could. I hope you will like it! This track was nominated and voted for by my patrons on Subscribestar. This is such a haunting piece. It feels like the soundtrack of Chrono Cross is a kind of inversion of Chrono Trigger, even as the game’s stories are inverted. Your arrangement captures the melancholy and the anxiety of the original very well.

The stories aren't actually inverted, Chrono Cross is more of a cautionary continuation to the optimistic Chrono Trigger. The Trigger gang were more worried about if they could save the future and didn't know they were actually dooming it worse. Admittedly the sages were also unaware of what would happen and had no way of knowing so it wasn't the gang's fault.
The funny thing being that Cross actually references what scientists think would happen if someone were to change the past with time travel: dimensional duplication. So the gang both doomed a universe and did nothing.
Serge being murdered by a being which will not exist if he does and so won't come back to his time to murder him, creates multiple worlds. Serge also not existing since the archipelago where he lives was artificially created by the time travelers also doesn't help.
Chrono Cross has a beautiful soundtrack and is one of my favourites. This is a lovely, haunting mix.

This really give you the same anxious feeling that looms over you like a shadow that I felt the first time seeing this level. The ghost that wonder around the place didn't help either 😰

I'm glad you liked that. I felt that the piccolo was a good choice to not only give a sense of longing, but also introduce a kind of nautical feeling at that moment.

My God, when I got this part of the game, I swear I wasn't prepared for what were coming at the bottom of that melancholic place. My conscience still bleeds sadness after defeating Miguel 😢All the revelations that could even make somebody to hate this game or to value so much more (in my best friend's case, he loves this game as a game itself, but hates the idea of it being a Chrono Trigger sequel, especially because Lucca's fate).
Really one of your best efforts this one, Kee. Thanks for so many years of magic and light through your art. I swear when I get married in the future, your music will be part of my home 😉

love when you remix chrono cross since your remixes of the game are among my favorite of yours, this take is very interesting since it isn't as brutal and oppressive you actually make it feel like it would be a good place to be with how nice it sounds, it was lovely to listen to!

I don't know the original material, so my take on it might be completely off.
Although the vibe I get from this is the exploration of a post-apocalyptic city where nature sort of took over. Sort of world where a nuclear warfare created magic, and now its a bunch of adorable Fairies living in peaceful villages in the ruins of a once Human civilization long forgotten.
TL:DR: Song good, peaceful melody, I like it.
