      Convert 260 watts to volts and the volts you get thats how much volts the capacitor should be and i don't think you can get 3500-23000hz exacly

    Without getting too technical, what is a good "size" capacitor to use on a 2 inch speaker (not a tweeter)

    • @1sonyzz
      @1sonyzz 6 років тому +2

      depends on what freq you want to cut off at here is calculator www.diyaudioandvideo.com/Calculator/SpeakerCrossover/ you enter resistance on both speakers and simplest 1st order butterworth crossover design which consists of a cap for tweeter and inductor (coil) for subwoofer ps most speakers cut off at like 4500Hz or 5000Hz but really depends on how u like it

    So, why do we need crossovers if a capacitor can do the job?

    • @technoboy-allinOne
      @technoboy-allinOne  4 роки тому +1

      A crossover is made for highs as well as lows too. Crossover uses a coil for woofer to reduce the highs.and use same caps for tweeter. And some crossover has mids too. But normally a caps can be used to cut off the bass for tweeter. For example many sony music system uses only a capacitor like this for tweeter. They dont use crossover.

    How can i get 6ohms speaker? What will i combine to have 6 ohms speaker? Thank you

    • @technoboy-allinOne
      @technoboy-allinOne  4 роки тому +1

      All branded speakers are 6ohms, like yamaha,pioneer etc. If you wanna use a 4ohms speakers with 6ohms amp then you can use a cement resistance of 2 ohms. If your amp has 6ohms output. Then you can use 8 ohms speakers too. The speakers impedence must be the same with the amp or higher to keep your amp safe. There you can connect 2 no of 4ohms speakers serially, then they will make 8 ohms.

    super "trick" to balance cheap active pc-speakers with subwoofer. usually the bass is way to loud for this combinations. well done, sir.

    • @TBL_stevennelson
      @TBL_stevennelson 4 роки тому +1

      The amp uses Alternating current to drive speakers in and out that's not true of all amps but that's why you use bipolar capacitors. There more money then regular ones. You can use two non bipolar just connect the - together and the + to your - & + wires then to your speakers

    • @technoboy-allinOne
      @technoboy-allinOne  3 роки тому

      For that you mainly need a heavy choke coil. But the desire frequency depends on the number of turn of the coil. But for better result you must use an active low pass filter. For a subwoofer passive low pass filter is not at all a good option. And also the copper coil price would be much more then an active low pass filter.
