I have a 991.2 Targa GTS with a MT and I agree with your sentiments. The car is a blast to drive and somewhat practical as sports cars go. I have 23k on mine and she still drives like new.

Thanks for your comment Mark, We literally have the same car!
I’m glad the Targa GTS raised the ride height back up VS other GTS Variants, it’s just so much more easily use-able everyday.
What made you choose the targa over the cabriolet?

Recommend parking normally in the lot, but leave several or sometimes many better spaces.
I've found that best with mine. Otherwise, you're completely visible to idiots.
One point, sometimes people want to park next to you because they know you won't ding their doors.

Thanks for your input, and that’s a really good point!
I never thought about it that way haha

The GTS you have is worth a lot more due to the manual transmission. The 2025 t-hybrid GTS is 541 horsepower which has better stats than your car (0-60 in 2.9 seconds, top speed 194 mph).

      Thanks for sharing this!
I surely do hope so that my 911 will be worth more, as there isn’t any manual transmission in 911 anymore.
My spider sense do feel that Porsche might be doing some special editions with manual transmission in the future, maybe in 2026 or so, but let’s see!
Porsche always surprises us in the best way possible!

@@AlbertandcarsYour turbo lag, tacky yellow seatbelts and stitching, heavy Targa top, lack of power (541 HP more than the most expensive Turbo S). The manual is slower than the PDK and has a very limited resale audience. The 992.2 is Formula 1 derived. BTW, you should have no rattles, which you say is normal. My opinion, sell it now, get an allocation for the 2025, 992.2. Sorry your depreciation will accelerate as every new t-hybrid comes out.

@@ArnoldWintersfor real? lol Manual all day would pay more for one. To each there own but def segment of the market that want the manual. Dealers that know I have a manual GTS have reached out offering more then I paid.

How is the ride quality! I heard it is softer than the turbo/turbo s!

      Thanks for reaching out!
I haven’t sat in a Turbo or Turbo S, so I might not be the best to comment on this.
But I have sat in a base Carrera 4, Carrera T, Carrera 4S and GTS, and let me confirm that the Targa4GTS rides very comfortably on the comfort setting.
Even as a GTS, the Targa4GTS is still 10mm higher than a GTS, and because of that, the car is leaning more towards a Grand Touring feeling than a true GTS, which is a bit more sporty.
It does suit the Targa car, as it’s heavier anyways, so there’s no reason to try to hide that fact and make the compromise. If you do prefer the stiffer suspension, I find pressing the stiffer suspension in the car does add 20-25% more stiffness, which is perfect for seldom track days.
Hope that answers your question 👌🏼

7:58 Drive mode selector without Response Button and no Sports Chrono?

      @@spitfire4047 good eye!
Unfortunately Only PDK has the Response Button, and manual transmission does not have that.
As manual transmission owners, we can only downshift to get instant power, the old school way haha.

    How is the clutch, bro?

    • @Albertandcars
      @Albertandcars  2 місяці тому +1

Butter 🧈 smooth! I’ve had other manual cars before, and honestly the Porsche 911 manual transmission is so nice.
After 2 years, the smoothness is still contestant, as some other brands, the clutch gets harder and harder.
