"To be loved is to be considered." Last night, I went into work at 11pm; I work 12 hour shifts and have my lunch break at 6am. When I went out to my car I was left with a text from my wife that read, "I'll be waiting for your phone call, even if you had a bad day at work. Call me on break; I want to hear your voice." I almost started crying. I was listening to this on break when I received the text and called her I did. She told me all the little things she did while I was at work, how she played fallout 4 for fun, how she did some cleaning and made our bed so I could come home to fresh sheets, how she bought me some ingredients (because I love to cook) and that she wanted me to make her favorite meal. She told me how she spent an hour lying in bed just missing me and wishing I was home with her. No one I have ever been with prior to her had ever put this much thought or effort into me before, and it reminded me again just how much she means to me truly. I fall in love with this woman all over again every single day. Every fight, I only think about how proud I am of her for having her own opinion and standing on it, no matter how silly it may be. When we laugh together, her laughter could never annoy me, it sounds like the most ethereal noise the universe could ever produce. Her smile lights up galaxies and warms my frozen and stoic heart every time I see it. I grew up in a really rough environment, and because of that, I found myself falling for the wrong people. Taking my parents messy divorce as the definition of "love" because in my mind, people who are madly in love with one another are mad for each other, but I never realized that insanity can't be mistaken for love, and only when I met my wife did I genuinely understand love. Love isn't chaotic, it isn't grandiose or full of flare.
